Service was off, not so good. The food was pretty good. I liked the rice pudding and the bread basket has a lot of good stuff in it. A little pricy. The fish was fresh and so were the salads. The tomato dressing was very good.

The best part of this experience was the drinks and the complimentory bread. I was starving, so I got the Salmon burger and I have admit… It was disgusting! I couldn’t finish it. My wife got some chicken dish, she thought it was mediocre. Not sure why but the median age of the people dining in the Restaurant has to be like 65+. Probably won’t be returning again. Didn’t think it was worth the price. Food was not great.

Jonathan’s is always a solid choice for a mid-level restaurant. My family and I have been going to Jonathan’s for years now and we always look forward to their oven fresh cornbread. They probably offer the best breadbasket I have ever had at a restaurant. I’m a big fan of their baby back ribs and baked potatoes but on my most recent visit, I was sad to see that it was no longer on the menu. In mourning of the my ribs, I went in the complete opposite direction and ordered a mediterranean salad with salmon. To my surprise, it was better than expected. While the salmon was a tad overcooked, the olives and the sliced prosciutto rounded out the dish nicely. The fried calamari and spring rolls that were ordered were also quite delicious. The waitstaff is consistently on point and the service in general is friendly.

Jonathan’s has quickly graduated from a mere fallback to one of our family’s go-to restaurants for all special celebratory meals. Our last dinner there reminded me of several reasons why, along with the fact that I had not yet taken to Unilocal to give it a fair review. So, here I am. Firstly, ambiance, atmosphere, and attendance. While the menu reflects prices that tip toward the slightly higher end(in other words, at least a fifth date), both the interior and exterior are decorated in a style that I can only describe as ‘subtle snazzy’. With dimmed lights, gentle background music, and little touches like thick, leather bound menus, this is a place that wants to be on your list for«nicer dinners». Servers and waiters remain present without being intrusive. Instead of taking our order from the head of the table and having us shout at him, our head waiter personally migrated to each section while doling out helpful advice to our more indecisive members. Water glasses were constantly refilled and requests tended to quickly. All of this definitely set the stage. Our table ordered several appetizers and a long list of entrees that drew from nearly the entire scope of Jonathan’s menu. A mainstay appetizer for our family is the fried calamari. While it may not be particularly mind-blowing nor unique, it’s consistently done well here — crispy, hot, and cooked to cephalopodic tenderness — and far more ‘shareable’ for larger parties than, say, the $ 9 buffalo spring rolls(two per plate) or the jumbo shrimp cocktail, which we didn’t count so I cannot enumerate but suffice it to say that it seemed like a laughable amount for a whopping $ 16. Our takes on the entrée course were scattered depending on what we ordered, but no one was displeased with their meal. Clear winners were the seafood pasta, risotto dishes, and pasta in vodka sauce. My own salmon primavera landed squarely in the slightly-above-average zone. The salmon medallions were just a shade overcooked but well-seasoned and the accompanying vegetables and pasta were perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that the pasta was pretty plain, even boring and bland. It is a problem with most pasta primaveras but arguably not the way it should be. Still, I tipped my hand with the four-star review because I’ve had better luck with my orders before. Vegetarian paella is the clear choice for non-meat eaters but not a boring one by any means. Carnivores might be pleased to know that the three meat dishes ordered on our last visit(ribs, skirt, and ribeye) were given decent thumbs up. And, before I forget, the free bread basket includes cornbread that everyone in our family has agreed is «the best cornbread in the world». And, in case you were wondering, we always ask for more and ask for it to go(along with our leftovers). To their credit, they always — kindly — do.

Tried to make reservations for New Years Eve, had 12 people, the girl on the phone said the max is usually 8. She said she would ask the Mgr if it was ok for 12. When she came back and said the mgr said ok, I asked for the managers name so I wouldn’t have a problem when I showed up with 12. She got snotty with me and said«you know, it is a holiday and we’re very busy,». Needless to say, I cancelled my reservations!

