Holiday Acres Riding Academy Go Karts/Miniature Golf

I’ve been going here for years. The go-​karts are great for the family but I know the prices are getting higher every few years. The horseback rides are very fun though and worth the price. Good for families. It’s very easy to find– right when you get in town.

Bad experience today. Employees were defensive and weren’t listening to our concern. Here’s the issue: they told us that our 5 year old granddaughter would have to ride solo. These are the horses not the ponies. We agreed but asked that she ride right in front of her mom in the line. You’d have thought we asked them to start hating the Packers! They were unwilling to accommodate our request. We were all paid up and getting on the horses when this happened. I guess when there’s no business competition you don’t have to be concerned about unhappy customers. This would have been our 5^th visit. Perhaps a customer service seminar would be a good idea?

This place was a gem! I’m so glad we found it. The miniature golf course was fun, well laid-​out and pretty with flowers and water falls. The Go Karts were great and reasonably priced. We didn’t ride the horses as we had on shorts and sandals, but we will next time for sure. Note: they do not take credit cards but have an ATM on site. Not many places you’ll find have horse trail rides, miniature golf and Go Karts. Cool family place!

A staple of my wife’s family vacations is quickly becoming a staple of our current trips up north.
We stopped in on Memorial Day and unfortunately all the horses that were ready to ride were all on the trail for the last ride of the day. But the good folks here were kind enough to let us hang out with our toddler and look at the Momma horse with her brand new foal.
This is a great looking place, I’m surprised there’s no pics. I’ll try to make it a priority the next trip up.
This place will be a family staple for years to come.

My wife’s family has been going there for years. They went up this past Thursday and a middle-​aged guy with a soul patch called my son out and cursed at him in front of the whole group. I’d love to tell you what for, but he’s not sure. Lucky for both Soul Patch and myself, I wasn’t there, so this is all third hand, but corroborated by about 15 other members of my wife’s family ranging in age from 9 to 70-​something. The whole family got up to leave and were refused refunds, even though my daughter had only gotten a single run around the pathetic little track. We won’t be back.

The horses were really well taken care of and were perfect for the kids. They went on a nice private path that was great for really young kids as it was wooded, a little hilly, and a good length.
The mini golf course was as basic as it gets, but was nice for their age. For anyone over about 8 it will be disappointing and of little challenge. It does however have nice water features and a fair bit of privacy due to the layout.
The go karts were great. They have 3 tracks although we only went on one. We went during a slow time so we had the track all to ourselves.
We will definitely be coming by again next time we are in the area.

Think you can’t have fun go-​karting as an adult?
You’re wrong, friend. Wrong as the day is long.
This is how you do it:
1. Make sure you go when it’s not terribly busy.
2. Make sure you and your friends are the only ones racing on the track at any given time.
3. Clear «shennanigans» with the 15-​year old, apathetic park worker.
4. Go super fast and pretend they’re bumper cars (within reason… –ish).
My forearms were SO sore the next day, and I spun out about a bazillion times, but guess what? Killer fun.
I do like mini-​golf too, but we didn’t rock that. Just go-​karts. Fast, furious, go-​karts.

Stopped here for mini golf and ended up taking our toddler on a pony ride as well! She loved it! Relatively inexpensive and good entertainment. Only con was the custard we picked up from the snack stand. It was pretty awful!
