So my buddy talked me into trying Central. The Gnocchi with pork was underwhelming for $ 24. I’ve had more pork in a ½ slice of bacon. The«pork» looked like what was left in the pan after cooking a slice of bacon. The entire«bowl» took less than 4 minutes to eat, had to go finish dinner at another establishment.

WOW Montgomery has high class food! Ok that was a little mean, but kind of true. In a food Mecca city such as Charleston, this restaurant wouldn’t stand out, but in Montgomery it is top notch. The food was delicious and the service superb. This was also the first place I had gotten a Moscow Mule with Bulleit Rye instead of vodka, and I haven’t gone back since. Their appetizers are especially good. Kinda expensive, but if you are willing to drop some moolah for some great food, this is the place to be.

Probably my favorite place in Montgomery. Had previously had the pork shank, which was really delicious, along with the pimento cheese plate starter. The atmosphere was wonderful after following a very short wait to be seated. This time around I had the catch of the day which was the lightly fried tilefish placed upon a bed of popcorn grits with Brussel sprouts on the side. The fish was cooked perfect and if you have never had tilefish, it’s very similar to Chilean sea bass, so don’t pass up the opportunity. However, the Brussel sprouts were a bit salty and the overall price was a little steep which kept it from getting 5 stars.

Excellent ambience and décor nice background upbeat music. the customer service is wonderful. Manager went out of his way to make sure my husbands short rib was cooked to perfection. Gotta say. Bar staff didn’t talk much.(expected more conversation) and about the cheese platter… I’ve had better.

Came here for a business dinner when I was in Montgomery. Loved everything about this place! We started with the Pimento cheese and the Gulf Tuna dip. I feel like pimento cheese is hard to screw up, at its worst its still decent. The Gulf Tuna dip was really good though. Lemme tell you about that braised short rib though… It will change your life!!! It was so damn good. The ambiance at the place is also perfect. We went on a week night and it was still buzzing!

Low and behold there is real dining in Montgomery AL. After a year of hitting chains and disappointments in the Montgomery food scene, Central was a welcome change. Came in on a Thursday night without a wait. We ordered a cheese plate, short rib and strip steak. Everything was good but the short rib was the star. They have a special 50% off wine bottles that was a great deal. We had the Smith and Hook Cabernet that was well worth the $ 24. At that price experiment.

Central dishes up excellent food in Montgomery! We arrived for an early dinner on a Saturday night and the wait staff appeared to be awaiting our arrival. From the moment we sat down, the service was spectacular! Bethany took great care of us. We started with the goat cheese and honey tart, as well as the lamb meatballs. The tart was a unique take on a cheese tart, and one that I hadn’t had before. The tzatziki sauce for the lamb meatballs was very smooth with a slight hint of sweetness that really complemented the lamb well. The short rib basically fell apart with my fork. Tender, well-seasoned, and sitting on a bed of sweet potatoes is definitely the way to serve beef. Add in a side of brussels sprouts and Central really made this a solid meal. The truffle parmesan fries with the steak were very tasty. Seasoning on fries goes a long way in my book! Dessert did not disappoint. I went with the popular chocolate cake with fudge pecan icing and an anglaise sauce. I also tasted the cinnamon bun bread pudding, which was very nicely done. It definitely had all the right cinnamonny tones and while it was moist, it was not soggy or gooey. It was a light bread pudding that was very welcomed at the end of this meal. The well-appointed wood montage dining room created a cozy atmosphere on a chilly Alabama night. This is a great option for dinner in downtown Montgomery.

Trendy, upscale restaurant in downtown Montgomery. Plenty of seating areas both indoors and outdoors. We sat outside as we were a large group and wanted to avoid the loud music inside. Menu is impressive with a large variety. They also have daily specials that are not included in the menu, so make sure to inquire with the server. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. We tried the vegetable lasagna with a house special sauce and brim chicken. We also heard good things about the steak dinner. Highly recommend this place, although it can be a little pricey.

My husband and I had just arrived in Montgomery, AL and were looking for a spot to have dinner. We happened upon this spot and it was phenomenal! We walked in and the hostess Ashley greeted us. We asked to see a menu so that we could decide if we wanted to eat there. She handed us a menu and shared with us her favorite dishes. I was sold at that point. I loved that she took time to tell us what was good! After we were seated Robert our sever took great care of us. We ordered the brine chicken and shrimp and grits. Man that food was beyond great!!! For desert we had the cream brûlée. The best! We are literally driving to our hotel and I had to make sure I Unilocaled this place. If you like a good vibe, great service and food, then try this spot out!

The central is a nice location for a date night. We enjoyed our evening and our server, Kim, did a great job that evening. The pork chop was delicious and the pimento cheese appetizer was very satisfying. The atmosphere is and eclectic vintage industrial and farmhouse genre. Dress is semi formal.

I went here when in Montgomery for a work meeting last week. I ordered the salmon salad. It was delicious. I expected it to not be that great but it was a freshly cooked salmon on top of a field of greens. It was so good. I would order it next time as well.

Okay, finally somewhere besides Atlanta that has Sour beer on Draft! Second time here and still does not disappoint. Prices are fantastic for the quality of ingredients and preparation. I had the NY strip, cooked perfect and glazed with some kind of goodness;) with the duck fat fresh cut fries soooo bad but soooo good!

Central has been a bit inconsistent when I have come in for lunch and dinner. I had an incredible salmon and sweet potato dish for dinner earlier this year and really enjoyed the fish tacos for lunch. Another time I came in for dinner, however, I(and others in my group) had a very bland dish. Some friends have also had the same inconsistency issue. I have had excellent service each time I have come, even when I was in a big group. The Central mule is great and so are the pimento cheese appetizers. As others mentioned, the room can be loud when it is busy. All in all, good for a fancy meal.

Excellent choice for American and new-Southern food. Nice cocktail choice, really enjoyed the Southern Mule, with respectable wine and beer list. Start with Flat bread and Pimento Cheese. Really good. I had the roasted quail with crispy Brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes. Super good. For a Tuesday evening, this place was jumping. Montgomery, you’re lucky to have this spot.
