Milano Pizza & Greek

The pizza was pretty good, and delivered in a decent amount of time. The cashier who answered the phone wasn’t necessarily rude, I just blunt.

This place is subpar, and far too expensive.
I ordered chicken kebab with rice (substitute salad) and grilled veggies. I got 5 chunks of chicken, salad, and 1 piece of roasted bell pepper and 1 piece of tomato. The dressing for the salad was so acidic, spicy, and biting that I couldn’t eat my food. I ended up throwing it away. $ 11.
Also, who packs hot food on a cold salad ‘to go?’

Misleading on the «free» delivery. It’s $ 5 delivery, but the coupon they bring me says free. They don’t honor the coupon when you point that out. Pretty good pizza if you leave in the West side of Modesto and (presumably) don’t pay for delivery.

I would give this place five stars for the pizza and calzones. I will take one star away because one of the guys who was cashiering was rude. I get get along with everyone so this is saying a lot.

Their pizza is delicious but I called in a pizza order and said I would arrive in 15 minutes only to get there and find that they were closed earlier then what is advertised on Unilocal and on their doors.

As you’ll see in countless other reviews, the customer service here is absolutely terrible. I am not usually one to base a review off of service — I normally just care about the food, and plus I’m Vietnamese and have had my fair share of negligent service at Viet restaurants. But my experience there left me so annoyed and confused that I haven’t been able to get past it.
I came in on a Tuesday night at around 9pm. I checked online, and I even double checked the posted hours on the door when I got there — they are open until 10pm. There was another family seated inside waiting for their food to be brought out. I walked up to the counter and greeted them, and perused the menu for a few seconds. Chicken Kabob Plate — $ 9.99. Sounds good to me! I handed my credit card to the man on the other side of the counter. The conversation went something like this:
Me: «Just one chicken kabob plate please.»
Milano Guy: «OK, $ 14.00.»
Me: … pause. «Oh wait, I thought it was $ 9.99? It says that on the menu?»
Milano Guy: «No sorry, it’s $ 14. Actually it’s $ 15 since you’re paying with a credit card.»
Whoah, okay WAIT. So first of all, you’re charging me almost 50% more than your posted price? And THEN you’re gonna add an entire DOLLAR to my total, just for using a credit card? What in the world… there are so many things wrong with this picture I don’t even know where to begin.
I was obviously taken back by this sudden jump in price, and I wasn’t going to pay that much for a chicken kabob plate, so I took my card back and asked for a second to look at the menu and order something else. And to THAT remark… I got this reply.
Milano Guy: «You know… we’re actually closed.»
Me: «Don’t you guys close at 10pm?»
Milano Guy: «No, we close at 9.»
Me: «But the hours on the door say 10?»
Milano Guy: «No. 9. So…» (in an obvious attempt to rush me and get me out the door.)
So not only was he trying to charge me WAY more for my order, but he was also trying to kick me out of the door. Mind you, there is another family who is eating INSIDE the restaurant who have JUST gotten their food. Why the rush for me? Especially because I am taking my order to go?
I got a bit flustered and just ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza (I don’t even like pepperoni pizza, I just couldn’t think of anything else at the time), paid in cash, and ran out the door.
As I ate my slice of pizza in my car and contemplated what just happened, I decided never to come back here again. Granted, the slice of pizza that I got was pretty decent (hence the two stars instead of one), but it wasn’t good enough for me to risk dealing with these people again.
Rude, over charged, with wrong business hours posted everywhere? … What a shame, since I live just around the corner. But no, sorry, definitely not worth it.

This place has horrible customer service, my friend Mohammed went there one day and asked if they got halal meat because theres a sign saying its machine cut but they say its still halal even thought it’s machine cut and was asked to leave cause he kept asking questions and also one time I used there restroom and saw a cockroach I am never going back to this place again.

First time trying & it was defiantly good! Everything was delicious. Got a Philly cheese steak & a med pizza for $ 20! & they delivered. The Philly cheese steak also came with fries! I am very pleased with this restaurant! They also gave us a free drink which was awesome ! Defiantly I recommend this place to anyone who loves Philly cheesesteaks and pizzas!

Pizza is sometimes good. Service is so so.
Be aware of what you order and how much u pay. They have coupon deals but they tend to be tricky when u redeem them.

We ordered a King Kong pizza for about $ 50 and it was thin and cold when we got it.

My favorite pizza place in Modesto! Thank goodness we shop at Costco often enough to justify the drive for this pie. The staff has always been friendly, and the food is consistently delicious, and survives the 15 minute drive back home and still tastes great. My family’s favorite is the combination, jalapeño added, and onion on half. The new thing we’ve tried out last visit was the cheesecake, which were unsure if made in house or not, but tasty regardless. Other great deal is the lunch special, which is a giant slice of pepperoni pizza and a can of soda. Sauce is awesome and crust is thin, that’s the best part of pizza for me. Wish it was closer, but I get it whenever possible.

