Delicious food AND delicious beer! A nice little selection too! I’ve heard brunch here is delicious so I will most definitely be back!

Went to watch the wild game play in the Stanley cup playoffs this year against the stars. The place was so incredibly noisy I had difficulty partaking in a conversation at my own table, our waitress was particularly pushy, overly present at the beginning of our time there and scarcely to be found to refill waters towards the end. Food was pub fare, greasy and unsatisfying. If you do go, sit at the bar and grab a drink, at least from there you can people watch and get some more attentive service.

I have to say the Bulldog exceeded my expectations for a typical casual sports bar. The food menu had more variety than I was expecting. I got the Hawaiian volcano burger and it was delicious! Was not expecting a pineapple/jalapeño burger to even be on the menu. My friend got the porky pig and said it was really delicious as well. They also had a long draft beer list and again I had a hard time making a decision. They have a patio that looks like it’ll be great when the weather is warmer. Parking is uptown parking… but we found a spot in a side street a couple blocks away. I was happy with my experience and would go back!

Double dog dare is the best invention ever, 2 of their hot dogs that comes with chips or you can do the smart thing to upgrade to tots. Great bar food, queso and the Bavarian pretzels are awesome. The tap selection is great too!

Might be the best bar in uptown! Definitely the best happy hour at least. Great staff! I can’t say enough good stuff about this place!

Excellent service. Excellent food. We went to the Bulldog with a 3-year old. They were so patient and amenable. We took so long to order, but the server was so accommodating. The drinks kept coming and when we finally placed our order the server waited until happy hour to place it. When our order came I got fries instead of the tots I ordered, but the server was super apologetic and got me my tots. My burger was amazing. My tots rocked my socks. All in all I had an awesome time and can’t wait to go again.

Excellent for the price. Great bar food and beer selection. There are some pretty creative options that include eggs, mac & cheese and things deep fried and wrapped in bacon. Sit inside, or if it’s nice out, their patio has two tables. Go ahead and give them a shot!

Great vibe, good food. Got there at 6pm and the«daily special» was already gone. Boo! Another 2-thumbs up for the Northeast neighborhood.

Not a bad place to stop in for a quick drink on a drunk stumble home. Didn’t get any food but the beer selection was pretty damn good. Nice little patio too. I’d probably go again.

Nothing like the NE Bulldog. Don’t expect any vegan options at this location! Vegetarian. Yes, maybe so. It’s a little dark and cramped for my taste as well. Customer service has definitely left a lot to be desired.

The buffalo tater tots were to die for. The chicken nachos were fantastic and our waitress was very sweet and always checking in on us. I will definitely be back!

One of the great local hangouts of Uptown! Nice beer list, patio seating, and good hearty bar food. I got a bacon cheeseburger with truffle tots. Damn those tots were good! The only downside was I ordered my burger medium– which generally means there’s a little pink in the center. It came well done and cooked all the way through. Other than that everything was great! Our server was friendly and attentive. On the way to restroom I had to do a double-check because I thought I saw a bulldog in a cage in the corner. Turns out, it’s a very realistic life-size replica, but cute nonetheless!

*sigh* I have a hard time writing this review because I do like The Bulldog. However, we came here tonight to grab a beer and a light bite and I am left feeling disappointed. First of all, they have a great beer selection. Gotta love that. But…the nachos… Why is it SO hard to find good nachos? These are about as bad as they get. Chips, meat, white plastic cheese… canned jalapeños and salsa. PLEASEBRINGBACKREALCHEESE!!! Plastic liquid cheese just makes the chips soggy. Ish. Props for the beef not tasting like Ortega… but I can’t get past the cheese… No lettuce, no pico, no sour cream… no fun. Boo.

I used to live right behind here and I basically lived off of their cajun fries. I love this place. It hasn’t really changed much in the last decade which is HOWITSHOULDBE. Thank you, Bulldog, for basically staying the same. I guess when they got the yen to try something new they opened up those other locations. They have so many interesting beers on tap and have glasses for almost each one. They rotate in a lot of new ones every season. I love how they focus on local beer AND Belgians. Two of my favorites. The food is fantastic. As I said: cajun fries. Yep. Also, bison burgers. Uh-huh. And a whole host of other things. In fact, when I stopped being a vegetarian due to health issues I broke my streak on a turkey avocado sandwich here. I have immense fond recall of that. The staff is… Well, ok, I like the staff because they super mean well. They do. No one’s mean spirited and no one is ever purposefully a jerk. But they do rather often tend to screw up(I send stuff back here maybe 1⁄5 times due to mix ups). They can also be pretty slow. One woman is a bit surly, but she’s not mean(if that makes sense). I remember when I first moved in back of it I overtipped to a huge percentage to try to get them to kick it up a notch regarding me. Nope. Just the same old mostly decent, a little surly, a little slow. It’s also been like that for a decade! Haha. Whatever, it’s part of the charm for me now and I am used to it and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Never change, Bulldog.

