Bobs Take-N-Bake Pizza

The best take and bake pizza ever. Super great prices too. So far we have tried the gourmet veggie, Hawaiian supreme, taco, and the cheeseburger. They are all GREAT. We struggled picking a favorite. The sourdough crust on the gourmet veggie is sooooo so so good and I love the garlic ranch sauce too. Never a disappointment!

After seeing how highly rated and reading many of the Unilocal!reviews for both of Bob’s Modesto and Ceres locations, I decided to try it out for myself. Ordered the Gourmet Veggie and was told 30 – 45 minutes until it would be ready for pick-​up. I arrived 45 minutes later, and my pizza still hadn’t been made. Had to hang out for another 10 minutes or so before they called me up to the counter. But Bob was there and super friendly, so I didn’t mind waiting as much. The pizza was absolutely LOADED with toppings! Very generous. I did take issue with the baking instructions which were to cook it on the top rack in ovens that have exposed heating elements. I followed those directions exactly, but the crust got a little too crispy for my taste. Next time I’ll bake it on the center rack as with most things cooked in an oven. But a great pizza, overall, with a generous amount of toppings. Just be prepared to wait longer for your pizza to be ready than with that other take ‘n bake place.

I was told by a friend that this place has the best take and bake pizza. So I finally tried it yesterday. Club Chicken on sourdough crust cooked amazing and tasted like REAL pizza. Not TnB! Bomb bomb! Staff was a little socially awkward but I fit right so I liked them. People bitching about their service, I don’t know what they’re talking about. Probably some whiney two ton heffer anyways… This place rocks. Modesto sucks and this place is one of the few places left where I don’t think I will get hairs (Phoenix Noodles) in my food…

The BEST take and bake I’ve ever had! They have great specials and are reasonably priced overall. We usually get the combination and the Hawaiian supreme… Don’t leave without getting that magical baking paper. That crust though! You’ll love it.

Always fabulous. Cant go wrong with this local fav. Love when they have their small frozen pizzas for sale. I always buy a few, so I can bake later in the week and add my own toppings! (leftovers, really.) love that they put the parchment paper so you can cook directly on rack (i’ve tried my Trager bbq recently, and OMG!!) only thing is maybe more fun toppings, blue cheese, arugla, anchovies, figs, goat cheese. etc…but it’s take n bake, so I need to get over my high standards, haaah! Over all, we are returning customers, at least once or twice a month and are always satisfied.

Recently ordered a salad. They gave us the wrong one which was only discovered after we got home. They made us return the salad (which we had already opened– we informed them) and exchange it for the one we actually ordered. Pretty sure they were going to sell the old one to someone else. Won’t be going back.

I love Bobs Take N Bake. Best take n bake pizza! The garlic cheesy breadsticks are to die for! Even if you don’t call ahead it takes take long for them to make.

HORRIBLY INEFFICIENT STAFF and the SLOWEST SERVICE EVER. called in a pizza and was told to wait 25 minutes to pick it up, only to stand in line for another 10 minutes. and to top it off the guy in front of me places an order and he only gets a 10 minute wait. and that was with 8 people working. HORRIBLY INEFFICIENT.

Bob’s take and bake is one of the best small businesses in Modesto ! Why, because they are consistent. Always friendly, clean and good pizza. New creations all the time! For years now they have been a great example of the kind quality you can get right here in our town.

I grew up on Bob’s in Ceres. My mom worked at the bank next door and almost every Friday was pizza night in our house. I have very fond memories of eating my own personal cheese pizza while watching TGIF (you know the lineup, Full House, Family Matters, Step By Step…).
Mom transferred banks, I grew up, I have a family of my own, and I recently realized it’s probably been 20+ years since I’ve had Bob’s, and I practically work right down the street from them!
I called my order in using a menu I found online as reference. I ordered a half Vegetarian half pep, sausage & mushroom with white sauce and picked it up about 20 minutes later. First off, the customer service here is great. I was greeted by someone sweeping in the lobby, and then greeted again half a second later by the worker at the register. When I was handed my pizza, it looked amazing. Seriously FRESH veggies and a TON of them (see my Round Table review for a story about a horrible veggie pizza). It was also made correctly. What more can I ask for? These guys do pizza and they do it well!
I will absolutely be ordering Bob’s more often. There is nothing bad I can say about my experience. It was just as delicious as I remember from my childhood.

My husband and I have been searching for a good pizza joint in the Modesto area. We came across Bob’s and decided to try it out after reading the reviews. We ordered 1 XL combo, 1 XL pepperoni and an order of their cheese bread. I must say it was all very delicious! Everyone enjoyed it and agreed it’s much better than Papa Murphys. We ordered by phone and picked it up, the cashier seemed quite unhappy but other than that this place deserves 5 stars based on their food & very reasonable prices! We will definitely be returning for more deliciousness!

Best pizza in Modesto. Better than PAPA and anybody else. Tough to find decent pizza (or any decent restaurant) in this backward red neck city; but here is one that does it justice.

Food: pretty good pizza. When cooked correctly the crust has a nice crunch and is a good thickness. There is an appropriate amount of sauce and cheese. Usually the toppings are a decent amount, but we have had a handful of times where the toppings were quite skimpy.
Price: more than the big take and bake chain, but the quality of food is better.
Customer service: not great. When you call to order they’ll tell you 20 – 25 minutes. It’s almost never ready in that amount of time. On multiple occasions we have called hours ahead to have it ready at a specific time, it has only been ready on time once. Basically don’t plan on running in, grabbing your pizza, and heading out, it’s not going to happen. The owner has an «I don’t care» attitude when you complain. Unfortunately, this is why we stopped buying pizza from Bobs.

Our favorite place for Pizza is BOB’S in Roseburg Square. We love the thin crust pizza. Great staff, fast, really good pizza.

Awesome pizza! My personal favorite is the Mediterranean. Great service and it never tastes like take and bake! We highly re on end this place! :)

Oh my yum! First time there tonight! Had te half pepperoni, half combo. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Not just take n bake, at all. Delicious. Girls working there were nice, place is clean and fast. They offer whole wheat crust and sourdough which we got an it was sooooo good! They do not skimp on the toppings either, this thing was loaded. And the prices are very reasonable and worth every cent! We will def be back!

Best take and bake in Modesto, hands down. Blows Papa Murphy’s out of the water! The toppings are super fresh and they don’t skimp on them. The pizza is loaded down and very tasty. It’s easy to cook too, 10 – 15 minutes and you have fresh, hot pizza.
Super awesome customer service, I love mom and pop shops and this one is A+
