A friend told us about this restaurant… which is a hole in the wall in a strip mall. We went on a Tuesday night because of the specials. There are specials every Tuesday and Wednesday where you buy one full priced entrée and get the second for ½ price from a selected menu. I had the shrimp stuffed with crab meat. Absolutely perfectly prepared and very fresh. It came with a salad and two choices of carbs and the same with vegetables. My husband had the broiled shrimp dinner. We were so happy to have listened to our friends. The owners go to the Fulton Fish market for all of their seafood… and you can tell. This could easily become a weekly stop for us. There are only about 8 tables, so go early. Deanna(our waitress) was delightful. She is a family friend and has been there two years. The decorations are charming and the place very clean. If you are in the area, don’t miss this quality seafood restaurant.

This small place is an awesome little fish place in Monroe Twsp. Mary and Bob(owners) are special hosts and are very accommodating. Fish was fresh and prepared the right way. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely no other place in the area Like this. Home style ambience and cooking! Will always go back! BYOB is a Plus as well.

Very disappointed in this restaurant. The food was pricey and we were extremely disappointed in the food. The salmon was quite dry. We ordered mussels marinara and the marinara looked like tomato soup. The waitress had no interest in waitressing. The owner stopped at our table and asked how everything was and I said«adequate». She didn’t seems to care. The bread put on the table tasted like day old bread bought at the nearby supermarket. I would not recommend this place nor will I go back.

Positives: spotless restaurant, warm service from owners who care, reasonable prices. Negatives: the fried seafood platter simply was not very good. — That said — I would still give this restaurant another try.

I came on Unilocal and read the reviews and it sounded like a nice little place to try while I was in town. I walked in and no one was up front. I waited and someone that worked there walked by. He went into the dining area and walked by me again on his way to the kitchen. He came back out with bread for a table. The woman started to complain the bread was old and he started arguing with her. She seemed intoxicated but there is still no excuse to argue with a customer. He walked by me again and looked me up and down and kept walking. I walked out. Horrible service.

We went here on a Friday during Lent for dinner once. The place is small but we were still able to get a table. Frankly, I don’t remember too much about it. Nothing impressed me but nothing offended me either. It looks like they have better deals during lunch.

It’s a small family run place, but its severely overpriced for what you getting. Fish dishes are very basic that you can make at home and close to $ 20…no creativity at all on the menu. Items you can pick up walking a boardwalk somewhere. The food was at least tasty and I’ll give them that much but better places to spend money and leave with a wow factor. This place wont give you that.

Fish is definitely fresh. Ordered shrimp salad which was very good. Flounder sandwich was ok. You can order ahead which is a good idea because the wait for take out is at least 30 minutes.

This restaurant is great. They have nice service. All of them are friendly. Service is slow. It takes 10 minutes to order and 20 minutes to get your food. The bad part is that everything is expensive.

Went there late Saturday night and it was quiet due to the holidays. The owner served us which was nice. Décor is very sparse, but it’s nice. The lobster bisque was amazing. I had oysters which were so fresh and good. Some of the best I’ve ever had. I had the salmon with lump crab meat which was cooked perfectly. The other dishes were shrimp and done very well. I’m looking forward to going back there again.

Finding greatvseafood is like searching for your soul mate. You’ll find some to fill a purpose or a few one night stands, but finding that one is a long rough road. G&R is not a soul mate, but it is a good mistress. You’ll be happy to introduce your parents to her, and they in turn may be inclined to tell you how nice she is and that maybe you should settle down with her. You know where your heart ultimately lays though. G&R at first look is small and not a place you’d expect good food. It’s brightly lit and not very romantic, great for my purpose of dinner with the guys. There’s about 8 tables with seating for about 20. I was a bit surprised and worried to not see a wait on a Friday night during lent, but I was hoping the Unilocal gods were with me on this journey. So, I trusted the prior reviews and said to myself not to judge a book by its cover. The staff here is very friendly. We had the pleasure of having the owner serve us. The menu while appearing short is rather extensive when you consider the chef specials. Not only thst, but they will prepare your selection of fish to your own preference. Very few place do this now a days. I ordered the salmon broiled, and lobster bisque. The bisque was delightful, but missing something and could be improved. I’d suggest placing chilled lobster meat in the center and pouring the bisque over it at the table. I would pay more as an optional up sale for this. The salmon was excellent, and cooked to my liking. I would definitely recommend it. I will be back here, and suggest others try it.

I’d give them the benefit of doubt for having a slow service since they’re new. 10 minutes to take the order and 20 mins for the food for takeout, but it’s a family run restaurant and I think I understand what that usually entails. The interior that really hopes to make you feel you’re on the ocean, the signs for good fish not being cheap and the authentic straightforward demeanor give away the hard working, local origins of the owners. Had a chicken sandwich, a shrimp sandwich, lobster bisque and a New England Clam chowder. Cost me $ 37. The sandwiches were bland, but Indian and Mexican are my top two cuisines, so most food is bland to me. The soups were pretty good, however. The limited parking shared with wawa and half a dozen other busy restaurants and stores is also something to consider when planning your visit.

Okay so I went back to give it one more try. So glad I did. Ordered a bowl of lobster bisque holy cow yum! Creamy but not overly rich chunks of lobster. Me n soup.Mmm. definitely have to try it beyond explanation. I also had dinner special of broiled scrod with pepper sauce on side just in case I didn’t like it. A little too salty for me but light dipped it was good. Glad I did. Nice size of scrod almost couldn’t finish it. Dipped fish in sauce nice compliment. I ordered rice instead of potato good choice, vegetable medley was better this time cooked more. Broccoli, cauliflower n fresh green beans. Delish. Still left the broccoli. Lol. It also came with nice house salad n bread. Definitely worth a check in. or check it out.

Excellent atmosphere, the family dynamic only makes you want to return. Might I suggest the New England Clam Chowder, paired with a sandwich of your choice. Bring your significant other and a nice bottle of wine, you won’t be disappointed!

Came here on Saturday with my family since I was in Jersey for the night visiting. It had two things I love: seafood for less than NYC prices and no corkage fee on BYOB. The place is in the same shopping center as a bomb bagel place and nail salon so that’s good. The restaurant it’s is suuuuper low key, but really cute inside. The colors are all nice shades of blue and it’s obvious they sunk cash Ito renovating the place cause it looks brand new. The place opened last week but was pretty packed around 6 when we went, must have been word of mouth. There were a bunch of us so we tried the crab cakes, which weren’t huge but were very tasty, Alaskan King Crab Legs(yum), the Caesar salad that had the biggest scallops I’ve ever seen and the mussels. My boyfriend doesn’t love fish so he got the burger, which was decent, but honestly who gets a burger at a seafood restaurant anyway lol. All in all, it’s casual dinner spot and if you can get a table outside then you’re really in luck. I’ll be back next time I visit the fam for sure.
