I like Taraccino. I’ve gotten a couple specialty drinks and they’ve been good. I just moved to Minneapolis so I don’t have a strong grasp on the coffee scene but this is my favorite of the local places I’ve visited so far. Every time I’ve stopped I’ve been able to find parking within a block which is a plus. I’ve also bought their coffee to take home which has been good! The staff is friendly. Can’t speak for the wifi but there are always a few people working so it must work! Oh and I had a white chocolate apricot scone the last time I was here which was delicious! Nothing fancy but local and does the trick!

I love this place, after having a bad morning this is just what I needed! I was recently in Minneapolis for a long weekend, and on my last day I rented a bike and found this place. It wasn’t even that far away from my hotel, so I was gutted I only found it on my last day! The staff were great and friendly, talking to me about where I am from and what I thought of Minnesota. Their coffee menu was great, I tried two of their speciality coffees, both mochas and they were both fantastic. It is a little bit pricey, it was the same prices as a starbucks but it was worth it for a great coffee with a personal touch. The coffee shop was a little small, but felt exactly how a coffee shop should feel, laid-back and relaxed. I spent a while at this coffee shop. I personally think they really nailed how a coffee shop should be. If you are visiting this area, I totally recommend trying this place out. I didn’t try any of their food but that also looked really good. :)

Good coffee, good place to sit and work, but why on earth would you serve a muffin that’s clearly been over baked and the top is hard as a hockey puck?! See the picture I have of my blueberry muffin. Once you got rid of the top part muffin was decent…

Weak coffee, slow internet, no cell service in the building. I came here to get stuff done, wasted an hour fighting with the wireless and getting an extra double shot in my Americano so it actually tasted like coffee. No food either, the case has two things in it. And they need to vacuum in here!

Best coffee shop ever. I don’t even bother to go to national chains anymore because the quality isn’t there. After having a latte at Taracinno, I am disappointed with most other places. The tea lattes are excellent as well.

Here’s the black swan: many people are enthusiastic about Taraccino, but I’m not… it is indeed a pretty comfy and nice cafè, but nothing special. It is a nice place to work, and I have to say that the wi-fi seems pretty fast, but I’m still not impressed. I think the drinking portions are a bit too little; also, I came once during the week and the waitress didn’t tell me about the promotion of the day, even if my order was edible for it. I would have appreciated it a lot!

During a mid week day was crowded. Since there was only one employee, there was a slight backlog. However she was efficient and got the orders moving along. Solid cold brew to go. Interesting theyre connected to the Bruegger’s which seems to have their own coffee? Solid caffeine option in the old, town area

I come here often because I live and work in the area. While the coffee may not be the best I’ve had, it’s definitely decent and the staff members are always so friendly and easy to talk to. I appreciate the cozy, quiet environment which is perfect on days that I just want to read a book, or need to simmer down in between shifts. Keep it up, folks! Also, delicious zucchini muffins.

I love this place with its friendly service and laid back vibe. Great place to study since the background music is never too loud and people generally here to read the news or to study. The best hot chocolate around brings me here too!

It’s an unofficial social club for senior citizens. They talk loudly. Not a place to do work.

One of the best coffee houses downtown. Remarkable coffee and an amazing chocolate muffin. Solid wi-fi and decent seating. Not sure you need much else.

Five Stars, you go Taraccino! Great coffee, great brownies and GREAT staff. This is an almost daily stop for me. My only complaint is the cheap plastic cups, but I bring my own so that solves it.

Solid coffee and tea offerings. I like supporting small businesses so this place is a great place to spend some coffee money. They have a decent punch card loyalty drink program and it’s good for a free drink after every 10 purchases I think. I like that it’s directly connected to Brueggers!

This shop used to be a regular stop for me, then negative trends started to happen between late 2011 and 2012. They have less of a food selection than in previous years and are out of many pastries by mid to late morning. The Dark Roast sometimes is great and sometimes bitter there is inconsistency. There is a Barista that tends to take a break while it is busy leaving one poor soul at the counter to handle the rush while she takes a smoke in front. I had to update the password on my device as I have a difficult time connecting to their Wi-Fi and had to frankly give up trying. I asked what the current password was and a guy at counter said he didn’t know. He then asked the female Barista and she snapped back, «same as it’s always been.» They both turned their backs as the female walked off in the back and guy started cleaning the equipment.

