Good beer selection on tap. Try the Lagunitas Sumpin’ Sumpin.’ Atmosphere is cool and great service. But the wings are the star of the show. I am not a huge wings guys but was here with a friend and he wanted to get them. I was really impressed. We got the blackened buffalo. Highly recommended. Best wings I’ve ever had? Probably. Though I am not a wings connoisseur do take that as you will.

Have been here twice and ordered during happy hour. The iron door pub burger is great and so are the duck tacos! The cheese curds are a bit disappointing — not crispy and very soft instead of that nice crispy bite I like! The happy hour is every day until 7pm with some great specials — get on it!

Great bar, lots of TVs, so if you’re looking to watch a game or two, this is a great choice. Being relatively new to the area, I can’t say that it looks that different from any of the other sports bars in the neighborhood, but it’s got a cool looking sign! The service is really great here — the people are friendly, attentive, on top of things. The food is okay and once you add in drinks, it can get a little on the pricier side than I was expecting for a pub. We got the mac n’ cheese and the chicken nuggets. They weren’t anything beyond what was expected, good for a quick bite though and a good place to hang out or meet with friends. Spacious, plenty of tables, easy to find, parking isn’t bad either.

Awesome location, our server was fantastic. Not super busy so we got great attention. Warm buttered nuts were a great surprise. I love that they have their own parking lot, even if it’s small. Most important they have a nice beer list!

Been here a half-dozen times or so now, usually for trivia on Tuesday nights. Awesome craft beer list and they have pitcher specials during trivia. So far I think I’ve had the nuggets, cuban, & fries made from scratch… so good. They also have a special«Royale w/Cheese» burger that’s absolutely amazing. I was surprised I ate it all! Super friendly & attentive staff too. Iron Door has quickly become my go-to spot in Uptown.

The wild were playing, and I needed to watch the game. One of my friend was hungry so we decided on stopping in at Iron Door Pub. I had already eaten, but how can you get a beer without cheese curds? Minnesotan problem. Leah G. and I ordered cheese curds. They were good. They were lightly battered and nice and hot. They had a tomato powder that gave them a little more flavor. They were served in a marinara sauce, which I’m not a fan of in general of cheese curds and marinara so I opted for ketchup. My friend got a Cuban for dinner. She ordered the tater tots as her side. The Cuban was OK. The pork was a fatty which freaks me out and my friend kept saying how salty the whole thing was. If I go for food I will probably order something else. «Bar Snacks» — I think it’s a joke that they charge $ 4 for popcorn or nuts, when you can go to Williams, pay about the same price for a beer and get unlimited free popcorn and nuts. The only upside is that it comes with a bacon and Parmesan seasoning. Overall, I will probably be back for Happy Hour to watch the wild games. They have plenty of TVs all around and it is in a nice location. Their Happy Hour is nice because it runs until 7 and its $ 2 off beer and apps. The beers are spendy but with happy hour it makes they about $ 4.50-$ 5.00.

Okay, so I go here weekly for trivia with my friends. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is engaging and friendly. They took the time to learn my name after my first couple of visits, and they ask if I want my usual fare when I arrive. You can’t get that at most places these days because the staff sees you as another number, even if a common one. The food is well made, and the presentation is always on superb. I enjoy the tots(get with fancy sauce!), cheese curds, and the spicy cauliflower apps when I want to get starters. The entrée options are your standard bar/pub choices, but with top grade ingredients. The kitchen does not skimp on quality, which really shows with the flavor of the food. My choices for eating are the BLT(with grilled green tomatoes!!), Macaroni & Cheese, and the Cuban currently. They had a Flat Iron Pork that was simply the best cut of pork I’ve had at a restaurant, but they discontinued it recently because it wasn’t very popular.

Great sports bar food. Lots of space to enjoy the game! Tried the grilled cheese and Tator tot nachos and would recommend both!

I don’t drink so I can’t comment on the beer, but I did have the curds & the bacon & egg burger. The cheese curds here make the ones at the Fair look like dogshxt, and the burger was awesome. Thick bacon NOT burned to a crisp & some kind of smokey mystery sauce to go with it. I don’t know what this place is like on a friday or saturday night, but saturday brunch rules here & won’t rape you in the wallet, which is always a plus. 5 stars.

Only stopped in here for a quick drink before heading to a show at Bryant Lake Bowl. It was a Monday evening so the place was pretty empty. Our server came up right away and was very friendly. He explained all the happy hour deals, which was super helpful. The beers are around $ 6 – 8 dollars but during HH their are $ 2 off. I ordered a Left Handed Milk Stout and my friend ordered a Loon Juice and queso. The beers came our right away and so did the food. The queso was pretty good but kind of a small serving — it did end up being pretty cheap with the HH deal so that was fine though. The décor seemed pretty plain and had sport bar type feel with lots of TVs everywhere. This is a nice place for a quick spot to grab a beer or if you want to watch a game since it isn’t much different than your average sports bar.

Went on a lunch break with a coworker, only two people there besides the bartender. Was a little skeptical but had the fat a$$ burger, it was awesome!!! Will be going back for sure. Only complaint was the wait but for a burger of that size I imagine part of the wait was how they cook the burger. They also feature local sodas and the cola was amazing. Round two… Amazing! Had the bacon and egg burger. Served promptly and cocked just the way I ordered it! Will be back for lunch regularly

Thank God, a sports bar opened in Uptown. My roommate and I who live on the other side of Uptown were looking for a bar in the area where we could watch the Gopher football game. Luckily we stumbled across The Iron Door Pub. I’ll be frequenting this place a lot now as Uptown is definitely not known for it’s sports bars. It’s lively inside with TVs covering every wall. The bar was full of beer drinkers watching football. Great atmosphere with good food and a long tap beer list. The inside has plenty of seating in booths, tables and plenty of room at the bar. The walls are empty other than the identical TVs that line the top of the wall along the entire perimeter. The menu is simple, there is a large list of appetizers but not much to pick for an actual meal. I ordered the Iron Door Philly which was delicious. Not so much delicious in that the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection but more so that it was just super fattening with nacho cheese spilling out the sides. They didn’t have any malt vinegar which is always a minus in my book. The food took a long to come out but we weren’t to concerned as long as the beer kept flowing. They had an awesome happy hour special: Buy one get one for $ 1. We still don’t know when it run from because the waitress kept telling us she had it mixed up and it was still going. I’ll be back for more football and hockey games for sure.

