I am a supporter of locally-owned businesses, so I wanted this to be excellent, but instead it was just okay. The service was not great, although friendly — they were way under staffed. We had fish cakes, Aura salad, osso bucco and chicken ravioli. Nothing was bad, but nothing was really good. The wine list is limited, but not overly expensive. We would be willing to come back and try other dishes, but we’re not itching to use one of our rare date nights here again.

Visited this establishment over the weekend & I was pleasantly surprised. Although they were participating in HRW, everyone at our table opted to order off the regular menu. The cornbread muffins were sooooo good! I’m not sure what type of spread came with the assortment of bread but it was tasty! We ordered the crab cakes for the appetizer & everyone liked it. Husband ordered the Osso Bucco. He said the meat was fall off the bone but it was slightly dry(could’ve used a little more seasoning or some type of sauce). I had the Ravioli & thought it was good. My Rosemary Chicken was a little dry but I would rather have overcooked chicken instead of undercooked chicken. Spouse had some type of lemon dessert & the flavor was very light & subtle. I had the chocolate bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream & that was delish! The dessert was definitely the highlight of my meal. The staff is friendly & attentive. My water was constantly refilled. My only negative comment is at one point I noticed huge chunks of something floating in my water glass. Rather than make a big deal about it, I just switched glasses with my husband because he was drinking wine. I also met the owner when I was looking for the restroom. She was very polite & came by our table to check on us. The restaurant was also reasonably priced. I only wish they had a closer location to us because Missouri City is a bit of a drive for us. I would definitely revisit Coco Pazzo if we are ever in the area again.

Being from the Boston area i have fairly high standards for italian food. That said i have loved most italian food that i have come across regardless of location. I had a craving for some good italian food and looked on Unilocal and saw this restaurant. I looked it up online and i noticed it was very close to my house which was an added bonus. Ordered the antipasto and it had all of three pieces of meat. the«caprese salad» was a joke! cherry tomatoes cut in half and tiny shreds of mozzarella was a joke. Now for the main course: $ 13 pizza that was all of 10″ in diameter. on top of that it looked like it was made hours before. is that a joke? if i would have known i would have bought my own cherry tomatoes and tiny amount of mozz and then got a digiorno and been way happier. not pleased.

Everything was good. Great fish, snapper, and veges. Good wines and owner is on the premises. Loved it with out-of-town guests.

I had a long day at home with the baby so my dear husband took me out to dinner, and he surely surprised me with his choice of restaurant. Coco Pazzo is the perfect place for a relaxing dinner with family. The restaurant is quite charming, made me feel like I was back in France, especially when our amazing server said Bön Appetit when he brought out the bread and soup. I loved their atmosphere, and the French or Italian country music playing in the background. Before our main entrees came, I already decided this place was going to be five stars, because the service was so friendly and delightful they made me feel home right away. Our server took the blackboard with specials and explained each to us and told us his favorites and recommendations when I had questions. Bread, cornbread and biscuits were brought out first, and they were fresh and delicious. I don’t always eat the bread at restaurants but I loved everything they brought to our table. Next we had the cream of cauliflower soup which was their special soup of the day, delicious, even the baby loved it. For entrees, I got their trout special with crabmeat, green beans and braised onions, and the hubby got lamb chops, also their special for tonight. Both came out perfect, I mean, the trout was fresh and live, you don’t get a lot of that here in Texas!(They do back in my hometown in China because that’s important when it comes to seafood in China). I savored every morsel. Hubby said the lamb chops were cooked to the perfect medium rare he was looking for, which had not been the case at many other places we have tried. All the servers were so friendly with out baby too, and talked to us about their babies at home and shared pictures — again, they know how to make you feel at home! :) For dessert we go the trio, we like to try a little of everything so we thought that was perfect, and of course it did not fail to meet our expectation. This is definitely a place we will come back to, and now we have to try Aura too since that’s their sister restaurant and we’ve never been. Maybe for our anniversary we’ll come back here :)

