Grabbed lunch to go. Service was pretty quick. Got the lunch special– chicken souvlaki with rice and soda and chicken souvlaki with greek salad which was a dollar more. Funny how eating healthier is always more expensive! But it was a decent lunch portion, fairly affordable. Souvlaki chicken was tasty. Loved the pita bread. My husband liked the rice. I would go again!

HeeHee, here we go again. No matter how many times I try to change the sign in, my reviews come up under my husband’s name. Can someone do a Unilocal review on Unilocal??Nancy Nurse I saw some mediocre reviews, but I thought this place was great. Our neighbor from a few years ago, was from Greece, doing a Residency here at Winthrop, used to get take out a few times a week. I am mad that I never tried it before. Last week we had a lamb platter, and a chicken platter. Didn’t get the potatoes, carb counting. The grilled veggies were wonderful, the sliced lamb tender, the chicken chunks and lamb were both juicy. The greek salad was really good, and the lentil soup was dynamite. just enough spice. Tonite we got the lamb platter in chunks, since my husband likes his meat well done, he said it was a little chewier, but good. When he brought the order home, the soup was wrong, lemon chicken soup instead of the lentil. A bummer, since I gave up meat for Lent. And I must have ordered the wrong salad than I thought, because it was just lettuce and mint, with feta cheese, not the cucumber, tomato, grape leaves one we had last week. I guess I should have asked more questions on the phone. Maybe the online menu could give descriptions. But their salad dressing is really good, so the plainish salad was still good. The number is now on speed dial here, because while it’s not a huge menu, it has a decent selection, and the food is fairly priced, and filling. And tastes GOOD. :)

I commute on the LIRR, so this is a convenient place to stop by when I’m working late. Not much competition in the neighborhood since there are very few places to get take-out within walking distance of the LIRR. Service is always quick; prices ok; but the food is just ok(not great but not too bad either). I usually get their gyro sandwich and/or Greek salad. I do love their salad dressing but their tzatziki sauce is a little on the watery side. Too bad Fontana’s isn’t close by!

An old reliable standby in downtown Mineola. Nothing much to say about the décor or the counter set up. However the Greek salads are decent, a small with a protein makes for a filling lunch. Mine with crunchy flavorful falafel and tzatziki no tahini, loads of crumbled feta, and as always and forever a single dolma and one pepperoncini, 2 olives was serviceable. Waitstaff friendly and efficient.

Place is solid. Good lamb gyro and Greek salad. More of a 3 and a half but I don’t know how to do half stars.

Been coming here for years. The food is consistently good. Chicken Gyro is my staple. The salad dressing is delish and I could eat a ton of their tzatziki sauce. The pita’s are fresh and warm. Nice family run business.

Eh. I used to like this place years ago when I was younger, but now I wouldn’t recommend it. I went here the other day and tried a few things. First, a gyro, which was with meat from one of the big pre-made spits. The meat was sliced and then ostensibly thrown on a grill, where it was cooked until it got a little burnt and dry on the edges. Not a dealbreaker, but I like homemade gyro meat more(unfortunately most places have the pre-made spit), and it doesn’t need to be as well-done. The white sauce was tasty. Pitas were not made freshly, but most places don’t make their own so that’s forgivable I suppose. I am a falafel lover, but the falafel here seemed almost certainly prefrozen and premade. They were probably the most dismal falafel I’ve ever had(yuck). Also very small falafel balls. The spinach pie was pretty good on the other hand. Staff was friendly enough, and I like the hole in the wall mom and pop feel of this place. The prices are pretty affordable at least. If you’re willing to drive 5 minutes, and spend a little more money, I’d definitely go to Wild Fig in Garden City over this place. Much better everything, and a much bigger menu.

While it may be quick and inexpensive buyer beware and bring cash with you when you go there. I had used my Mastercard only in this shop within the past few months and on Christmas Eve I was alerted to someone attempting to use the numbers online. I IMMEDIATELY canceled by card and contacted the business through Facebook a day or so later with no response.

Cheap, quick and convenient. A great hit of you call in your order for pickup. I usually get the turkey burger with a small chicken lemon soup. Total cost is under ten dollars. Can’t beat it.

I used to like going here, but the quality of the food has changed ALOT! I had the chicken platter and the meat was dry, also had the shrimp platter and that was dry too. The salad was thrown together very poorly. I think they have changed owners because it used to be owned by a family and I don’t see them there any more. I won’t be going back anymore, have to find another Greek spot.

I grew up in the area and work right near this place and its fantastic. Definitely the best Greek spot in town and neighboring towns. The place looks like you could easily miss it but it is by far worth the trip. People who work there are very nice, food is always promp and always delicious.

Whenever there’s a special occasion at the office, we usually get lunch catered from here — and it’s always been good. Unfortunately, I decided to stop in one day last week with my boyfriend for gyros. Definitely not the same quality meat. The lamb is dry, tough to chew, and cut in impractically large pieces. The chicken looks like processed deli meat and tastes pretty bland. No thank you.

Great little mom and pop place. I always order the Greek salad and its so yummy! Fills me right up. The food is fresh! Although portions could be better presentation is nice. Maria is the«waiter» and does a great job with all the customers. Usually a go to place for employees/visitors at the nearby hospital(Winthrop)

This is my go to Lunch spot! The food is always fresh and made to order, I’ve never had a bad dish here. The chicken gyro or the greek salad are my personal faves. The falafel is good also and well as the baklava. Prices are low, friendly service and great quality. The olive oil dip and the fresh pita come with your salad order and the dip is so tasty. I’m glad I work so close to this place and can keep coming here as often as I like.

Delicious, very reasonable prices, fast and friendly service. I had the chicken souvlaki pita sandwich(yum) and my boyfriend got the beef kebabs over rice(apparently the best caramelized onions he’s ever had in his life), and we shared the tiramisu(also apparently the best tiramisu he’s ever had in his life). The best part was the price… we got pita w/tatziki and some sort of olive oil dip, a greek salad, huge plate of kebabs, pita sandwich, dessert, and 2 sodas for just over $ 20. Definitely coming back again!
