There are better all you can eat sushi places in the area. Miga Sushi in Denville for one. Also, we had a 10% off Unilocal check in offer that they wouldn’t take. They said we couldn’t use it on the all you can eat but it said this no where. Very poor customer service. I seriously doubt we’ll be back.

Love this spot. BYOB and all you can eat Sushi. Whats not to love? The atmosphere is a bit run down– that’s the only reason I would give it 4 stars.

Got the beef appetizer wrapped around scallions, California roll, beef hibachi and spicy tuna avocado roll. The beef appetizer was surprisingly tasteful! It didn’t look that appetizing but it had a lot of flavor! Both the sushi rolls were good and fresh. The hibachi was good. Servers were very attentive. I have no complaints and would go back again.

Nagano is located on the second floor of the building, up a flight of somewhat narrow stairs. Restaurant has an fair amount of seating and serves canned soda. My friends came the day before and raved about the all you can eat sushi, so I had to check it out. Orders are taken via paper you fill out with a pencil. Started with the Eel Cucumber, Spicy Salmon, and Spicy Girl. Eel Cucumber had a subtle flavor with light Eel sauce. Spicy Salmon at first was not spicy but had a nice after kick. Spicy Girl was much different than I expected and was very meaty, had nice after burn, but was quite filling. Ordered another roll named Crazy Salmon, its flavor was odd with an interesting saucy/crunchy combination and subtle hotness later. Afterwards, after being incredibly full, and being asked if I want more, they told me the meal also comes with Ice Cream! The Green Tea Ice Cream was a nice ending. Overall, the sushi flavors were ok, much different from what I am used to. For the price and the amount of sushi I ate, this place is great and I will be returning.

It was a rather interesting situation of how I ended up dining at Nagano. Me and beau were originally planning to meet up at another place in downtown Morristown. However, he got stuck with few things at work and once we got to Morristown, most places were either closed or about to close for the night. Nagano was one of the few options that open late, so we decided to give it a try. Now let me remind you a word about parking, this is downtown Morristown. If you really not rather circle around trying to find a street spot, the garage all-night flat rate isn’t so bad tbh. At first, we were offered AYCE by the waitress. Since we weren’t all that hungry, we ordered sushi deluxe and the chicken hibachi to be shared. I’d say both were among one of the better ones I’ve had in NJ. Prices is reasonable as well. There’s also tami seating on the third floor(I just happened to peek on my way to the ladies room). I saw buckets of ice and bottles on other tables, so yeah it is BYOB too :)(boy, I was very observant this time!)

My husband and I went out to Morristown thinking we were going to go to Masago for sushi. While walking there we heard that Nagano was actually a better place. I was a little weary because I am VERY particular about my sushi restaurants. We took a shot. It’s about $ 50 plus tax and gratuity for an all you can eat menu. Another red flag went up for me because I’ve been to other all you can eat places and have been SEVERELY disappointed. When in Rome! Definitely you’re «hole-in-the-wall» type of place but they can accommodate small and large parties just fine. We ordered from the all you can eat menu. The rolls were not reduced in size just because it was on the AYCE menu. The sashimi was extremely fresh and actually had flavor. The pieces were small but I would take a smaller size over quality. It was FANTASTIC. We ordered Playboy-get this for a show! Bob roll X2 A healthy roll with cucumber on the outside(my fav) Soft shell crab roll Alaskan roll And some others that I don’t remember the name but it was all delicious! I love leaving places feeling like the money spent was worth it and I absolutely felt that way leaving Nagano. We will be back!

Back at university in Waterloo, there are quite a few sushi places; as a result, my expectations of sushi are pretty high. When I first walked into this restaurant, I was not expecting too much. They seemed to be a pretty small place with only a few waitresses and 2 people at the bar. However, I must say that their sushi(especially their specialty rolls) are absolutely incredible! I would definitely recommend getting the all you can eat — the rolls on their own are quite expensive, but their AYCE quality is of the same quality as their regular menu. Between the three of us, we ordered 13ish specialty rolls, and we ended up paying around $ 30 each(pretty standard for sushi places, I think). I highly recommend trying their playboy roll — they wrap the sushi in tin foil, and then sear it with alcohol and a lighter in front of you, giving the sushi a really unique, awesome, seared flavor.