With a neighborhood feel, solid craft beer selection, friendly service, and tasty food, what’s not to like? Bulldog Uptown is one of those hangouts that I need to visit more often. On my most recent visit months ago, I stopped by on weekday afternoon and ordered their Reuben and a pint of Fulton to wash everything down. I. FOOD *Reuben: Meaty corned beef and tasty sauerkraut, smothered in a decadent swiss. Not to mention, the slices of rye that held this deliciousness were perfectly toasted. Lately, Old Man Winter has caused me to crave Reubens, and theirs definitely satisfied my cravings. *Tater-tots: Whether frozen in the bag or freshly made, I really don’t care all too much. I love me some tater-tots. Pass me the ketchup, please. Did I slightly burn my fingers, while shoveling tots in my mouth? Possibly. *Note: I’ve also had many of their starters in the past, and have enjoyed them all. I suggest their Chicken Finger Basket, Battered Green Beans, and Onion Rings. Pretty much, everything terrible for you. II. DRANKS Stacked, yo. What DON’T they have here? Want something local? You got it. III. SERVICE My server was incredibly sweet, and my food came out in less than ten minutes. IV. PRICES Most items are under $ 10. Practically everything is under $ 15. Hard to hate on that. This is my kind of low-key joint in Uptown. And for the prices and feel, I think they absolutely deliver.

I like this Bulldog location — it has a more cozy neighborhood feel vs the other ones. It’s smaller, feels a little older, but still has spots to sit at in the bar area plus a lower level dining area. The service is pretty quick and they have a similar beer list and the same menu as the other places. There is a small patio for the warmer months. The food is your burger/dog/sandwich type. There are a few TVs to watch sports.

I am currently sitting inside this bar listening to the bartender and my server complain about«fat, ugly» women and people who are«retards», which really sucks because usually the bartenders here are very friendly and easy to talk to. Our table service has always been intolerably slow, but bar service is typically solid. I can do without these offensive remarks while attempting to relax with my beer though.

I asked all of my coworkers where I should watch the Wild game and what a good happy hour. One of them suggested the Bulldog so I thought I would check it out. I wasn’t too impressed with the atmosphere for a wild game and the TVs were hard to see. We got the truffle tater tots with aioli and they were good(especially because they were half off). I do want to come back and try the peanut butter banana burger because I am on a quest to find the best peanut butter burger in Minneapolis. One recommendation I would have is to maybe lighten it up a tiny bit. I enjoy darker places but I felt like I was sitting in a dark corner.

Awesome happy hour! Half off apps from 3−6pm was great. Bigger craft beer list and the food was pretty good. Our waitress did a great job handling our orders, checking in on us, and splitting up our checks properly between six people.

The food and beer was delicious! I like the wide selection of beer, always appreciated. The Queso Dip appetizer is delicious, I highly recommend it. The vibe is super relaxing and welcoming. The service was eh, she wasn’t very warm and welcoming but could have been having an off day. Being a server myself, I appreciate great service and didn’t really get that. Overall nice time! Good beer and food, I will be back

The Bulldog is a great place to go if you are looking to have a beer with a friend; their tap list is pretty impressive. One of the things I like about their variety of beers on tap is that a good amount of them are local. My friend and I shared a basket of the Truffle Tater Tots, which were delicious and just the right amount! The reason I gave The Bulldog three stars: The acoustics are terrible and I felt like I had to yell just to have a conversation with my friend, which is definitely a disappointment. There is a good chance I will return because it’s close and convenient for a few people I like to visit every so often. From a Dietitian’s perspective: If you know ahead of time that you are going to be heading out to The Bulldog make sure to plan ahead and try to make other meals healthier throughout the day. You could even squeeze in a workout if possible! Sharing a plate is always a good option if you are going with a friend or feel free to take home some leftovers. Just keep in mind that sometimes our eyes are bigger than our stomach and it’s never a good feeling to leave somewhere overstuffed.

I stopped into The Bulldog as a new resident of the area who had no groceries and wanted to be out and about. I was greeted by a friendly bartender who is, apparently, always there and who gave truly amazing bar service. He recommended a few beers based on my usual to shake things up a bit(ended up with Ommegang Fire and Blood), didn’t roll his eyes when I asked to make an adjustment to one of the sandwiches on the menu(BBQ Pulled Pork, delicious) and was attentive without being overly chatty while I watched the Twins game. The option to substitute tater tots in lieu of fries is an incredible reason to come here, too. All in all, I feel super lucky to have a laid back place like The Bulldog in my neighborhood to get an offbeat beer, a tasty sandwich, and casual conversation.

Ahh, the Bulldog in Uptown; it’s a lot of great things. And it’s not a lot of great things. If you’re looking for a late night beer(or four) and tater tots, it’s perfect. If you’re looking for gourmet food and a lot of natural lighting… this might not be your best bet. My husband and I like coming here for low-key, high-cal dinners. I like their turkey and avocado sandwich along with some tater tots and a Stella Artois. Ahhh, comfort food. That said, the food isn’t anything to write home about and(overall) it can be pretty tricky to find a seat around here(especially depending on time/night of the week). We’ve definitely rolled in a few times and rolled right on out because of a lack of seating. It gets a smidge better when they open the«patio,» but it’s not too big. Oh, and don’t get really excited because I said«patio.» The patio resembles an outdoor jail cell. They have darts. A jukebox. And a thorough beer menu with a lot of local options. They just don’t have a lot of space, so coming here with a group can be tricky unless you time it JUST right. Again, the Bulldog in Uptown is great for late winter nights when you just want to get out of your house and hibernate publicly with some beer and fried food. But when it comes to a warm Minneapolis night… I’d opt for somewhere else(and there are a lot of nice«somewhere else’s» popping up in this neighborhood).
