Eleni’s Tailoring

Good: fast-​ish service, pretty reasonable prices, not impossible hours (has a few hours open on sat), decent work most of the time
Not-​so-​good: surprisingly poor attention to detail at times (uneven on slimmed sides), cash only
Overall, good. Will continue to go as long as I live so close.

I recently relocated to Minneapolis, and I went to Eleni’s based on the positive reviews here, looking to get my suit tailored. I was hoping to find a tailor who I could trust and rely on so I could return with the other clothes in my wardrobe.
Unfortunately, this is not the place for me for several reasons. (1) The work is subpar – the suit jacket was not tailored to how it was pinned on me, and the hem on my suit pants came off within 2 weeks. (2) The service is lacking – she doesn’t seem to care for or appreciate your business. (3) The rates are not cheap, and only cash is accepted; this wouldn’t be a problem if the work was good!
After I took my suit back in for adjustments that should have been done correctly the first time, she said she would call me when it was ready and gave me an estimate of one week. One week later, I called to find that it wasn’t ready yet, and she said she would call me when it was. I wait two more weeks to call. This time, she tells me it’s been ready all this time and blames me for not coming to pick it up. Really? No apologies whatsoever.
It’s safe to say I won’t be back.

Reasonabily priced, quality work, family run. All good things!

I took in a few things to get fixed to Eleni’s based on the previous review. I was not disappointed!
Eleni (or his wife) did a perfect job hemming my jeans. They are a very dark wash and the thread is nearly invisible! $ 12 for a jean hem is a standard reasonable price too.
I also had a hole is a knit blazer fixed. You can’t even see where the hole was. Great job! This was also $ 12.
I also appreciate their honesty. I brought in a few other things to be fixed and they carefully weighed whether it was realistic to fix it and what the cost would be, then let me make the decision.
It’s cash only but you don’t pay until pickup so you’ll know the amount to bring.
Check them out, every one needs a good tailor!

I took a pair of jeans in to Eleni’s and they were hemmed up in two days and really cheap too. They did a great job. The hem looks neat and clean and the length is perfect. The man is really sweet. It’s cash only, so be prepared.