I’ve been wanting to visit Jonathan’s for years but never got the chance. When a special family birthday came around, I decided this was the perfect place to have a family lunch. Initially our group was going to be much larger and Jonathan’s had no problem accommodating us when I made the reservation about 3 weeks in advance. However, as we got closer to the date, the number of attendees was a bit lower than anticipated. I called and informed them the week of, with no problems. I also spoke with the manager and asked if bringing an outside cake would be an issue, he said not at all and since our party was smaller than expected, he wouldn’t charge the full cake cutting fee. The day of, those in the party arrived earlier than the guest of honor and myself and they were promptly seated with no problems. The restaurant is beautiful, very classical/almost old-school in its décor and atmosphere but it works. We had a nice corner table, service was awesome. The lunch menu is extensive and includes a prix fixe lunch menu for $ 20 which includes appetizer, entrée and dessert. Many options available with or without the prix fixe menu and prices are very reasonable. Even the drink menu is top shelf, vast and affordable. I had a Moscow Mule, which was served in the traditional cup and it was delicious, $ 10! Our food came out steaming hot and stayed that way as we ate it. It’s so hard to find a restaurant that can still serve HOT food(usually by the time it makes it to your table, it’s already warm or as you’re eating it, it cools down quickly), I loved this. I had the tilapia as part of the prix fixe menu and it was very tasty. My dessert was the waffle sundae, awesome! Everything was paced accordingly and right after we finished our included desserts, they brought out the cake with candles(which we wound up not cutting b/c we were full!). So happy with this as my choice. It was really special.

I had the Combination Virginia Ham and Turkey special today for Thanksgiving. Plenty of portion size and overall good meal. Salad, Ham, mashed potatoes and stuffing were excellent but the turkey was dry and very little gravy was provided. It may have been better if there had been more gravy. Opted for dessert since it was included in the price. NOT A GOODCHOICE! The Coconut Custard pie was frozen and there was no custard. Definitely store bought. I’ve been to Jonathan’s three times and the food is always good. Maybe it’s just this time.

Just had a fabulous dinner with my family to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. Everyone’s food was great. I ordered the sirloin which was a huge cut of meat. Perfectly cooked and tasty. I ordered a baked potato but when I saw my sister’s mashed potatoes I got jealous. The waiter heard me and brought me a small side of them without asking him. Great service!

Went for my birthday dinner for the Friday night lobster bake. I had the lobster steamed with a delicious Caesar salad. The lobster was cooked to perfection. My husband had the lamb chops with homemade lamb sausage and risotto. He proclaimed his meal«outstanding.» I’ve had lobster many times but this was one of the best… ever. Orange crème brûlée for dessert with(not bitter) espresso to end the night. Had a couple raspberry martinis too. So good. Can’t wait to go back!

I always pass this place and it wasn’t until one of my commuter friends raved about it did I decide to try it out. My family and I went on a Sunday evening(~6 pm) under a reservation with Open Table and were seated immediately. There were several parties going on throughout the restaurant but plenty of seating available. To my surprise, they had a daily pre-fixe menu of 3 courses for 28.95 which I took advantage of. I had baked clams for appetizers, bronzino for my entrée and the chocolate mousse cake for dessert. The food was delicious! I ordered a Brazilian cosmo which was too strong for my liking but the waiter was more than happy to switch it for a regular cosmo, which tasted much better. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. I will definitely be back to Jonathan’s!

This is my favorite place. We have had birthday parties, anniversaries, engagements, client meetings and communions here. My husband and I started going here to have a «date night» dinner out away from the kids. 10 years later. this is «our place». Jonathan’s never disappoints, even when the restaurant is packed. You don’t feel like you are on top of one another, white table clothes, nice presentation and attentive service. Where can you go on New Year’s Eve and have a top quality meal served to you like you were any other night of the week. Most of the recipes are family traditions and it shows in the quality of the meal. The best part is the staff and the owner treat their customers as if they were their family or friends. The owners walk around from table to table, they greet their guest like as if they were in their home. The bar area is a nice place to stop and have a night cap before going home or to catch a sporting event

My mom threw my bridal shower here. Everything was beautiful, the room was nice and private. It had a door on the side so we didnt have to lug the gifts through the whole restaurant to the cars. All of my guest raved about how nice my shower was. A friend, who is hard to please actually told her mother she should have her shower there. I was there previously for another bridal shower. Food and service were great.

