Zen Buffet

This place is great. All you can each sushi for under $ 15, can’t beat that. Sushi is really fresh from my experience. I think this place is great for a buffet type setting. If your in the mood for sushi, this is the place to go

I think this place deserves better reviews! If you like chinese food and seafood I recommend coming here. Everything I tried was good and when I go the sushi is very fresh!

You can get Chinese food, sushi, crab, BBQ, Mongolian noodles, salads, desserts. Fast and easy and of course good fresh meals constantly being served. I thought it was great.

This place was horrible. I was very disappointed and I’ve had much better. The only thing good here was the shrimp and corn. The waitresses are mean and are always staring at you. Whoever says that this place is good must not have any working taste buds and have probably never ate chinese food outside of Pico Rivera!

I normally don’t do buffets but I was out voted by the wife and kids. This is truly the worst chinese buffet that I have been to. From the taste all the way to the presentation of the food. The waiter was very attentive but that could be because the place was nearly empty… I see why. I will not repeat and I plan to avoid this place at all cost.

Don’t know we’re start this place was not that bad but the last 2 two times has me very disappointed I seriously don’t know what there doing either saving gas or power but the food is not hot more like Luke warm the roast beef might is well be frozen it’s cold not even the heat light warms it the rest of the food seems like it’s been sitting there for quite some time they will not add fresh hot food till the portion that is out is completely or almost gone the rice and noodle been under the light to long it’s dry and old tasting this place brings down the zen buffet name don’t go on Sunday ridiculous what they charge for run of the mill food !! Save your money and go somewhere else I will never return to this buffet bunch of penny pinchers! You been warned

Nastiest place i ever come the food is dry it taste rotten plus your bearly 20 to 30 mins their and their already giving you the receipt never coming back to this dirty place

The food is not very good, orange chicken was more like orange chicharron chicken, your better offf going to the restaurants near by.

Wow, I wish a zero star rating existed. I’m not sure what was worse here… the food, cleanliness or the service. First off the employees are extremely rude and pushy. Polite friendly service would have made up for the other areas they failed in.
The food was dried out, the meat was hard to chew, it wasn’t very flavorful. Lots of the items were weird and looked like they had been sitting out for a significant amount of time. The meat mostly all tasted the same, which wasn’t very good. The food wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t good. The grossest part of the entire meal was watching an older employee in the buffet area picking up scraps of food that had fallen on to dirty surfaces and putting it back in the full trays of food on the buffet. I brought this to the attention of the staff members and they didn’t care or seem bothered by his actions whatsoever. The employee was hovering and rushing me to get out. I paid and got out of there as fast as I could. I will NEVER be back. So so disgusted that they put dirty food in the buffet trays.

This used to be my favorite Chinese buffet after so long I decided to go instead of hitting my local Panda Express worsed mistake ever food looks and tastes old ewwwww ! Quality sucks and I hate how the staff just keeps looking at you all the time I should’ve really read the reviews before going inn

I wouldn’t normally leave a review buuuut… I’m a bit disappointed.
I’ve been coming here for quite a while and the past two times have not been so great. The food here is OK. Not something to brag about. I have to agree with other reviews, it does feel as if they leave out their food for a while. Some of the pastries they had today seemed a bit stale. :(
Also, the staff is extremely nice but sometimes watch your every move way too often. My family was a bit uncomfortable.

Yikes! Stay away. The food is absolutely terrible. Quite possibly the worst food I have ever tasted. Panda across the street will provide you with waaaaaaaay better chinese food. Yuk!

Great place to eat and enjoy a variety of food. Everything was fresh the place was incredibly clean and their were not a lot of people so it was nice to not feel so overwhelmed with grabbing food. I loved the sushi so fresh! the staff was also very attentive to us from start to finish always refilling our drinks and taking our plates away. Everything about it was ¹⁰⁄₁₀ no complaints

Pretty good place for a Chinese/​Japanese food craving. Some of the staff are nice making sure our needs are met. Others are extremely rude and disrespectful. It depends on who gets you is the experience you are going to encounter. Overall I really like the food. The price is reasonable. I will definitely continue doing business here hoping to receive better customer service.

This place might have been the worse restaurant I’ve ever been to. I checked Unilocal reviews before I went and even though most warned about this place I went. We got seated and went to fill our plates and I went straight to the seafood. Okay this part gets a little gross … So I see shrimp wrapped in bacon so of course I grabbed a few along with other things and when I got back to our table I noticed an ugly smell but I couldn’t pin point what it was. My first bit was the shrimp wrapped in bacon and I swear to you I’ve never smelled or tasted anything worse. The meat was rotten and my body literally didn’t let me even swallow. After gagging and trying to wash it down for a good few minutes with the tap water they brought us I spoke to the lady at the front and she said «well no other customers are complaining» …
That alone shows how disgusting this place is. Not just the food but the employees with terrible service who obviously know about the rotting food but do nothing. So gross and will NEVER eat at this place again.

The food is not fresh at all. I feel like it’s been sitting there for about 3 days straight. The sushi was not fresh either I came here because I loved the one at the town center in Lakewood but this one is nothing compared to the other zen buffet. The next day I woke up with the worse stomachache

The place my boyfriend and his family were hoping to go to was packed. So we ended up here. It has most of the items most chinese or asian fusion buffets have. However, there are only a few items here that are passable.
The fried rice, rice vermicelli and some of the fruits if you look carefully are among the better items. For the most part, it does taste old as most reviewers have mentioned. In fact some of the items seemed to be extra greasy in attempts to hide the fact it’s not freshly prepared. The place was not very packed despite it being the weekend and a majority of the food looked as if it had been sitting there for hours.
Needless to say, I walked out hungry and disappointed. Please don’t waste your time or money here.

Well, I tend to agree w/​the recent reviews here. Came here for my birthday, hubby’s surprise. He knows I love seafood and knows my frustration w/​my issues of what to eat, since my diagnosis last year. Sucks, it’s boring and I hate that I’m limited in what food to eat. As for this place, I was happy and satisfied, but yeah I’m w/​all the other people recently — it was OK, but not great. And the restaurant, which opened up in the recent past 8 – 10 years appears to really be dated. The table we ate at was showing signs of being worn out. (Which made me hope that they clean it up well??). Some of the food did appear to be sitting there quite a while. And finally the quality and taste… hmmmm, yup it was just OK. Nothing to brag about. Prices aren’t really too bad, but yeah you kind of have high expectations though.
Maybe it’s just this location. I am still hopeful there might be one Zen Buffet that is better.
One thing though is the employees were extremely helpful and polite.
Best times are always the weeknights except Friday nights & weekends, can imagine are packed.

We ate there last week around 6pm. The price for our kids was great $ 2 for the 2 year old and $ 5 for the 5 year old The staff is nice and friendly and it was clean inside.
Unfortunately the food was old and looked like it had been sitting there for hours. It was bland and not worth the $ 12.99 per adult that we paid.

I love their rice noodles. I love their frog legs. The mussels and squid are yummy. To die for are their fried plantain. If I don’t worry about packing a lot of pounds I will come here everyday.
My waitresses are friendly and nice.