Oh how I have hungered for a good Cuban Coffee! Ever since my Cuban shop guy quit and took with him my morning Cuban coffee I have been searching MN coffee shops for someone that had an idea of how to make a good one. This nice little laid back coffee shop and a understanding for this delightful drink. She added a little cinnamon to the grids and gave it a nice little twist but it was very good! Now off to find a good mojito! KT

I’ve never really been the«coffee shop» type. I’d much rather get my drink and go than head somewhere with my homework, computer, book, friend, etc. I won’t say that Taraccino’s has changed this for me, but it has significantly increased my coffee shop frequency… which is especially impressive considering that I don’t drink coffee(save for the odd cold press or two). Yes, part of it may be that it’s right in my neighborhood but I also really enjoy the«vibe» here. Even on the more crowded days, you don’t feel like everyone is stopping what they’re doing to stare at you when you walk in. The baristas are friendly and funny and I’ve been here enough that they know my drink(not that a large, black currant ice tea is particularly hard to remember… but it’s still nice). There’s a wide selection of both hot and cold drinks as well as gelato, baked goods, and waffles(think those are only until one). They also sell pre-packaged coffee and chai as well as those flavored syrups that are used at most shops. Every day of the week(actually…I forget if they do this on Sun. or not…) they have a different daily deal. The only ones I remember off the top of my head are 15% off cold press on Wed. and 10% off bulk coffee on Fri. and Sat. Not bad! They also offer a drink punch card thing so if you’d like to make Taraccino’s a habit, pick one up. Their hours are a bit limited in the evening.

Taraccino, I never remember how to spell your name. Otherwise I feel quite comfortable here… and I know that for certain because I am actually here right now. I’ve been here a handful of times and their coffee does what coffee is supposed to do, no more and no less. They also serve some frozen treats in the summer(gelato or ice cream) and lots of sweet frapped specialty drinks, which I skip. I have more of an affinity for lattes and black coffee. I also have an affinity for Taraccino’s cool tattoo-like logo of a flying coffee bean with angel wings. It looks so cute printed on their cups like a stylish tramp stamp. I’m not being sarcastic, guys… I really like it. The shop is attached to Bruegger’s, so you can get a bagel sandwich or something if you’re not interested in their small selection of bakery case items. They also have something on the special board right now about a waffle. Interesting! The atmosphere comfortable, as I said, but it’s nothing special aside from an exposed brick wall, some local art and a cute little wood burning fireplace. Looking around, it could be improved greatly with a little investment(spackling the many nail holes in the wall, repainting, getting rid of the hotel lobby carpet, etc.). It could look really fly. Are people still saying«fly?» Notes: Parking is metered nearby, but easy to find during the day. The meters take credit cards and coins.

Baby it’s cold outside. What the hell was I thinking leaving my hat and gloves at home? Apparently the whipping snow flurries weren’t a strong enough indicator that it wasn’t balmy outside. Thank goodness for Taraccino. I was chilled to the bone and was looking to warm up. Being a good local citizen, I really wanted to avoid a chain shop. So, I took a try at Honey — the newish lounge next to Ginger Hop. Not open till 5:30. Were they hinting that 4 is too early for a drink? Then upon seeing the Rachel’s across the street, I caught a tiny glimpse of Taraccino Café. Quick side note here… what the hell is that Rachel’s all about? Did a Rachel’s restaurant exist here once — I feel like I’ve seen it forever but never with an accompanying business, but anyway… I ducked into Taraccino for a latte. It’s a nice spot — I wouldn’t say there’s a ton of character, but that’s probably because it opens up with Bruegger’s, which I wouldn’t classify as a bastion of original thought. There’s a tiny stove top fire place, which considering the weather, was a lovely sight. The servers were friendly and they delivered my milk-art latte to my table. Nice touch. The drink is pretty decent as well. They have wifi and it’s an OK spot to get some work done. While I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, I’m sure appreciative of it today.
