I’ve been to this place multiple times over the years. You can never go wrong with a «____bowl». They are all pretty good. The meats have good flavor and are always cooked very nicely. I always The cost is pretty low(like $ 5 or less for a chicken bowl!). The Korean tacos are also a very highly recommended item. The soups have been good the few times I’ve had them(I’m not much of a soup person). The staff has always been good. The guy at the register(I think the owner?) is always upbeat and charismatic. He’s a cool guy and can give recommendations if you’re unsure. In all the time I’ve ever eaten there(at least 2 dozen) I only had one bad experience. My avocados were dark brown once when I had them put on top(I got it to go so I had no proof). The only other drawback is that they aren’t open on weekends at all. Other than those drawbacks everything has been great.

Really good!!! My coworker got me a chicken teriyaki bowl for lunch and I came back for another one for dinner. Food is clean, quality and tastes super good. So happy to find this place. I will become a regular.

Now this place is like one of those little joints that you find and are just so happy you did. The tacos alone are simply wonderful but are a little small. Eating 3 of them is not a challenge at all. Lately though, I have been eating the spicy chicken bowls with avocado and it is amazing. For a lunch special that comes with the bowl, with additional avocado, drink and a side(I get macaroni) it does run about $ 10 but I never have felt like I just overate like I do at Panda. Place is pretty clean and they have some good service. Parking can be tricky at times but since I normally just hit up 7 – 11 which is right next to the place I just park on the street next to the shop. A recommend if you are in the area and hungry.

Came here and was really pleased. The service was outstanding as well. Food was delicious. What more do you need? Places like these are not that common. I tried their Korean Beef Taco and it had great flavor minus the grease. Husband tried the extra spicy combo plate and he loved it. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba and it was tasty and fresh. I definitely recommend this place.

This is literally the best teriyaki plate that I’ve ever had in my life. Super cheap for what you get too. Wish it was close to my home! The owner(Dave) is super chill too!

They are only open from on the weekdays from 10am to 7pm but really worth the effort. I’m not much for super spicy stuff but I make an exception for this place. I haven’t had the tacos but if they are anything like the bowls then they will not disappoint.

Today I visited this place for the second time. Wasn’t impressed at all. I was looking forward to their spicy chicken place, all steamed veggies, brown rice, avocado and green onions. The plate came and there was only broccoli, no avocado or green onions. We had to ask specifically why just the broccoli… they were out of the other veggies… they had to bring the green onions(barely enough for one person) and, of course, they had to charge me an extra $ 1.40 for a few thinly sliced avocado pieces. The were eager to confirm that I will pay for the avocado in the end, even though they are willing to give it to me before I paid. So over it… the rest of the food was okay. Don’t think that I will be back there again. Too many other places worth going to for me to ever come back to The Chicken Bowl in Montebello.

Travelling Yeplers Beware, no restrooms. Not friendly to traveling foodies, no restroom available. My review is strictly for the lack of restrooms which is not welcoming to Unilocalin traveling foodies. I wish the operator most success in his endeavors. Unilocalers Beware, no bathrooms!

Yum! This is what you call a hole in the wall that serves delicious food. The interior is definitely really small. There’s only around 5 tables inside. During work lunch rushes, it might be hard to find a table, so either come early or you can take it to go! I’ve been here three times so far and every time was delicious and amazing. I’ve gotten both just the chicken bowl and the chicken plate before. The chicken bowl comes with just chicken and rice underneath. You can add avocados for $ 1 more and also pay $ 1 more for brown rice. The chicken plate comes with chicken, rice and your choice of 2 sides. Some sides are mac salad, kimchi and steamed veggies. One thing that I am obsessed with here is their«white sauce!!!» Omg I think it’s just probably some kind of mayo that they made, but omg it’s like amazing. I put that on my chicken and my rice and it’s like heaven. Hahaha. Besides chicken, they also have the option of beef, spicy chicken and pork. Love, love this place! The people who work here are also very nice too! :)

