Nice place and friendly staff but they were out of the one thing I needed — webbing to repair a stool.

The best place to go for upholstery fabric. I can’t beleive I was about to go to that ridiculous place in Pasadena. Diaz’ store has amazoing selection of fabric and at reasonable prices. I had a great experience and it was very to the point. I did not have to linger about or wait for people to help. The store front is deceibving as it appears small from the outside. However once you go inside, it is a wareghouse of a varity of fabrics. Amazing place and worthwhile to try out.

Purchased a large roll of ¾ foam to reinforce my sofa cushions. Very inexpensive and good quality. Friendly service and had plenty in stock to choose from. Heading there today to buy a few more pieces.

I was trying to get some foam to make dog beds. This place was literally 5 minutes from home… who knew? The owner was very friendly and helpful. I was able to order foam in my custom size, plus I bought some upholstery tapestry remnants for a great price. Plus the experience was so personal. It’s a funky place, just the best kind of adventure and experience. Happy to support a small business in my ‘hood, too.

They’ve got a great selection of foam, zippers, and fabric along with many other things. Came here because I wanted to make a cushion for a bench seat and the foam at Home Depot was pretty beaten up. Super helpful folks and their remnants sell for $ 3/yd. Very reasonable!

This was our second stop of the day, wish it had been our first. Went from one upholstery shop to another and the difference was night and day. Our experience at Diaz upholstery was great. Staff is super helpful and if it wasn’t in stock, there was a quick solution to the problem. We got 7+ yards of fabric from their selection in stock at a great price. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgable staff. Will be back again!

I’m an engineer, who has built all kinds of fancy things, but a noob when it comes to sewing/stuffing/upholsterying, and from now on this would be my first choice to find fabric, zippers, foam etc on the cheap. They don’t have everything under the sun, but have enough to get in the ballpark, at a price ¼ that of most other places. My project is, I am redoing a fancy ergo office chair, that looks like it was attacked by a bear. New(high end $$) gel memory foam felt like it needed something decent to cover it with, despite my budget inclinations to use towels, I started looking around. Checking locally in WeHo, I found that most cloth was suprisingly pricey, $ 30/yd to $ 120/yd…which is ironically on the upper end, is about what the chair, or even a new chair costs. Staying in the Pasadena area I figured I should try again, so thanks to Unilocal I found Victor the awesome upholsterer(also on Unilocal), who said I should check this place out, in a place you’d swear is an eastern block country… Monrovia. After a bit of drive, and despite the GPS best intentions to mislead me(damn you android!), you end up in po dunk, where space is cheap, and thus businesses like this can thrive, and pass on savings to you brave soul. Though Ironically the nearby thrift store seems to be more expensive with less selection than places in WeHo. They have about 4 rows double sided of various fabrics, and cording and foam of all sizes along the side and back walls. Much of the material was kinda scratchy to me, and or not my style. After trolling around, I found at least 4 solid contenders and several nearby that were interesting possibilities. In the end I was able to score a nice soft gray ultrasuede for $ 8/yrd, that felt great on the uncovered hands/arms, and I’m sure my butt will like it too. Zippers was a $ 1. I paid cash as I didn’t see a credit/debit card terminal, so not sure they have them or not. Staff was friendly and quick to cut, tape so I could get on the road.

Remember the Ikea ad where the woman is running out of the store screaming at her husband to hurry with the car? That’s how I felt when we left this place. We got 8 yards of the fabric we wanted for a special project for less than the cost of one yard of beautiful but not quite right fabric we saw at another store. This place has close outs and is dimly lit, but a little effort can really pay off. Very good quality fabric.

Bought fabric here for my dining room chairs. Everything in stock was a closeout but lots of selection to choose from. Compared to Joann’s and Calico Corner it is dirt cheap. Paid $ 7 per yard for what would have easily cost 30 – 40 at another store. Great find!
