LOVE this place! It is very rare to find Sushi Burrito’s here on the East Coast so it is important to keep this wonderful place in business. The Spicy Tuna Sushi Burrito is very good, made as you order so you can see it being made right in front of you almost like a Chipotle and the staff was very friendly. The location is right in the heart of Morristown. Hours of operation are prime I am glad they close at a reasonable time on weekends because I would be sad to see drunkies stumbling in after going to the bars and wrecking the place. A very cool atmosphere I enjoy the motivational quotes around the place, even made a joke to a friend«Ahh so this is the place the white girls come to find a good quote to get tattooed» lol I definitely recommend the average sushi lover to try a burrito, with the Make Your Own option you really can’t go wrong, also very reasonably priced!

Solid Ramen in Morristown! Had the miso ramen and steamed pork buns, both were very good. Also had the mango green tea«shaker» which was delicious. Will definitely return.

Inspiration Roll was very GOOD! The broth in the ramen was just so tasty and spicy. I tried the shrimp bao as well and it was so delicious. Something nice is that you don’t have to pay a high salary!

We have visited Inspirational Roll a number of times in the past two weeks. Read a lot of mixed reviews… our take: We love this place! The ramens, rolls and paos are very good … we don’t rate one pasta restaurant as better than another one as a few reviews seem to imply … the food is either good or not! We can pick on the plastic bowls(this is not fine dining) but bottom line if you are going for the food we highly recommend this place!

My family and I were pretty excited to see a ramen restaurant open in Morristown, but after our meal there we’d be happier if it left. Rather than inspirational, the décor struck me as overwhelmingly commercial. It seemed like a misguided corporate attempt to be «hip». We dined in, all our food was served in plastic to-go containers, which created an unpleasant dining experience and is the opposite of inspirational for our planet. I know washing dishes isn’t the most fun activity in the world, but when you’re a restaurant it’s probably something you should be willing to do. The ramen was mediocre with heavy handed flavor, definitely some of the worst I’ve had at a professional establishment. Both my dad and I felt nauseous after the meal.

I guess I’ll be a bit of a contrarian here. I wasn’t expecting a dedicated«just like Tokyo» ramen place(Ippudo’s in Tokyo at midnight. Now that’s an experience). But if you are looking for a easy and friendly fusion place then this is a good choice. We tried a few things. One was the spicy to tonkatsu ramen was good. The spice was good and the broth was rich. The egg was perfectly cooked. Soft boiled and delicious. Finally the pork was deliciously fatty. Probably not good for my cholesterol but sometimes on a snowy slushy day like today it is just what you need. The rolls are a really cool fusion concept. A large sushi roll wrapped in nori. We tried the American Dream and it was tasty. The rice was fresh and the combination of the spice of the tuna with the crunch of cucumbers was great. The service was very fast and the sit down area is nice and trendy. I particularly liked the inspirational quotes on the walls. A nice spot for a bite. They also have takeout which is great option as well if you are in a rush. Give it a shot when you are around :/)

I came in here a few weeks ago for a late dinner because it is new in town, we brought a couple of bottles of beer and ordered a couple of bowls of ramen. My ramen was so good that I have been thinking about it ever since. It’s a fun place to hang out and the food was quick to come out. I do need to say though that I graduated from college in 2012 and I swear this place was like stepping into a time warp! he décor and music reminded me of a few places I used to eat at on campus — definitely not in a bad way. I will be a returning customer soon.

Fast food meets Ramen! Contrary to what Oodles of Noodles. and Nissan Cup-O-Soup may want you to believe, Ramen is comfort food that takes a millennia to prepare correctly. The broth here is not as rich as I would qualify as traditional, but this is an acceptable quick fix for that bowl of noodles on a cold eve. You order from a counter, and your grub is served up in a disposable plastic bowl suitable for an easy to-go goto slurp your supper at home meal. My fellow diners gave their soup a rating a bit below mmmm-good… but better than Meh… with service far better than a nazi of soup will ever provide… And I do contend that until a better and closer option makes itself obvious this place is good enough as a quick go-to when a case of the sniffles is a brewing. and I’m too lazy to whip up the Jewish penicillin myself. This place is going big or going home with a repeat incarnation coming soon to Summit!

Amazing! Awesome place for a sushi burrito!!! Order a sushi burrito the way you would order at Chipotle! Real quick and get it customized the way you want. Tastes so good!

It’s a good thing that my unborn child does not have access to a phone because otherwise he’d be calling child protective services for feeding him such horrible ramen. Judging from the pictures on Unilocal,I didn’t have high hopes, but my husband and I decided to check this place out. Having mind blowing ramen in Washington DC(see my review), this was only a marginal step above what you get in the package. When they placed the bowl in front of me I immediately noticed the beyond overcooked eggs. While I do enjoy my eggs hard boiled, they have no place being in my ramen. Instead of what should be a deeply flavorful broth, I got what tasted like dirty dish water with soy sauce in it. The pork belly was overcooked and looked like dried out leather in my bowl. Needless to say I shall be sticking to Ippudo in the city, and continuing my ramen quest in NJ elsewhere.

