I ordered 2 rolls of Spicy Tuna(1 order=8 rolls) and Salmon, Fatty Yellowtail, and Sea Urchin Sushi. The Spicy Tuna rolls had onions in it, which I found weird. The Salmon and Fatty Yellowtail was good. The Sea Urchin was really bad and I had to spit it out. The rice overall was lacking in flavor and the ginger was pink(which I found weird as well). I saw many good reviews of this place and they even had a sign saying Fox 11 had appraised them but this was definitely not a good place to go. A bit too trendy for my taste.

We call it the crab roll. Seemingly every roll is mostly crab salad with some topping. The rolls are humongous. The price is right… and the food is good

I’ve been here about a dozen times and this place keeps getting better and better. Whether or not it’s busy or completely empty, all the food is freshly made and delicious. I always have to start with their garlic edamame, it’s so flavorful and a great beginning to an always excellent meal.

Everything was really good, we had the 18 piece sashimi for $ 19.96 and the crunch unagi roll for $ 9.95, the service was fine, unlike what has been said of it being really slow. Also had the happy hour beer, buy one get the second for .99 cents! Awesome meal was really satisfied!

The photos say it all!!! Rare sushi restaurant that have a huge selection of large portion of sushi dishes. This is the only place I’ve found that serves warm baked sushi as well as traditional and fusion sushi. Come try this place bring a group and order family style. You won’t be disappointed.

Great food, great price The waiter took a little to long to take our order I felt like they forgot about us it had to take my husband to get the waiter in order for us to order. But the place was nice and food was great

Great sushi, great price, service is ok. They need to work on their customer service skills :/ example, I got charged for four beers when I only ordered two but I’m assuming since it was a different waitress who brought them, they each added the two orders of beers to my bill. The girl got a little defensive stating she remembers bringing us the beer, which annoyed me but I didn’t get upset, gave them the benefit of the doubt, that they were busy. An apology would have been nice though! I felt as if they thought I was lying. They just dropped of the check and said, ok it’s been fixed and walked away. Don’t get me wrong the girls can be really nice here but management is to blame. Other than that, the sushi here is pretty damn good lol

Surprisingly good, excellent chicken and Teriyaki and yaki soba. Service was above average. Very busy on a Sunday night.

Good food! Rolls are huge! Free Miso soup is a plus. Not too expensive. Service was lacking from my server but once asked another server for items she was all over it and she wasn’t even getting the tip I bet… Good job for her! Definitely go and try this place out

No smile, no greeting, we were just asked how many and sat down. The girl looked miserable to be there. A couple of the waitresses were nice but inattentive, although it wasn’t a busy night, they were distracted. Came in on a referral, so I got my hopes up prematurely. Tried not expecting much, since, in all honesty, I’m a sushi snob, but whoa… I was so disgusted, I will never come back here. I was appalled by the service, or lack of service, and the sushi rolls were huge, but all rice. So much rice, that you couldn’t taste anything else. I ordered sushi pieces and the tuna was hot pink. The smallest serving of seaweed salad was served over a bitter green salad. Miso soup was served to everyone and it was actually pretty good. I had kids with me and they ordered the chicken teriyaki kids meal and were told I’d be charged an adult price because they were over 10, but we still got a kids size. Plus, one of kids was actually 10.

Great sushi I like that I can choose 5 piece rolls and choose a variety. A little crowded with a lot of tables. I am giving one less star because when they are busy, they lose track of your order. I am also not happy about their parking. They have a big parking lot but theirs hardly ever parking. I’ve noticed that people who live across the street take up spots. Overall good is great sushi rolls are bigger then regular

This is my favorite spot for sushi, you got the best price to serving size ratio. Price to taste ratio and the taste is Awesome!!! You can’t go wrong with fresh rolls to crunchy rolls they let you add on if possible obviously a bit extra. Drinks and beer and wine are available by the cup or the bottle. The service is quick and friendly we are seated pretty quick the place does get busy but the staff is as I said pretty quick and YOUARENEVERRUSHED! the food again is soooooo good! Awesome! I’ve tried many spots and so far this is my favorite. There are tv screens and music going on so know that it is a lively spot, not meant for a quiet romantic night. Awesome vibe all kinds of people come through to have this spots great sushi. This is my second check in but I’ve been here over 15 times as I also work near by. But I drive from bellflower just to eat here on my own time.