This place is across the street from the famished frog. Look for a green door and go upstairs. It’s the type of place you can walk right past without knowing it was there. We sat at the bar because it was pretty crowded on a Saturday at 8:00 pm. I’m usually weary of all you can eat sushi for 24.95 $ bc in the past it’s usually mostly rice and filled with not much sushi. They have great rolls and even allow you to get sashimi with the all you can eat special. The server«tony»(def not his real name) was great. Even lot a fire under the playboy roll we ordered to put on a show. This place is BYOB. THey also do not accept 10% off Unilocal check in for the all You can eat special.

Stopped in for lunch yesterday, probably the most mehhh place like it. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 3pm. Boyfriend ordered sushi, said it was okay. I ordered a beef and shrimp hibachi dinner. Like always, you start with the salad and miso soup. The actual dinner? It was like I ordered a stir fry dish from a fast food Chinese restaurant. It’s was heavily cooked in sauce and vegetables. I ate all the shrimps and some of the vegetables and rice – huge waste of $ 18 dollars, I can make a better stir fry, which is not even what I ordered. Nothing like the hibachi were all use to. Paid and left, fair service. Won’t be going back.

You cannot use the 10% off on all you can eat! Sushi was ok. The playboy roll is pretty good and the chow roll is delicious.

We tried the all you can eat option here and although everything was good, there are better sushi places downtown. If you’re in the mood to stuff yourself full of sushi, stop by and give them a try.

Previous to our experience on 6÷12÷15 this sushi joint was a favorite for carrying out. It was easy to order from and prompt with its orders. However, this all changed on a Friday at around 8. We were sat quickly, given menus and drinks all in a prompt manner. After our order was placed is when this place fell apart. My girlfriends order of a salmon lover entrée took an appaling hour and a half to get. My appetizer arrived with my entrée about 45 minutes into dinner, and then we didn’t see the waitress for another 20 minutes. It seemed like my girlfriends order kept getting pushed to the back in order to accommodate the pickup orders, which is simply unnaceptable. We were left with the option to leave or wait it out. We choose to get our food and then leave. This is sad. The quality of sushi here is outstanding, but the service is unbearably bad. We will only be coming back to pickup our food. Never again will we wait an hour and a half for 18 pieces of sushi.

Started off with the salad. Very mediocre. They gave the ginger dressing and sesame dressing. We got the AYCE and it was very good. Tried a couple special rolls, sushi rolls, and the apps(Goyza and shumai). They also had ice cream for dessert. Only complaint I have is that they only had one selection of sashimi where you would get an assortment of 12. You didn’t get a choice. They did service us super quick. We came on a Friday around 7 pm. So they crowd was average. Not too packed, but not empty. I would definitely recommend coming here for AYCE. We checked in on Unilocal and was delighted to see they offered a 10% discount. But nowhere did it say it did not apply to the AYCE.

Went here for the AYCE sushi. For $ 25 per person you can order everything from simple sashimi to crazy rolls to ramen. Not a bad deal if you are hungry I guess. Let’s face it though, for $ 25 you can get much higher quality a la carte sushi elsewhere and be comfortably full. Sushi was above average for AYCE places, but below average otherwise, especially given that they offer a la carte. The quality of the fish was mediocre and especially noticeable with the sashimi. I tried a lot of the special rolls as well and the taste was lacking, despite all the ingredients and sauces. At least the hand rolls were extra large, almost the size of a roll in fact(see photos). I was with a large group of 16, and we were not offered complimentary sake. Strange that the table was pre-set with sake cups. Two people never received their non-sushi entrees, but there was enough other food that they didn’t speak up. My group sat in the upstairs room and the ventilation was poor. My clothes smelled like super greasy food afterwards — not a big deal, but might be bothersome for some. Overall, Nagano is a good crowd pleaser for large groups as the menu is extensive and pricing is simple with AYCE. They also let you order a la carte and don’t force the whole group to participate in AYCE. If you appreciate quality sushi though, I would recommend going to Asahi. Other notes: –They validate $ 1 off parking at the large garage right down the road. –BYOB(no corkage fee) –They apparently charge a $ 5 fee if you leave food on your plate. I didn’t see anyone get penalized, but no one left piles of food.

If you’re STARVING for sushi, this is the best place to go! Point me at an AYCE sushi place, and i’ll try it out, but this topped all my expectations. I’ve been to, and love Mindao, but this is a little different. Minado is a per piece AYCE, this is a PERROLLAYCAE! For $ 24.95 per person, you sit down to warm towels, with a menu and pencil. Mark off all the apps/rolls/pieces/entrès you want, they’ll take it all away when you’re done, then bring you Sake… INCLUDED in the price! They’ll bring out your soup, and apps. then bring out your rolls when you’re done with those. When you’re done with your 1st round, they’ll bring you another menu to choose more!!! All the while refilling your Sake when it’s gone! Top it all off with ice cream, and they now have a customer for life, and I have a new reason to make the trip into Morristown! The sushi was delicious, and fish was fresh. If you’re in the mood for sushi, this is one of the best places to go in Morristown.

