I’ve driven by this many, many times and I couldn’t get over my childhood memories of going to the old A & W Rootbeer drive in that used to be here. Tonight some friends suggested we stop in for a quick, delicious and inexpensive dinner before the movies. What a treat! Yes, it’s a dive, hole in the wall but the best always are! I had the super taco(beef) and a ceviche de camaron tostada with a cold Pacifico — Yum! Such nice ladies that work there. Check it out. They also had the Giants game on for the World Series… a bonus but they lost :(

NOSTARS. This restaurant is the WORSE in the world, I am embarrassed to even say this is a Mexican restaurant; this is not reflective of my Mexican people. Mexicans are warm, loving and welcome; to us Mexicans food is a sacred ritual that brings people of all races and socioeconomic status together. The owner(an old grumpy woman with bad dental work or as we would say in my country«Vieja Fodonga») felt offended when we told her the burrito’s meat had a burned aftertaste. She replied«the cameras are taping» as if we were committing a crime. First and foremost, we told her we did not want the money back, just to let her know the burrito was not good for her own benefit, what was crazy is that I asked her to taste it so she could see what I was talking about and she was like«no way, why should I taste that?», Hahahahaha!!, SHEWASEVENAFRAIDTOTASTEHEROWNFOOD. Any ways, she acted as if we told her we would kidnap her Chihuahua!!!, my friend and co-worker(Caucasian and not knowledge of the Spanish language) was in complete state of shock of the owner’s reaction to an honest well intended comment from us good paying customers. But what was most shocking is when the business owner decided that we should never come back to her restaurant because according to her we «complain» too much… Her own words were«I don’t ask you to come to eat to my restaurant, I don’t invite you, you come on your own»(so basically put up with it and eat the rotten food), any ways she continued to say«so leave and never come back!» This is what uneducated business owner sounds like. That is perfectly okay we will never come back, we will take our hard earned dollars to a restaurant that can provide us with outstanding customer service and good healthy food, but not until we post this on the World Wide Web, contact the better business bureau and the local radio station. This is an update to my original review, it has been 2 hours since my lunch at this restaurant and my stomach is still on fire. I am trying my best to focus on work but I have been tossing and turning since my lunch experience at this so called Mexican Taqueria, perhaps they should change their name to TAQUERIAVENENOSA!

It’s one of my favorite«dive» Mexican Resturants. Brush up on your Spanish though, it’s «authentic» Mexican food, ok? There is some stuff I am even afraid to eat on the menu, but from what I have had, it’s all good. It’s a bit on the pricy side, but the food is worth it if you want your money’s worth; this is the place. It’s got an old fashioned jukebox with mostly Spanish Music and old 80’s music.