Nice to have a local Italian eatery in the burbs with charm & substance that rivals the best of Houston. Had the arugula/goat cheese/beet salad(constructed like a tar tar) and the redfish with risotto — both were excellent. Great service…

We went here on a Friday night and loved it! The atmosphere was great and wasn’t crowded like so many other restaurants in Mo City/Sugar Land. The service was outstanding, personal attention but not excessive allowing my husband and I to have a nice night out without feeling rushed. They have a nice variety of wines and offer a handful by the glass at a very fair price. They start you off with complimentary bread/roll varieties(cornbread, toasted Cheese crustinis and a mini French loaf) and An aioli dipping sauce. We had the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer and they were the best mushrooms I’ve ever had. For the main course my husband had the mahi special which came with an avocado cream sauce with lots of sliced avocado and topped with crab meat. It was SO good and he are every last bite! I had the redfish with a tomato sauce and risotto. My description likely does not do it justice but it was wonderful! Both fish entrees were cooked to perfection and very generous portions for a reasonable price! We were too full to try a dessert but next time we will definitely save room. We really liked this place and has definitely been added to our list of regular places to go to!

The whole meal was delicious and affordable, and it was the best truffle macaroni and cheese I have ever had. Service was excellent, even early on a Tuesday. The rest of the menu looks interesting and I will definitely be back and recommending the place to others.

My new favorite restaurant! My husband and I came here for a prix fixe Valentine’s Day Dinner. The options were plenty for appetizers, salads or soups, main course and desserts. We started with a bottle of wine and then made our selections. We were concerned the dishes would be «miniature» due to the limited menu for a special price. Not here! Plenty of food. The food was so fresh and such care was taken to season everything just right. The atmosphere is very cozy and perfect for a date night out or intimate dinner with friends. Already made reservations to come back here for my birthday next week!

I love this restaurant! I go frequently and almost always get the pasta carbonara. It’s quite good. I also do love the aioli sauce and the varieties of breads that come out before the meal. I’ve never had a sauce that tasted quite like that before and I typically ask for some to go. This place stays pretty empty because of its secluded location in the back of a shopping center, so if you want to go somewhere for a private, romantic dinner. This is definitely a place to check out.

The food is fantastic, as is the service. The portions are large so I suggest you split plates. The chef now is the one they had when they opened. I didn’t have a chance to try the food with the chef that other reviewers have mentioned. I really wanted to try that meatball. Oh, well.

High expectations not met. I love Italian food. This was just ok. Started with the Caesar salad that was very good! It came with a crostini with anchovy paste. Next came the«special». Seriously, this is what I got. Very thin, battered chicken with diced tomatoes on top. 3 bites of pasta on the side. That’s it. House cab was good. Complimentary desert was a nice touch. Also appreciated the waiter telling us to go ahead and order because if we didn’t then there were lots of people who’d be ahead of us. Was it me, or was traditional Italian fare missing from the menu? Came home and ate leftover pizza.

I went for lunch and tried the pizza. They come out as a personal pan pizza of about 11″ in diameter and there is not much I can say other than they are the best in Houston. The Toscana had rosemary roast chicken on it and the Napolitano was the traditional olives, basil, tomatoes, artichokes, mozzarella and mushrooms. The arancini(fried Italian rice ball) was light and creamy on the inside and lightly spiced and crunchy on the outside. The goat cheese salad came on beets with mustard sauce and topped with baby spinach leaves. The calamari was served with a garlic aioli as well as a marinara sauce, and covered in a light tempura batter. Better quality lunch for about the same money as the midday special at Tony’s.

If I am not at the sister French restaurant of Aura, you will find me here… an incredible place for authentic italian. no need to go in town if you live in sugar land or missouri city — but it is worth it to come out of town for this if you live in town. Incredible. SImply and homey environment, while incredible service and food. Best business lunch in the area for sure also!

