They bait you with good prices, then switch when it’s time to ring up. I didn’t feel that they were honest, and I didn’t feel that they cared that I was frustrated. I decided to take my business elsewhere in the future, which is unfortunate, because they really are in a great location.

I’m taking on the challenge of writing a review about the take for granted lost world of «neighborhood«dry cleaner. So what makes a dry cleaner a good dry cleaner?: 1) they don’t mess up your clothes 2) they don’t confuse no starch with extra starch 3)English is at least one of the languages spoken 4) somewhat affordable 5) the employees acknowledge your existence 6) you can get your dry cleaning fast when you need it. Honestly I’m not sure if the mom and pop look of the place is legit… but they fulfill 5 out of 6 of these essentials… just dont expect next day service… ever… And…magically I always find a parking spot in front of the store… I suggest you bring a co-pilot for drop off and pick up(my girlfriend fits the bill) I usually drag her there first before I force her to go with to the car wash…:) If you live in uptown — they are ready to be YOUR dry cleaner… just have at least 3 days to wait for it.

only place i take my dry cleaning. totally green and fast. most dry cleaning is all chemicals, it’s not dry cleaning at all actually. dry cleaning just means they don’t use water, they use harsh chemicals to clean your clothing. it’s bad for the environment, your skin, and your lungs. uptown cleaners uses a completely biodegradable substance on your clothing. and it’s cheaper than anderson cleaners. they do uggs too. also, i am forever grateful for them for saving my beautiful yellow leather marc jacobs clutch. some asshole i.d. checker at first ave accidentally marked my bag with his black permanent marker as i was walking by him. after crying myself to sleep, i took it into uptown cleaners, they sent it away and it came back good as new. apparently they just dyed over it by custom-making ink that was the exact shade of the yellow purse. brilliant.

I highly recommend writing down how many items you dropped off as three of my shirts disappeared. Cheryl is very nice and ended up finding the three shirts that they lost. I have been going here for almost two years and haven’t had any issues. Sort of expensive but is in a great location and is «green». LESSONLEARNED: Write on your ticket they give you how many items you dropped off. They don’t include a count on your receipt. Losing the three shirts wouldn’t have been that big of a deal if I hadn’t had to ask on two different occasions if they had them. Luckily Cheryl checked the back room this time, after some other worker had already given one of them away to someone else. But they are working on getting the third one back… So Cheryl gets them an extra star!

Great place! Not only is it more environmentally-friendly than conventional cleaners, but it is also fast and convenient. The people here are always friendly, and I have I have never had problems with the items I have dropped off(there have been many opportunities for mistakes, but none so far!). They did a great job cleaning my wool comforter and put it in a nice little carry-bag, which makes storage in my small apartment a cinch. My favorite part is the coupons! Not only are there new customer specials, but there is always a coupon in the Uptown quarterly coupon mag($ 5 off $ 25). If that wasn’t enough, they keep track of all your orders and reward you with more coupons(like, I got a $ 10 off with no minimum purchase for who knows how much I spent there). Prices are reasonable, more so with all these deals. Worth it!

Wish I had seen the Unilocal special offer before I stopped in here! Uptown Cleaners is a green cleaner which for me is a requirement. Dry cleaning is a necessary evil in my mind so I’ve got to make it as safe for the environment as possible. The guy working the counter is very nice and friendly. I took in my two winter coats to be cleaned and it was $ 35 total. Seems like a totally reasonable price. They’ll give you a $ 10 coupon off $ 20 for new customers.