This place was packed!!! Best sushi in Montebello . Would have gotten more stars but a few things bugged me. The flavors were good but the rolls were too big. Sushi is meant to be in one bite. The size made it difficult to eat, if they were just a bit smaller it would have been more enjoyable. The rolls have alot of rice, but also alot of fish. Reduce the rice and it would be perfect. Will definitely will be returning.

This place was delicious! We met up with our realtor who is also a good friend,(if you need a realtor, contact Remo the Realtor!) Anyways, he suggested this place and it was great! The portions are big enough to share with your whole party. The beer was cold and the sushi menu has a lot of options! My favorite was definitely the fireman roll! Spicy and delicious!

I was in Monte-ghetto i mean Montebello for a few hours and my friend and I had a sudden craving for Sushi! My friend suggested Sakura so we checked in and they weren’t that busy. There was no yelling in Japanese or welcome of any sort when we walked in… which isn’t that big of a deal. but still. i noticed the difference. It also kind of made me appreciate the yelling in Japanese at my regular sushi spots now because i feel more of the culture experience coming through. Anyways… besides not feeling welcomed, the service was pretty good. Our waitress was nice and didn’t give us a hard time when it came to us asking for our sauces. The food was okay. I was kind of upset because I got full SO fast! I BARELYATE! There was just so much rice packed in each bite and all the sauce on top didn’t help. We ordered 3 different rolls but we packed pretty much everything back up and took it home… which sucks cuz. who eats leftover sushi?!(Not me!) My suggestion, if you do decide to dine here, would be to ask for your rolls with light rice. Maybe then you’ll be able to enjoy your meal without that heavy«Im so full» feeling.

This is our favorite sushi place. The prices are perfect for the amount of food they give you. They offer full 8 rolls or half rolls(about 5 – 6). Since the rolls are pretty big, we typically order the half rolls but get a variety of different kinds. It also comes with some miso soup. I like their Spicy Mexican roll and Crunchy Roll. They also have fresh ones and of course their specials. The service was okay. They are attentive if they aren’t busy. The tables are a bit drab and the environment is ‘cozy’. Tables are very close to each other. Despite that, the food is great, portions are great for the price.

The Salmon steak, short ribs, pot stickers, seared tuna salad ROCKS!!! Most of the waitresses are efficient and nice, but can tell when a couple of them are not having a good day, a lot of eye rolling is experienced.

This is probably the most poppin restaurant during weekday lunch time in the commerce/montebello work area. There’s always a wait during lunch so best bet is to try to come early!(Or later after the rush is over!) I’ve been here twice so far with my coworkers. The most recent experience wasn’t as good as my first one. My group got here around 12PM and most of the tables were already full. We had a group of 16 people and had to split up into 3 tables. Reasons why our experience wasn’t so great: –Service was SUPER slow. Everyone in our party had to try multiple times to wave down the waitresses. At one point I even got the waitress’ attention(we made eye contact) and she jus turned her head and totally ignored me! –One of our tables didn’t get any utensils, plates, placemats or miso soup for the longest time(they had to bring it up to the waitresses before they even realized). Their food actually came out before they even had utensils. –Food took FOREVER to come out. We got there at 12PM and we didn’t start eating until 1PM… –I found it strange that I had avocado in my sashimi salad the last time I went, but they didn’t serve it in my salad this time… they said they don’t usually put avocado in there. Weird. Food wise, however, it’s not bad. I mean it’s not great either. The portions are very big, but if you order sushi, please be aware that most of the filling is imitation crab, which is why the rolls are so huge. One of my coworkers did comment that the chicken in her mango chicken salad was very dry and hard(no flavor). The bad service outweighs the okay food. Sorry Sakura, we probably won’t be returning.

The best sushi places around montebello/commerce area. I always come during lunch with my coworkers, I notice on Fridays they’re extremely busy during lunch hours, so avoid Friday’s if you have a short lunch! The sushi rolls are huge!!! I love that you could order 5 piece rolls instead of the whole thing, that way you can try multiple rolls on the menu. Things I recommend: — bento box: this came with sooo much food, ended up eating the other half for dinner. Definitely worth the price — salmon sashimi, it’s super fresh and it’s pretty thick slices for its price — Latin roll — Salmon California roll — nemo roll Would come back to try more stuff on the menu, oh and they have happy hour all day, which is a plus!