Stopped in to try Jonathan’s Wednesday Lobster Bake, but ended up with their $ 28.95pp Price Fixe dinner instead. They were out of baked clams, so I had the stuffed mushroom appetizer, which was very rich(due to the pool of cream sauce it was served atop) but savory and satisfying. My mom had the Gorgonzola pear salad which I tried and loved – candied pecans, Gorgonzola, red Anjou pears, craisins, and a cranberry vinaigrette. The complimentary bread basket was served warm, with soft onion rolls, corn bread, peasant bread, and brown sweet rolls with raisins… all yummy and fresh. For dinner, mom had the pot roast, which I also had to sample, and found very tasty and tender but a bit over salted. Her accompanying mashed potatoes were a little bland. I had the filet mignon medallions, which were cooked well and topped with mushrooms in a brown sauce, and accompanied by two delightful potato-scallion pancakes, asparagus and carrots. For dessert, mom had the carrot cake… yes, I tried that too and it was good, but very sweet. I had the cheesecake, which was very creamy and delicious. I love carrot cake, but was so happy with the cheesecake. That’s how I know it was especially good. Overall, the meal was very good and the service was great. The place was packed with the elderly set. It sort of felt like we were on an Alaskan cruise. But those white hairs have good taste! Lol

Lobster!!! What more can I say? Great wine*(see below), service and food. Maine lobsters available Wednesday’s and Fridays. There’s also a great prix fixe menu with great appys and entrée and desserts for under $ 30. Good reliable go to restaurant. The only complaint I have is that they’re really skimpy on the wine by the glass. A mini carafe is presented probably to disguise how little wine they actually serve you. It’s basically not even ¼ of the wine glass when filled. One star deduction for skimpiness.

We went this evening for my daughter’s graduation. I started with shrimp with mango salad which was terrific. My wife and daughter had a Cesar salad an calamari which we all enjoyed. For our main course I got the salmon burger with avocado, lettuce tomato and red onion which was good. b My wife had the veggie/chicken Paella and my daughter grilled chicken penned Ala vodka and both were great. This was our 1st time here in quite awhile and I would certainly recommend a visit. We will return.

Jonathan’s is a gigantic restaurant, more reminiscent of a catering hall, than a restaurant, which is both a positive and a negative in their case. The décor is very nice, with comfortable seating and nicely designed rooms. It definitely has a level of class, which is supplemented by the valet, which makes life easier for everyone. The food here is good, the dishes are fairly well executed, but they remind me more of catering hall food, than a fine dining establishment. Everything looks nice, and tastes fine, but nothing has blown me away. I don’t know if that is a product of this being a gigantic restaurant, or the fact that they have a large menu, regardless, the food is decent. I must say though, the bread basket is great. The onion rolls are stellar. Would I return? Yes, it is good for a large group, the service is good, and the food is good as well.

Traditional food, slightly overpriced and has been around for years. Personally, I am not a huge fan. I think you could get more bang for your buck elsewhere. Semi formal

I came here a few years ago and I recall having a very average meal. I decided to give it another shot for brunch since my palette has changed. First of all, there was only valet parking. I hate that. Especially in a parking lot. I can park my car in a lot by myself, thank you very much. Then I have to wait to get my car, annoying. Anyway, it was pretty crowded but we were seated right away. We all ordered iced coffee which I liked but no one else did. We were served a superb bread basket. The onion roll is the best. They also have some bagels, cornbread, etc in there. I then ordered the Spinach & Gorgonzola Omelet which originally is with spinach, bacon, and Gorgonzola cheese. However, I substituted the gorgonzola wit cheddar, since I’m not a fan of Gorgonzola. The omelet is served with 2 little hash brown potato cakes. Both the eggs and hash browns were very basic. No stand-out flavor. Jonathan’s is a good choice if you are with picky eaters and need a lot of basic options. Then again, you can always stick to a diner for an equal but cheaper meal.