We love Coco Pazzo… we tried the new Aura location at Town Center and were not as impressed. We love coco pazzo. We had Carlos as our server and he was friendly, attentive but not obtrusive. The manager also came by our table to check on our meal. We had the 3 course prix fixe menu: sunset and mother’s day specials. For appetizers, we chose the crawfish bisque which was perfect not too salty which can be a problem at other establishments. The crab cakes came with a small mixed greens. Delicious and crispy! We also had the fried calamari and artichokes which were lightly breaded with mayonnaise and marinar dipping sauce. While we were waiting for our appetizers, we had a bread basket full of yummy breads that came with a sundried tomato aioli spread. For entrees: red snapper with veggies, braised short ribs with veggies and polenta, and mixed seafood including, mussels/clams/crab/fish and risotto. All were very good. Dessert was 2 mini canolis and the chef’s dessert platter which had a mini crème brulee, profiterole, and chocolate brownie. Worth the drive!

A sequel to Aura, this place is awesome! Came here with my family shortly after it opened, there was 6 of us, and service went smoothly. All our appetizers and entrees were timed perfectly and tasted delicious! I highly recommend coming here and enjoying one of their many specials of the night.

So I’m visiting Texas from New York and somehow end up eating at an Italian restaurant. I can’t have barbecue or Tex-Mex for every meal I guess(well I could but my family not so much). We came to Coco Pazzo for lunch on a weekday for the three-course lunch menu for $ 15. I seriously can’t even get a salad at some places in New York for that price. Appetizer options today included escargot, portabella with lobster sauce, avocado salad, and caeser salad. I personally had the avocado salad which was topped with mixed greens and balsamic and was quite nice. The rest of the table covered the other options and everyone seemed pretty happy. I tried a bite of the caeser which was well made with what tasted like house made caeser dressing. For the main, I got the filet tips with pasta; the filet tips were tender although maybe a bit well done, but the pasta was perfectly al dente. My wife had the mustard-crusted pork shank and others at the table had the flounder and one person the gorgonzola chicken and gnocchi. All the plates basically departed empty which is always a good sign.(My mom commented that her fish was a tad salty, but I didn’t try for myself so can’t really comment.) Desserts were small but what I would consider appropriate for lunch if you want to end your meal with something sweet. Overall a very good lunch at a great price. If I lived in the area or didn’t have 10 barbecue joints on a list to try in four days, I would definitely come back here for another meal. Gatlin’s awaits however.

This is one ‘crazy chef’ who is crazy like a fox. If one wants a gourmet meal closer to their suburban home for a nice price, this is the place. Perhaps my favorite dishes were the appetizers. I tasted the lovely, creamy asparagus soup,(the perfect balance of veggie, cream and salt). Hubby loved the tomato soup. I also had a divine seasoned tomato, basil, and tender barrata cheese appetizer. It was more than large enough for two. The cheese is rather like Mozzarella but more tender and a tad sweet. All was seasoned to perfection. For the price one pays, the entrée was quite good. For $ 27.00, I had the surf and turf tonight, which consisted of a Fillet Mignon sliced and cooked a nice medium rare. While not quite top steakhouse quality tender, it was very tasty for the price. The turf was a small half lobster tail which was sweet, but a bit chewy and plain, so I moved on to the two lobster raviolis that were great! Pasta is definitely top notch here. The dinner was accompanied by mixed veggies that were very al’ dente. Hubby was dying to have the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken he had raved about on our previous visit. The pasta was obviously in-house made perfection and the chicken very tender. OK, I hate to write this, but both hubby and I, as well as my son who had the same to go, felt the sauce was not as good tonight. It was rather bland and lacked the cream and cheese zing they so loved before. It was still quite tasty, it’s just that once one has had the BEST Alfredo ever, well, it is hard to settle for less! I hope they fix this as it was great! As before, the service was impeccable, the staff very friendly, the pinot the waiter suggested perfect, so all in all, a lovely night! However, I swear next time we are bringing seat cushions!