Seriously!!! This people have to be a little nicer to even up with the nasty place and ugly food! Overcharging me for their plate and if you question that they will argue with you as long it will require but will never be nice!

Consistently great food and pizza. You cannot go wrong by stopping here to eat or to order takeout

I am extremely disappointed. We ordered A large chicken Parmesan pizza and garlic cheese fries. The pizza was less then satisfactory but not horrible. We did get it for delivery but it was also cold and we had to microwave it. The pizza had such little cheese and sauce that we had to cake it in our own parmesan cheese. The fries were horrible and soggy. The fries had very few pieces of burnt cheese on them. Spend the money going to a better pizza place or even get dominos because they are better and worth the money. I will never order from here again!

Today I just realize that I need to study basic math again. Before arriving here I quickly checked this place in ylpg, and ratings were pretty good, didn’t go through reviews until I placed my orders. As I was reading comments I see a lot complaining about being overcharged, so I did my calculation before I go up front to pay. Everything was cool until I was there and asked how much? Says $$ I just give him what he asked bc I was in a hurry I totally forgot about my calculation and when I was in the car I did my math over and over and realized that I was being overcharged like $ 6. that pissed me off, no wonder they don’t give receipt so they can deceive others. Never coming back here again. I didn’t even enjoy my food.

They’re extremely rude. I can’t believe their customer service. I will not be going there anymore. They lie about their prices and do not treat their customers like they should. big thumbs down. Shame on them.

I love this place, the food is great, and the gyros are my favorite, and the pepperoni pizza is excellent, my kids always want to come here and eat. they are fast food is great, they are inexpensive, love it!!!

I’m so upset that I can’t give the full 5 stars because I had some high expectations for this place. I thought I just miscalculated my order total until I came on Unilocal to see many people complaining of being overcharged. Pre-​tax I calculated my order to be $ 49. When I went in I was charged $ 55.93. I gave him $ 60 and he gave me back $ 4 change and kept the $ 0.07. It’s 7 cents, it’s not a big deal but it’s still my change. Whether it’s .07 or a penny, you still need to give the customer their exact change. Whatever, no biggie. I left. On my way home, I was doing the math over and over in my head and started to suspect that I was overcharged. Then like I stated, I came on Unilocal and saw that apparently it’s very common to get overcharged here.
On to the food. I am Muslim and this is the only halal (islamic equivalence of kosher) pizza place in the area and I was craving some pepperoni pizza. I ordered a pepperoni, combination, and pesto chicken. They tasted amazing. However, when I received them they were a little on the cold side. I had to stick them in the oven for a few minutes before I served them. And the crust on these pizzas are horrible, they tasted like stale cardboard. Sucks because the actual taste of the pizza was great. Not sure if I’ll return, maybe if I’m really desperate for some halal pepperoni pizza.

Ok so I am a human and I can admit that I was very upset that milanos didn’t provide me with great customer service when I was sick and when I felt I have always been a great supporter of them. I am however writing this to admit that I am so in love with their chicken kabobs that I am amending my review to say that their kabobs are good enough to forgive their lack of customer service that night. I am going with 3 starts because it meets in the middle. If I were basing this solely on the Kabobs it would be a 5 star review. If it’s on customer service closer to 1. But it must say something that I am willing to risk them spitting in my
Food for the bad review just to have their chicken again!

This was my second time coming to Milano’s. The first time I came in was with my daughter because she told me they had huge pizza slices with a soda for 5 dollars and that it was really popular at her school. She was right the pizza slices were huge but the flavor to me was just ok, nothing spectacular. The customer service was pretty good, minus when we were walking in the door one of the employees was outside smoking a cigarette with his hand in his pants itching somewhere not so appropriate for broad daylight. I was happy he did not touch our food as I was nervous the entire time our order was being prepared.
So last night, Sunday we were craving Greek food and no place was open that we normally would dine at so we decided Milano’s would be a good option. We walked in and again the customer service was A-​ok. I didn’t see much greek food on the menu so I was disappointed and I decided to order the Beef Teka. The Beef Teka was skewered chunks of sirloin beef and comes with rice, salad, afghan bread and some type of green sauce that was a little bit spicy. I wasn’t sure if it was for the salad or the meat. The flavor was alright something about it kind of grossed me out. The meat tasted gamey.
While inside, we asked if we could have a side of Tzatziki sauce my S.O. wanted it for his sandwich and rudely the man he asked said «For what?» I thought maybe it comes with the Beef Teka so he wanted us to know we were already getting some but my Beef Teka did not come with Tzatziki so I don’t understand why he even asked us what we needed it for.
So we ordered 3 Beef Tekas (everyone thought it was mediocre but my daughter she did not like it at all) and one Philly Cheese Steak which he said was good and was large in proportion.
I don’t think I will be coming back to Milano’s there are way too many places in Modesto with better customer service and food. Not impressed.
