I had a subpar haircut and was not happy, so on a whim I dropped in to the salon and asked about their services, fully expecting to have to make an appointment for a later date.
The receptionist was polite and able to answer my questions as well as steer me on who to see.
Erin was just finishing with a client and had some time before her next. She graciously came over and talked to me about what I wanted, and fit me in!
She did such an amazing job and was so kind. She fixed the subpar haircut and gave me exactly what I had wanted.
This place is a MUST if you need fantastic service with wonderful results. Erin was PHENOMENAL!

I’m no different than most girls. I trust my hair cutting and styling to one specific worthy stylist and I would go to that person forever. When I moved to Minnesota a couple years back, I was really stressed out in finding a good stylist and not wanting to go through the trial and error process till I find the one. Face it, this process is not as enjoyable like let’s say… dating. With dating, though you may have to kiss a lot of frogs, at least you were eating and drinking. You could say buh bye and move on to the next bull frog. With hair stylist, you may get stuck with screwed up mane for months.
I asked some friends for recommendations, and two of my friends recommended Jen Cummings of Salon LaTerre. They both have gone to her over ten years! It was enough for me to make up my mind to try her. I have been going to her now in the last two years. She’s great and I love how she cuts my hair. I don’t even have to tell her what I want now and she just does it nicely each time. She’s really fast too and she gives the best hair wash.
I love coming here for haircut with Jen. The salon is pretty and clean. The price is not outrageous at all and I am always happy with the outcome. They’re never pushy about selling you products either. It’s great. They also serve you wine if you want some. How cool is that!
I highly recommend Jen. My hair is thick and straight. It is hard to make it lay nice and she always does wonder with it. Plus, she’s very nice and pleasant person. I just can’t say anything negative about my experience at Salon LaTerre and I wasn’t at all surprised that their overall rating is 5 stars. It’s truly well deserved.

I travel 90 miles just have Tom cut my hair. Great atmosphere, great staff, great location, and reasonably priced. I recommend the man in the room all the time.

Marcy Darling is fantastic. I first went to her when the hair salon I went to upon moving to town BUTCHERED my hair. IT took years to grow out, and she helped me not to look horrid every step of the way.
Color, cuts, waxing, special event hair do, blow outs… she does it all really well, and with a fantastic sense of humor… I always laugh in her chair, even when I’m freaking out. For my wedding, she even came in really bloody early so that we had enough time to get my hair done and to fit in 3 out of town members of my bridal party.
And she does a fantastic job with curly hair!!!

Excellent salon. Tom Zeis is a genius!

I love Salon LaTerre, It’s a nice small shop, that just got remodeled, so it has a clean, modern vibe. The staff is super friendly and talented. Tom Zeis is a great colorist and a Whiz with curly hair, and CHEAP for someone so good.

I’ve been getting my hair done here for years, and I will never change. Tom Zeis is THE BOMB! Far and away the best hairdresser for curly hair that I have ever encountered. The new remodel on the place is also fabulous. Totally the best hair salon in Minneapolis!