Went with the American Roll sushi burrito. Tasty! Interesting fusion of sushi flavors and burrito textures … though, the tempura flakes were more of a sushi texture. A little bit of heat, but there’s hot sauce available to amp that up, for those so inclined. There are a number of signature rolls, in addition to being able to custom order. Also tried the Bao as a side. It was okay. They’ve apparently marinated the pork in a tasty sauce. Eating the bun-wrapped, slider of sorts was not too complicated; though, the amount of lettuce seemed disproportionate and was distracting. Even at lunch on a Thurs, and with a slow but steady flow of traffic, there was ample room — probably about 6 tables for two that could be combined, generous spacing between them, and two banks of bar seats. Limited beverages — aside from the tea selection, there are three, glass-bottled soft drinks [Coke, Sprite, Fanta … no Diet], eco-friendly boxed water, some kind of lemonade, and there might have been something additional. As with any business off the Green, parking can be tricky. Traffic is typically heavy, so we opted to hit the parking garage behind Roots and The Office, instead of getting bogged down in slow cycles around the blocks. I’ll be back here to try the other roll varieties.

I have been so excited for the opening of this establishment. Finally it opened and I had a fabulous experience here! I only had a sushi burrito, but that’s all I needed to judge. The staff was super friendly and helpful to us first timers. They told us what they thought would be good with my sushi burrito, and were honest with us about what wouldn’t be. Overall, my very anticipated sushi burrito was great! I got salmon and tuna($ 2 for extra«inspiration“or meat, well worth it). There was a generous amount of meat on the burrito, and it did not taste fishy, it actually was pretty fresh! I also got guacamole, cucumber, oshinko, and spicy mayo. Next time, I will 86 the oshinko. One thing I would say is to cut up the cucumber more to make it thinner, it was too thick and was falling out. Except that, it was very yummy! I want to come back soon and explore other options! So happy this place opened, definitely a great asset to the Morristown area! P. S. I hope it creates a delivery option soon :)

Absolutely loved this place. I picked my own ingredients and built a masterpiece. Multi grain rice, spicy tuna, guacamole, carrots, mango and miso sauce. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty. Service was great. Very nice people. I’m looking forward to going back.

Loved the concept from what I saw online(never had a sushi burrito and I’ve been wanting to try one for quite some time) so I decided to check it out on a weekday. Upon coming in, you walk to the counter and order your food and the staff will call your name when the food is ready. I love how there are inspiration quotes all over the wall, it was cute. The interior was clean. But most importantly, the food was just alright. I got the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen and I made my own sushi burrito. I was going to get one of the signature rolls but then I realized you can get the same exact ingredients if you create your own for $ 1 less. I just ordered all the ingredients that were in the American Dream roll. I thought the ramen was kind of pricey for the portion size they give you and they also skimp on the meat. The ramen was $ 12 and they serve it in a cheap plastic container. I don’t know about you but if I’m paying that much for ramen I would expect better presentation. All that plastic is understandable if you are getting takeout but I was dining in. The tasted okay, a little too greasy/oily for my taste. I rather go to Ani Ramen in Montclair or go to Bergen County. The sushi burrito I got($ 9) was wrapped very poorly. It was not tightly wrapped so it was pretty difficult to eat, it kept falling apart. I don’t think I’ll be coming back any time soon. Nothing really impressed me and it’s not worth the price in my opinion.

Inspiration has the newest fad of sushi burritos($ 9 – 12). They also have ramen($ 12) and bao($ 6 for 2), as well as some fusion nachos($ 7), shrimp guac($ 7) and Asian spiced popcorn chicken($ 5). Impressions: * This is definitely the place to go if you want sushi, but you’re really hungry. It’s not anything near traditional sushi, but it has elements of it. Honestly I like the rolls as stand alone. * Ramen — this is less than ani ramen in Montclair, but not as good imo. It’s good if you’re craving it in Morristown. I hate that they serve it in flimsy take out bowls, but it’s nice if you want to take it home. * Bao — they’re tasty! Not as good as ones from momofuku or ani, but still really tasty. I had the pork and other people I came with got the shrimp bao. I’ve had both the American Dream roll and the Einstein roll and I really liked both of them. I like being able to get mango and guac in them, as it’s not a typical sushi addition but I still love both. You can get a roll for $ 1 less just for building it from scratch than as a signature roll. Overall I’d give it 3 stars for food, and one for service.