Not a ton to add. My friend and I went for the all you can eat — if you’re going to order any sushi at all it doesn’t make sense to go with anything else. Rolls had a good proportion of rice/filling as did the nigiri sushi. All of our fish tasted fresh and clean. The all you can eat menu also has a wide array of non-fish options. Our noodles(shrimp udon) were yummy with a decent ratio of noodles/vegetables/shrimp(as a stand alone I would have called it a bit stingy on filling and heavy on the noodle). Tamago was readily available and tasty(many places have it on the menu but never actually have any to serve). Sweet potato roll was disappointing — low on the sweet potato and soggy instead of crispy. One low point was the pickled radish — it was an assortment of different radishes pickled in different styles — radish five ways might be a good analogy. Some were too funky for my taste(I generally love pickled anything); I guess I just had a different image in my mind when I ordered. The server/kitchen definitely try to pace out your meal. Unlike many all you can eat places they do not bring out all your food at once. First the soup/salad, then an appetizer or two, then your sushi, then your hot items. They REALLY do not want you to waste/over order. Service was extremely friendly and attentive; they also make an effort to know their regular customers.

Hold the wasabi, this place is only 3.5 stars?! We stopped here randomly and have decided to come back here many many many times in the future. The all you can eat is worth every penny. Food: $ 24.95 all you can eat. A full page(front and back) to pick from and it includes more items than the normal all you can eat sushi(teriyaki, ramen, udon, pad thai, hibachi etc). Comes with miso soup or salad. Salad is served with 2 different dressings on the side. Started with the gyoza, shumai, yakitori: all excellent Then came the ramen/tonkatsu(both full portions, beware) Two speciality rolls(they have at least 15 on the list): both excellent Ended the meal with green tea ice cream Drink: They gave complimentary sake carafe for two(2 full sake cups each). A nice surprise Hot tea is well… hot tea BYOB Atmosphere: Casual dining. It is a bit dated but the food quality is worth coming back for Service: Pretty good, there were quite a few people checking on us throughout the dinner. You need to climb a few stairs(10+) to get to the restaurant level(just in case that’s a problem). You’d also need to climb another set to use the restrooms. I was so full after this meal, I contemplated rolling down them. Restaurant was 2⁄3 full on a weekday dinner(6−8ish)

Quick friendly service and complimentary sake in a little ceramic pitcher with the proper matching cups made dinner at Nagano a real pleasure. Maybe people are calling this«fusion» because a pad thai is on the menu? It felt extremely traditional to me, don’t expect a BBQ-pork roll or other, ahem, «innovations» here. You want to sample the range of Japanese fare? You’re at the right place! Nagano serves maki(rolls of seafood-nori-rice) ranging from simple avocado rolls for $ 4 all the way up to a Golden Dragon for $ 16. No central flat-top grill but they offer«Hibachi» stir-fry dishes. Nabemono(i.e., stew) choices included beef, chicken and seafood. Yakimono(grilled) options were eel, salmon, shrimp etc etc. Agemono(deep fried) means veg and shrimp tempura. Want to sample? Get a dinner box which has tempura, dumplings, rolls and a stir-fried protein. Noodles? Stir-fried, cold and even a couple of ramen soups. Even Oshizushi(pressed sushi), a new one on me! Yup, a menu as big as a Jersey diner, something for everyone :) I tried the Nasu Hasamiyaki which was slices of eggplant plus a deep-fried shrimp tucked between, served on sautéed onions and carrots in a smoking-hot cast iron pan, really liked it. English isn’t their strong suit and I agree with other Unilocalers that the interior is showing its age. It’s quiet tho, very nice for adult conversation. BYO. Vegetarian rating: you probably already know better than to ask, but to be fair the menu offers several salads, pickles and a vegetarian roll. I didn’t ask if the veg tempura shares an oil bath with the pork cutlet. For some inexplicable yet happy reason they knocked 15% off our bill and we didn’t even show a coupon or check in on Unilocal, nice! Next time maybe I can talk my family into getting the Love Boat with me — 12 sushi, 2 rolls and 20 sashimi for $ 62.50! Now that would be a picture for Unilocal lol.
