Denny’s

Service is having some serious issues right now. Looks like there is another management change yet again. Here are some of the issues our group had today:
1. Waited 20 just to order after coffee was delivered.
2. Took 40 minutes to get our meals.
3. Even then one person never got his meal, at all.
4. There are no substitutions any more, at all, even after being able to substitute fruit for eggs for years.
5. We called the day before and let them know our group would be here the next day; however, the manager claimed not to know of the reservation.
The new Assistant Manager did come in and profusely apologized. She was a bit defensive. I’m not sure we will return.

The food was ok but the service was terrible. We had to ask for water 4 times, same for a to go container (we were actually told ‘ok be right back’ by our server who never came back. a second server also was a no show. The third finally brought us 2 containers) We will not be back.

We had reservations for the Banquet room and showed up last night with approximately 50 people from JHS Drama for an after show dinner… it took over 2 hours for them to actually get people their food, most of the orders were incorrect, cold or not cooked to request some food was very poor quality… Drink orders never showed up or were incorrect as well.
This was very disappointing to say the least, Management did nothing to help rectify this problem, I find most disappointing is that they knew we were coming with that many people and were completely unprepared.

I personally was one of those that had issues with my order, drink (ice tea) never came, I ordered a sirloin (medium) came out well done the first time, I sent it back, the second time it came out rare and bloody, I just sent it back, there was no 3^rd chance
I would give it a zero or negative rating sadly that option isn’t possible

I give Unilocal 1 star. 0 if possible. It is extremely frustrating to read the first sentence of a review, click on «more», and the review is missing, dates are out of order, etc. Denny’s is pretty good. But Unilocal is totally unreliable.

Worst service. Only one waitress was picking up the slack. No idea why we didn’t just walk out.

If you come here you must ask for nelly, her customer service is amazing. She’s extremely amazing she’s friendly funny and nice and exceptionally quick I definitely recommend coming here over five points in Modesto be sure to ask for her as she tends to work the night shift and she’s always expeditious in her work. I defently think she is one of the best waitresses I have ever had. Be sure to tip heavy cause she will have your back.

I would honestly say the service was good but it was so cold! I kept asking and they said that the a. c was broke I think «Denny’s» makes enough money to fix the problem. Never going here again. The employees were great but the boss needs to be on toes very upset I own a subway and if you want a great business you’ll do anything to make it 100 times better and comfortable.

I frequent this Denny’s because a group I am involved with use the banquet room about three times a month. I seldom eat here though, but when I have the food has been really good. The servers are usually attentive. The parking does suck and the neighboring buildings have a lot of undesirable people loitering around. This doesn’t help when you have to park far from the restaurant in the late evenings. Overall, the service and food make up for the not-​so-​good atmosphere.

My guest and I arrived at Denny’s at 1:40 on a Friday afternoon, the restaurant was mostly empty but we had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated. After we received our menus I ordered coffee and when the waitress brought it I asked her for silverware because I needed a spoon for my coffee. Approximately 5 minutes later I had to flag her down again for silverware. After we placed our orders it took 32 minutes before we received our meals and they were lukewarm as was the coffee. my guest complained to the manager about the cold food and slow service. The manager gave us the stock generic «Sorry about that» response. our experience at Denny’s could have been improved or remedied if the manager would have pitched in to help bus tables & seat guests. He should of been attentive to his guests and staff needs. My dining guest should not have had to flag the manager down to tell him about the poor service, as he was present and saw it for himself! Instead of him saying «I’m sorry about that» repeatedly, he could have made our experience better by compensating all or a portion of our meal or giving us complementary gift card for a future visit to Denny’s. This would have showed me he was genuine about his apology for the poor service & cold food and valued our patronage.

Parking is tight, place needs an upgrade. Had their «healthy» breakfast with the rubber chicken/​gouda sausage — never again.

The food you expect and the service you expect from the lowest class restraint in the country. So a usual dennys

The server was very kind and patient with us. She also had a very beautiful smile on her face whenever we ask for help.
The fish and chips set was delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly, it was still moist in the inside, unlike the others which had ‘em dried out.
The greek salad was also great. The greens were still fresh and crunchy. The balsamic vinaigrette was spot on! Tangy and flavorful!
I suggest you guys try the caramel ice coffee it’s great to wake you up, not too sweet!
Other reviews say that the service was bad, fyi, we got great service at around 9pm. So maybe aboid going there during peak hours.

I really expected to give a one star review here because the dining room was filthy when I walked in. But the service was great and the food was really exceptionally good. I was astonished, I have never had food like this at Denny’s before. I highly recommend the prime rib Cobb salad. I would have given them five stars if the floor and tables had not been so disgustingly filthy.

Believe it or not this was the absolute BEST service I have ever received at a Denny’s. I’ve never been to this location as the one down the road is not the greatest but what a surprise. The service was stellar. Our server Maria M was quick and did an outstanding job and our food came in record time. It was mid-​morning 10am and the property was somewhat busy. I was mostly pleased that being visibly handicapped (with a cane) the hostess made sure not to seat me too far and asked if a booth would be too far. This is the way everyone should treat their customers. I will be back as I love breakfasts!

I actually had a really nice experience here today, which normally for a Denny’s the service is just ok. But out server, Susan M, was absolutely fantastic and didn’t have us waiting for the check or the boxes for leftover food when we asked.
It didn’t even take long for the food to come out which was awesome!

Most folks know Denny’s menu, as they’ve been around so long. Different Denny’s do a better job than others. Here, they’ve always got things right for me. I typically come late if I go to a Denny’s; however, since my mom has meetings for her large travel club here each Friday morning, and I took her today at 11:00 AM, I got to see the earlier crowd. They were packed, with lines waiting to get in so I didn’t anticipate my food arriving super-​fast, and it did take a while, but I observed the entire time, with a large staff, they were seriously hustling to get things done quick, and they all were still smiling and cheerful, with no wasted time chatting. Sitting at the counter, I could see things better. My waitress came by multiple times inquiring if I needed anything, and my food was tasty. The prices are also, like all Denny’s, reasonable. Since I was there for a while, I ordered coffee with my meal and the server offered to refill it numerous times, even after I said I’d enough. Of course the parking lot on the side was full, yet sufficient parking in the back lot. Over the years, I’ve tried many Denny’s, even in places like New Zealand. They’ve generally been a decent experience, and if this is your type of cuisine, I recommend checking this one out in Modesto.

My husband and I love to have breakfast here. The coffee and wait staff are always good. I love the pecan banana wheat pancakes. they are delicious with coffee. Their cheese burgers with added bacon and avacado are well portioned and you must have the seasoned fries. They have their Ranch dressing handy also. I have been here many times & I’m never dissatisfied with their food. Prices $ are right on too

Great breakfast fixed just like we ordered it! The server was attentive & had a great smile. It could use a little updating inside but was clean.

Was in last night for a meeting. Waiter who initiated order was awesome. However food service sucked! Sloppy presentation, cold soup, lack of return for refills in drinks cold food and bad bad taste

Good food, good service, right amount of food and well prepared have no complaints.
Don’t know why someone would give only one star to this place just because they didn’t like the way their hash browns were cooked. Mine were perfect, golden brown on the outside and nice and soft and tasty on the inside. Nothing wrong with the food here people so come and enjoy it. Lots of cheerful happy people here to serve you. If you don’t like something tell them. They are more than happy to make it right.
