Denny’s

Don’t eat there the management does not like to serve you the waitresses enjoy playing on their cell phone at end of counter instead of waiting and saying hello or at least giving us water and a menu at the sit down today January 4^th 2016. The food preservation on the outdoor walk in is exposed to the elements the doors left open unsafe unsanitary food preservation will be notified Health Department of violations

Ridiculous! Stopped in for coffee after an extremely long day… Server told us she was tired and needed a break, informed us it would be at least 30 minutes before she could help us. What a joke!

Take your jacket. Apparently nobody paid the heating bill, because it’s like the Arctic in there! Food was okay. Waitress was awesome. She should have got hazard pay for having to work in those sub zero conditions. The homeless people actually went back outside because it was warmer than inside! 2 stars and I likely won’t be returning to this one.

I do not know why everyone always complains about Denny’s. Come on people its Denny’s! I love this place. I think it has consistently good food and for the price you can’t beat it!
That’s why you come here!
And if you want someone to make you feel special while you’re eating have your spouse or significant other do it and maybe even cook at home for each other geez man!
Don’t expect a server to do it! They are working for a living and I might add working hard. Love to see you do it!!!

Fucking disgusting!
Went to the restroom before being seated, and while i was grabbing the toilet paper a mouse fell out! On my foot to top it all off I will never come here! They need to be inspected!
I walked out i will not spend money here. Only one star because i had no choice to leave it with none

Service sucked waited 15 minutes then a girl came took our order then had a 5 min conversation with some people before putting our order in.

I’ve given this place numerous chances to change my mind about it but they failed to do so. Every time I’ve been to Denny’s my order has been messed up and my service was almost non-​existent.
Every time my finace’s and my food was messed up it took forever to get a re-​fire and they never took it off the bill (even after having to send it back three times).
I live so close to this location so it is a real disappointment that after a late night at work I can’t go to this 24 hour diner.

Absolutely disgusting food and horrible service. Our waitress didn’t talk much and expected us to carry the conversation with her, very rude service if you are waiting tables. She then brought me wrong food (some of which I have dietary restrictions against) and walked away with an attitude. Our waitress even forgot to bring me my ice coffee, yet didn’t forgot to try and charge us for it. According to my receipt her name is Tiffanie, beware if she helps you.
I highly recommend you don’t stop at this location, unless you prefer being around druggies and parking your car next to a shady hotek. There is a much better Dennys location about 2 minutes down McHenry, this one should be closed.

This place sucks. We walked in at 11:15 and it is now 11:31 and we finally got talked to by our «server» it’s not busy and there are tons of servers and even a manager walking around. If my friend wasn’t hungry I would have just walked out. Horrible service. Go to any other Denny’s.

So pissed! I ordered a create your own burger and man for the price and all the extras I added it should of been great! I would of been better off to go across the street and had a jumbo jack and jack in the box. When I told the waiter she said come on a Tuesday that’s when our good chef is in. No wonder the Sunday chef only works Sundays. Sick to my stomach. Will never go here again.

I’ve been wanting to write this review and now I’m finally getting around to it. I love this place. OK, it’s not the nicest dining room and not all the guests are of the highest calibre but it has a great Tilapia Ranchero dish. Tony and Nacho cooked tonight (Tuesday in November) and they obviously have a respect for fish. It obviously hasn’t been treated like a white hamburger patty, but something to be respected and appreciated. Thank you gentlemen. It’s a delicious dish at a reasonable price of $ 10.99. Oh and they’re child friendly with free kids meals on Tuesday and Saturday night.

I haven’t been to Denny’s in over 2 decades and now I remember why. Microwave potatoes that taste like TV dinner and Canned corn. The waitress was friendly but painfully slow. The fit menu was nice and there were good kid options like spaghetti, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza and steamed veggies. The grilled avocado chicken sandwich was mediocre.

The service was slow, the employees are rude, and they were out of to go boxes so the wait was 30 minutes when they originally told me 5 minutes.
Fortunately food was decent.