I came to the iron door pub again tonight hoping things would be better than the last time I was here. I have lived in uptown for the past 5 years and love supporting neighborhood businesses. I used to go to Cause all the time. It was a place that you could always count on to be a good time. Walking into the iron door pub, it felt like I was in a completely different neighborhood. I parked my bike outside and walked into a bar scene that looked like I was in Coon Rapids. There were no specials on any drinks. The food was all over-priced and filled with meat(I’m a vegetarian along with a large majority people in uptown). I really hope this place gets better because it’s in such a good location. I don’t want it to become another Williams(at least they have peanuts to throw) or another douchy uptown bar for out-of-towners to get drunk at!

1.) You are on the border of Uptown, so there will be some douchiness. Uptown is douchey. 2.) They put on whatever you want to watch on TV 3.) Food needs work… I am open to consulting 4.) Beer is cold 5.) Air conditioning is functional(cannot say the same for Cause…) 6.) Employees are nicer than those you find most other places in this neighborhood 7.) Bathrooms have stall doors 8.) Happy hour every day from 3 to 7, so you can actually get there 9.) Doesn’t smell like mold 10.) Beer selection is thoughtful and ample I hate Uptown. Really. I don’t know what the Uptowners expect of this place, but to me, it’s financially backed by some folks that run a wonderful Sports Bar in NE. Was the opening rushed? Hell yeah. Do they need some time to find their identity? Probably. Does it get a little better every 2 weeks? Yep.

Gave this place another go and I’m very happy I did! They have happy hour every day so tap beers are $ 2 off! I got the steak with fries and for a $ 15 steak it was great and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Fries could have been a tad crispier but other than that I’ll definitely be back for the good prices, good beer, nice patio & nice service

So this is my street, and we have been totally hating on this place every time we walk past since it opened. This week we finally decided to give it a shot. Frankly, this place has no character, unless the look they’re going for is dude bro, in which case it’s spot on. I’m trying to keep an open mind and remember that they just opened, but they have Buck Hunter(or some rendition of), which tells me dude bro is in fact the look they’re going for. What made us eat our words a bit was that the food was surprisingly good. This is for sure our place next time we’re craving cheese curds. The breading on those things was perfect, and they put some kind of seasoning on them that I couldn’t get enough of. We also ordered the cheddar & apple salad and the fish sandwich. The salad was pretty good for a bar, and the sandwich was totally tasty comfort food. Beer menu was fine, but not that impressive for a pub. Maybe that’s another thing they’re working. As for vegetarian options, they don’t have a special menu set aside or anything(who does??), but they have plenty of options(impressive for a place with Buck Hunter, no?). The guy who thinks vegetarians should only eat at vegetarian specific restaurants needs to get a clue. This is Uptown; literally all the restaurants have veg options. Go back to the suburbs if you think that’s a weird request. Luckily, Iron Door has their bases covered in that regard.(Vegan options is another story, but most vegans know they need to get creative when dining out.) I will also say that the service when we first walked in wasn’t great. We didn’t get any acknowledgement from the three guys hanging out behind the bar(Do we seat ourselves? Do we order at the bar? Could you just acknowledge that you have customers?) and it took a decent amount of time for our server to approach us after we grabbed a table. However, once our server introduced herself, everything was top notch from there. P. S. Cause sucked. I’ve lived on this block for the last 4 years, and we are grateful to at least have a place that isn’t crowded with a-holes blowing smoke in your face as you walk by and throwing their cigarette butts all over our street.

Wow… looks like the Unilocal haters are out in full force on this place. They have been open a total of…8 days. Cut them some slack. Even a corporate-ass Applebees takes a few days to get its groove when it first opens. And for the love of GOD, if one more asshole bitches about a vegetarian menu at a restaurant(or lack thereof) THATDOESN’T SPECIFICALLYCATERTOYOURTYPEOFCUSINE I am gonna go All-America on your ass, like Charlie in Always Sunny. We went last Tuesday night and sat on the patio. Kate inside bartending, cannot recall our servers name outside, but she was WONDERFUL. Beers were quickly served, bacon-fat popcorn was tasty, wing were good. Just a good old fashioned, TV’s everywhere, kinda non-descript place to drink beer, watch sports. Which this corner does not have. They have a shot and a beer deal for $ 10. Not bad. Knocking off 1 star since beer was a little pricy…

I had high expectations for this sports bar so I was very disappointed with our experience. There isn’t a host; it’s seat yourself which would work if they were sufficiently staffed. We sat down, waited for 10 minutes just to get waters and menus, then another 20 minutes with empty water glasses and still no service. We ended up leaving and going to Lyndale Taphouse. Don’t waste your time on Iron Door.

It hurts me to write this, but I feel like I just got out of a sad Bar Rescue stress test. I was pretty excited to get a real sports bar in uptown. I haven’t yet been able to find a spot that subscribed to Sunday ticket and consistently cranked the game audio. Iron Door may have the«sports» going for it, but, after waiting 25+ minutes and only being visited once by wait staff to drop off waters and menus(which had quite a few items marked off), we finally headed for the door.
