Very comfortable, quaint little place. Quality sushi and great service. One of the best seaweed salads I’ve ever had.

Went there for lunch this past Tuesday May 17th and after eating there I couldn’t believed the place was empty. The food was phenomenal. I’m no expert but I have been in Japan several times so I do know a little something about Japanese food. The sushi was excellent, very fresh and portions were a good size. Lunch isn’t cheap but I think this is the best sushi in Motown. Service was prompt and the place did have a very nice typical Tokyo restaurant feel to it. I think it’s main problem is it’s off South Street and difficult to see so many people don’t know it’s there. I’m definitely looking to go back. They have s huge menu with a large variety of offerings from tempura to sashimi to sushi snd more.

I ordered take out and waited for 25 minutes. The service was slow and they weren’t busy. I was was very disappointed in the sushi. It was warm and really didn’t taste fresh. I will not go back too many better sushi places in Morristown!

Found this place on our travels tonight using Unilocal.Let me start by saying the sushi chef was awesome. We ordered the«meal for 2″ — $ 62 plus a additional salad $ 6.50. He was on target and everything came out fresh. No one else seemed to really have a care. We sat for a long time before being greeted. 15 minutes After we ordered I had to speak up can we have some water? The Kani salad came before the water. There were 2 staff who appeared to be on but only 1 was running around. At one point the man I believe was the owner pulled the waiter aside and told him to refill our water which we never received. Why didn’t the owner just fill it? If you have a ton of time to kill eat here.

So disappointed. Nothing like the Manhattan monster sushi. Overpriced, warm sushi, I asked for a spicy California hand roll which was a generous helping of food but doused with straight up sriratcha. Inedible and I LOVE spicy food. No more cheating on my go to sushi place and trying new places. Unfortunately monster will NEVER last in this location with a town bursting with sushi places. Avoid.

I was pleased to see Monster Sushi open here in Morristown. My son and I ordered one of the larger«boat» type platters. It was amazing! The pieces were large and fresh and melted in our mouths. Eating sashimi is the ultimate way to see if a sushi restaurant is serving fresh fish. Monster Sushi did not disappoint!

Fabulous. The sushi was grand and the service was top notch. I asked the waiter to pick for me and he didn’t disappoint. The roll I got was a special one – the unbelievable – but it wasn’t the most expensive on the menu. Beautiful to behold. The miso soup was the usual and the salad was heavy on the ginger dressing which is great if you like it that way. But the thing I liked most is that, although I came in close to closing time, they made me feel welcome and did not rush me out the door. While I wouldn’t make a habit of dining so late – it’s nice to know that some establishments still treat their patrons so well. I’m saving my 5 star rating for my next visit – let’s see if they can repeat this!

Got sushi to-go. I am no sushi-connoisseur, but friends ordered from here on a regular basis. I went in with lots of questions that got answered promptly and politely. I walked out feeling like they guided me well to something I knew I would like and got home and loved every piece of it!

Huge list of choices, you can get rolls, nigiri, teriyaki, ramen, tonkatsu and so much more that it was difficult to choose. I guess it’s a great thing for Motown when a restaurant branches out *from* Manhattan *to* here. Four-star food, two-star service, $$ is right yet still a little expensive for what you get. Four of us visited on a quiet Sunday night. The room wasn’t noisy, that’s a big plus when trying to catch up with my dining companions. Our server was friendly and happy to answer questions. But the sushi chefs were astonishingly slow, our rolls came out a solid 15 minutes after the first two entrees. They brought miso soup for the table during the long wait to prevent us from getting hangry — it worked, a nice touch — but with only 5 tables in the whole restaurant I just didn’t understand the long delay. I tried the yosenabe, a huge pot of cabbage, carrot, tofu, shrimp, scallops, pieces of fish and clear noodles in a steaming hot broth, difficult to finish, $ 19.50 which felt a little high for soup. My khaleesi tried the bento box with beef teriyaki, rice, salad, rolls and dumplings, an excellent variety and I thought that was fairly priced at $ 19. The youngsters got rolls including the excellent rainbow(dinosaur), may different kinds of perfect fish on the outside of an asparagus, surimi & avocado roll presented in a long thin dish, very yummy not to mention filling, $ 14.50. Vegetarian rating: 4 stars for the many appetizers like the dumpling(veggie gyoza), Japanese pickles(oshinko), the unavoidable soybeans(edamame) and veg tempura. Also choose from well over a, dozen vegetarian rolls with avocado, peanut, spinach, mushroom or others, all with the full seaweed & rice treatment.

Ordered take out tonight for the first time, it was very good. The order consisted of rolls, all were fresh and excellent. The little touches like the ginger and wasabi in separate containers are really nice and appreciated. We had the Santa, World Series and Spicy California rolls. I would recommend them all. This will probably be our new go to sushi place.

I give Monster Sushi one more star for its improvements. The outside eating area is gone due to the cold weather. it appears that new waiter/waitress are in place after the first month. The chief started to roll a better sushi now.

Service was very friendly but slow despite not been crowded. Sashimi is average. A lot of options for rolls I was expecting better quality fish. .

We came here later at night around 9:15 on a Friday night. The sushi was good, and we had good service. I can’t say anything bad about the place. The prices were similar to all the places there are in town. I’d like to give this place a better review when I come back to actually have dinner and not just a late night snack type thing. I don’t really know anyone who has sushi as a «snack», besides me, LOL. So, I’d like to give it a fair chance.

Have been here twice now, once for takeout on Labor Day and once for lunch today. Food is very fresh, and certain dishes are quite flavorful. All the staff, from the door check to the waiters, are very nice and attentive. The huge menu selection should help you and your party find something interesting to try. I’ve had their inside out California roll, calamari roll(which is cooked), beef tataki, creature roll, and dynamite roll. The California roll and creature roll were delicious; I think this is true because it’s hard to mess up a California roll and the creature roll has an inventive and pretty combination of avocado, eel, mango, and spicy tuna. On the other hand, the beef tataki was definitely not rare, and the calamari roll, which has fried and breaded calamari, just sort of doesn’t work. What I take from this is that if the ingredients you see on the menu sound like they would go well together, you can expect a decent roll. Nothing was a revelation, but I’ll gladly return.

Anytime I am in Morristown, I’m a little overwhelmed with the amount of restaurants and the variety of cuisines offered. We came to monster sushi thanks to fellow Unilocalers and their«they love us on Unilocal sticker». Staff was extremely nice and greeted us warmly. Our waitress was very helpful with questions we had. For appetizer we got shrimp shumai and a kani salad. The shrimp shumai was okay… A tad musher than I’ve ever tried but still good. The kani salad was probably the biggest portion of kani salad. Three of us shared it and there was still some left over. You can’t mess up kani salad so you know they hit this on the nail. We tried about 4 different rolls, philly, tuna avocado, spicy crazy girl, and a magic roll. All of the rolls were extremely fresh and delicious. We probably could have had one more roll but we ended up ordering fried red bean ice cream. Why did I never try this before? Fried ice cream is possibly one of the best things I have on a very very long time! This spot is a great sushi choice while in Morristown. Everything from the staff, menu selections and freshness you can’t go wrong. Thanks monster sushi, you ended my weekend on a high note. J