I was hungry, stopped at this Denny’s for a quick bit of breakfast, on my way to give a Veteran’s Day lecture (about serving our nation) at a local high school when my server noted my pilot/​jump wings/​HALO badge and ribbons on my suit coat and inquired if I was a veteran. I had a copy of my DD214 with me and showed her: she brought me a pancake breakfast, a cup of joe, and thanked me for my service (breakfast was offered free of charge to veterans).
That was very nice of you folks, Denny’s. Than you very much.
It was a great breakfast, too!

Good Biskets N Sausage Gravy with Country Patatoes! Yeah! Yummy Yummy! It only took me 5 days to find it on the menu. Hard to get Coffee refilled! But good food so come on down and visit Denny’s! Yes, you can ask for Vanilla syrup for your plain coffee! Yeah!!!

This is the best Denny’s I’ve ever been to, and since I’ve moved a couple towns away, I’m going to miss being able to frequent here.
The service is great, and the waitress gals are nice. They have one thing everyone in customer service should have — a sense of humor.
Not much I can really review, other than just say my favorite has always been the Sausage Slam (2 eggs I get over medium, 2 sausage, hash browns, pancakes), and since I always go with my best friend, we always get the Mozzarella stick appetizer. Delish!
I’m pretty sure she still works there, so I encourage everyone to say «Hi» to Katrina! Peppy girl with styled hair, great smile. She’s a great girl, and there are two others that are my favorite, but sadly their names escape me; one’s got blonde curls and bold glasses, another usually wears her hair in a bun, both Caucasian, look about their 30s… you can’t miss them, they’re the ones that got a sense of humor about them. Give them my regards, and don’t forget to tip! These ladies work hard for their buck!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect, but it’s RARE that I’ve had a bad experience there, and when I did, it was usually someone else waiting on my table. There have been instances where we have felt ignored when it got busy, but no place is perfect.
Aim to go when it’s not as busy, around either early morning, or that gap between breakfast and lunch. Weekdays are far less busy.

The food here is good and cheap, especially if you order off the value menu. They often have coupons as well which makes it even a better bargain. Kids eat free on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 4 PM– 10 PM.
The biggest problem here is management continuously understaffs the restaurant leaving many unhappy patrons due to slow service. It’s been like this for years and the owner doesn’t feel the need to change things. Whenever I dine here I presume they’ll be understaffed and know what I’m getting myself into. Often if I see it’s too busy, I’ll dine elsewhere.
There are several servers here who are great and others not so great. If you dine here frequently you’ll know who to ask for.
A major downside to this place are the homeless people begging in the parking lot and even inside the restaurant. It can get annoying when they don’t stop even after you tell them no.
If you live nearby or are in the area this is a decent place to go on the cheap. It’s the only restaurant dowtown open 24 hours.

wasnt sure what to think about this place next to the shady looking motel but it was really good. I ordered a plate of spaghetti, zesty nachos, a sundae with two scoops of ice cream and nuts. I also ordered mozzerella sticks, a pot roast and chicken skillet and I ordered a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup. My meal was really good. They didn’t seem to have much help but that one Guy did a very good job. The food was soo cheap too it was incredible.

I shy away from rating chains like Starbucks, fast food outlets and restaurants such as Perko’s and Denny’s. However, I will call out lousy service, dirty establishments or truly obnoxious or atrocious service.
My wife and I experienced Denny’s after many years of avoidance, but we were thrilled to re-​discover their new 2 — 4 — 6 — 8 menu, new décor and excellent service. Susan M. is a star… so on-​the-​spot and personable that we went back on another occasion specifically asking to sit at her table.
Even the homeless and destitute can afford to eat at Denny’s, and eat well and cheaply. The cheese burger flatbread was a 14″ tortilla open-​faced with hamburger, cheese and lettuce which was very filling for only $ 2. I ate more than I wanted with a grandslamwich of grilled cheese and ham for $ 7.95 and I was truly stuffed.
Soups are fresh made daily and here are menu specials for all meals.
What a pleasant surprise! Go see Susan M. for a good cheap meal.
