So Sad that it closed. But here is my review if it is ever resurrected. Campiello is one of my favorites. I have never tried anything I didn’t like. It’s beautiful, the service is great, they have valet and the prices aren’t ridiculous. The variety on the menu is perfect for nearly any type of mood from heavy pasta to salads, to delectable meats. The menu is frequently updated and has wonderful seasonal items. My personal favorites are the risotto and gnocchi. Slight starch overload, but worth every calorie. The patio is like a getaway in the middle of uptown. I have been here for dates, anniversaries, with girlfriends and with family. It is great for many occasions. Sadly, the Eden Prairie location is not nearly as fabulous.

Campiellos, both this location and the one out in Eden Prairie, is my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities by far. The food is amazing and the service has always been top-notch as well. The pastas actually taste more like real Italian pasta than an «Americanized» version. Be sure to check out their wine list too — some of the Italian wines are fantastic(although pretty expensive)! ****** Update on the above review: Ohh, I’m so sad that the Uptown Campiellos location has closed. Like Kristen O I heard about rent going up, and that’s just wrong. That whole building was meant for this restaurant!!! For people that still want great Campiello’s food, I really recommend the Eden Prairie location!

The food here is AMAZING! My only regret is that I didn’t try this place sooner — now I guess they’re closing the weekend of 6÷21÷08 b/c rent went up astronomically per month and they can’t afford to keep it open. I had the pork tenderloin with gnocci and it was just incredible. I normally can’t eat very much at one sitting, but I plowed through this thing like it was nobody’s business. My fiancé got the ribs and was just in heaven. Our waiter was super nice, and we sat outside on the patio, and everything was just so pleasant. Ooh and the peach martini was bomb. :) I think the waiter said there is another location opening(or maybe open already) in Eden Prairie — so check that one out if you can make the drive! :)

What doesn’t this place have? Great atmosphere, service fit for a king, monthly regional menu specials, and some of the best risotto I’ve ever had(ask them for a side of it; it’s not on the menu, but they’ll figure it out for you). The simple fact is that I’ve never had a bad meal here. Indeed, I’ve never had anything but great meals here. Great place to take your parents from out of town. Or your date from St. Paul. Whatever. Just call for reservations a week in advance, or be willing to play it by ear.