I wanted so much to like this place because I love ramen. While there is promise, the overall experience is mediocre. First of all, we ordered ramen to eat in and it comes in the flimsiest bowl I have ever seen and it is for one time use. Not only is it wasteful but it totally cheapens the experience to eat out of a penny bowl with plastic spoon. It just feels cheap. If they invested in some ceramic bowls it would go a long way. The ramen was tasty but it was a tiny bowl for the price. We ended up trying a sushiritto because we were still hungry. It feels gimmicky to me as I don’t think every food should be served burrito style. I prefer more traditional sushi. In the end I hope this place improves but it has a long way to go. I will have to go to Montclair to Ani Ramen if I want good ramen in NJ.

Checked out this new lunch place and enjoyed it. I had the Soyu Ramen. I have never had real ramen, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. But I enjoyed my bowl. Love the inspirational quotes on the walls. I’ll be back to try other menu items. It was pretty busy in there too which is great to see! Morristown always needs more fast lunch places!

A nice attempt at nouveau Japanese food, fast casual style. I only ordered the ramen, so perhaps the sushi burritos(sushi rolls) are better, but the ramen is middling. I tend to base first impressions on «spicy ramen,» so I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. It… is…okay. The meat was mainly fat with very little else on it — basically ended up taking it all out of the bowl. Noodles were not egg based(or at least the staff said they weren’t). The egg in the broth was good, however, and the noodles were cooked properly. Precious little else in the bowl except for scallions as far as I could tell. The broth itself was not very spicy, although it was reddish. I may be more attuned to spicy food now, but it definitely needed a lot more togarashi to have taste. Green tea was good, and especially with lychee. I wouldn’t come here for the ramen again, but I will have to update this review if and when I try the«sushi burrito.»

Great place for Japanese style comfort food. Great ramen. And great sushi rolls. Top of my fave list for restaurants in Morristown now. I got two rolls, the bao, and a soup. Ate it all. Will be back soon.

Just tried this place out and the staff was great. I had the rice bowl which was basically like an upscale chipotle burrito bowl only everything was like super fresh. I liked the inspirational quotes around the restaurant and staff more than the food, but if you’re super into sushi than you should check this place out!

I went here with work friends and it was definitely a good experience. They have motivational quotes written all over the wall making the vibe very hip and cool. The service was great as well, everyone was very friendly and checked up on us. We had a big group so we had to put the tables together and they didn’t give us any problems about it. However, I do have to take 2 stars away because the ramen was not as good as I thought it would be. I got the spicy tonkotsu and although It was decent I have had better ramen before. The broth was a little oily and the pork had a lot of fat on it. It does hit the spot on a rainy day. My coworker got the sushi burrito and said it was decent and that it had more rice than filling. Overall my experience was good but the food could be better. Great for a fast lunch during the work week!

I got the build your own rice bowl and it was just ok. I am not a big fish person so I was happy they had chicken on the menu but they ran out of grilled chicken and I ended up with popcorn chicken. I added peanuts(crushed not whole) and fried onions(more like onion essence). I topped it with teriyaki sauce. Rice was perfectly cooked but the sweet popcorn chicken and teriyaki sauce did not mix well for me. I would like to see a build your own ramen bowl on the menu

Rice bowl is ok and the spicy tonkatsu ramen is very good, but the nori didn’t quite wrap around my sushi burrito so it was a bit of a challenge to eat! Or maybe you want tuna nachos? Service was fast & friendly, a loud & enthusiastic opening-day crowd packed the place. Consider this a first visit, don’t take the stars too seriously. We started with the pork bao, a thick steamed flat bun with slices of roasted pork, sauce and a bit of lettuce, 2 for $ 6. Nice flavor and chew, but they came out the same time as our food so didn’t really work as an app. That ramen($ 12) had thick slices of fatty roasted pork, egg, many noodles and a really great broth, just spicy enough to get my attention, I recommend it. An American Dream burrito was basically the fattest sushi roll ever($ 10), stuffed with rice, cuke, mango, guac, tuna and spicy mayo all wrapped in nori, very good flavor but you ain’t eating this with chopsticks lol. Crispy chicken in a rice bowl($ 9) was done properly but I can’t recommend teriyaki sauce over the top, that sauce was almost obnoxiously sweet. Vegetarian rating: 4 stars bcos rolls, bowls and ramen are all available completely without animal protein. You might choose rice or salad to fill your bowl, then top with cabbage, oshinko(pickles), kimchee, asparagus, mushrooms and that’s just half the options. Lots of tall counters and barstools, and a few tables too. This is more a take-out then a dine-in place. And because of that, Inspiration Roll is a trash-producing machine, everything is in a to-go container, even the ramen when you eat in. Maybe someday they’ll add a dishwasher and proper bowls? BYO sake, but I doubt you’ll be lingering long here.