So glad I found this gem, only less than a mile from where I work. No more driving to flame broiler! Their chicken bowl is so affordable and delicious, only $ 4.59! What a steal! That’s almost $ 2 less than flame broiler. The first time I ordered a plate, which was a huge mistake cause I couldn’t even finish half of the food, the portion was so huge! Ended up taking it togo and had the rest for dinner. Definitely go for the bowls if you don’t have a big appetite, it’s the perfect amount of food. The spicy chicken is really flavorful, I don’t even need the teriyaki sauce for it. I have yet to try the beef and pork. Service is always friendly, looking forward to coming back whenever I don’t have lunch packed :)

So glad I found this place to fulfill my chicken teriyaki craving near work! I used to go to Flame Broiler a lot but I wanted to try a different place for lunch. I ordered their Spicy Chicken Bowl with brown rice and it was delicious! The meat was cooked very well and I like the slight spicy kick you get from the sauce. You also get the option to add on green onions, if you want. The service was great and it was reasonably priced. And they give you generous portions! The only downside is that the parking lot is really small so you may have to find parking on the street.

On my quest to find new and interesting places to eat for lunch, I stumbled upon this gem all the way in Montebello. If you happen to be in the area and are looking for a great Chicken, Beef, pork bowl/plate restaurant… Then look no further. This place is pretty good and trust that I will be back VERYVERYSOON. If you’ve ever been to Jinza Teriyaki in Pomona, it’s similar to that but I think this place might have the edge… Location: Montebello bro… Parking: Kinda small… Teehee. Seating: It’s definitely a lunch spot. It’s kinda small. A few tables and not good for huge groups. Though, a lot of people do get their orders to go. Food: Chicken: Their staple dish. Pretty good. I enjoyed the onions as well. Pork: Delicious. You can actually adjust the spice level and mild was just perfect. I actually preferred this to the chicken. Beef: Didn’t get a chance to eat their bulgogi. Though, make no mistake my friends. I most certainly will. Sides: Mac Salad: ABSOLUTELYDELICIOUS. . They also had other sides such as veggies but when it comes to pairing with delicious meat who wants to do pair it with veggies?!? Miso Soup: I’d skip this one. *Also, don’t forget to ask for their white sauce and LATHER up your rice bowl/plate. YUMMY. Wish this place was down the street from where I lived cause I would be ther *50 cents substitute for Brown rice… LEGIT. *The owner is also a pretty cool guy. LOVEDTODAYSLUNCH… DAMN. I’m hungry now. Montebello & Chicken Bowl why can’t you be a 1 minute walk from out of my chair!!! I’m out… JY

As with all my favorite local joints, I found The Chicken Bowl through Unilocal on a fine afternoon while hanging out with my family. My mother and brother don’t live here in the LA area so anytime they come to visit is the perfect excuse to find new places to eat at. The process typically goes like this: Arleene: «What do you guys want to eat» Mother: «Whatever you guys want(always her answer)» Brother: «I feel like teriyaki, or rice bowl, or something along those lines» Arleene: «According to Unilocal, there is a place half a mile away with great reviews» And that’s basically how we found The Chicken Bowl. This place is a tiny spot in a shopping center that you will seriously miss unless you are looking for it. But make NOMISTAKE, this place is legit. The first time we came the cashier was a girl. Her service skills were out of this world good. She was attentive, she explained the menu items and she was patient while we debated on what to get. They have a good variety on their menu from triyaki, yakisoba, Korean tacos… wait, wait, can we just put our hands in the air for their Korean tacos? Ok. Thank you. All I have to say is WOW on the Korean tacos. To tell you my mother loved them so much, she makes me bring her here everytime she is in the area. That’s how dope they are! Last time we came, I think it was the owner that helped us and he is super friendly and professional as well. Food is awesome, customer service is right on… it’s safe to say I am kinda in love with this place!
