I came here with a coworker after a long shift, the sushi here is pretty good! The spicy tuna roll was my favorite, spider roll was ok. My coworker got an eel avocado roll which was also pretty good! Their green tea fried ice cream was not bad. I would recommend this place.

This is the worst sushi ever me and my coworkers ordered many times trying to give them a chance each time it was worse than the last time. Tonight we ordered and it was soooo bad we all got stomach pains. Tried calling them but they were closed at 1050 pm. Will call them tomorrow to get my $ back !!!

I live within walking distance, and this place fulfills my asian food needs… Probably not the absolute best asian food around but it hits the spot when I have a craving and it’s convenient.

Disappointed in the way service is handled here. First off, prices that are rung up on the bill almost never align with the prices on the menu. When I mentioned this to my waiter, he just argued and neglected to deal with the incorrect prices. Such a shame that Niji will be losing out on a potential regular customer!

I have been to and ordered out from Niji multiple times, and everytime the food is amazing. The staff is awesome and I havent had a problem with anything in months. Im looking forward to having my birthday here in a few months. My favorite: Chicken Lo Mei(spicy)

Decided to come here because it’s close to home. I walked in and the entire place was empty it also had a very peculiar smell like dirty dish towels. The sushi was mediocre at best and I was charged for two additional rolls which I never received. When I told my waiter this all he did was argue with me.

Went during my lunch break a few months back. It was after the lunch rush. So it was quiet and very clean. The staff was very friendly. And, the sushi was really good. Priced well too.

I have yet to dine in at Niji but my co-workers and I order plenty of take out from here(tip: its on Seamless and GrubHub). Niji is located where Jani used to be on Mineola Blvd. I am a big fan of their sushi dishes. Its consistently fresh, delicious and you can substitute with brown rice! The downfall comes in their non-sushi dishes — both entrees and apps. Idk how many dishes we’ve tried — with high/delicious expectation — only to get something mediocre. I don’t think this place is anything to write home about, but the delivery is quick(usually less/around 30minutes) and the delivery service/men are top-notch.

This is what it’s like when an ancient and beautiful art form such as sushi is bastardized. This place has sacrificed quality, taste, and purity for a modern décor that is quite honestly an epic fail. I would write specifics but it’s just not worth the time. Let’s just say they the fish was fishy. I mean like a dumpster at south street seaport fishy.

Like this restaurant and it is not busy at all during weekday. The service is wonderful and food is delicious as well. The price is not expensive at all to Japanese food.

I love this place! All of the food is offered at a great price and incredible! It’s a vast improvement from the former Asian fusion restaurant that was in this location prior to NIJI. I’m a big fan of the sesame encrusted salmon and coconut fried rice. The sushi roll selection is outta this world! While all the rolls I’ve had so far are absolutely delightful, I recommend the Hawaii Mango and the Amazing rolls. It’s a good restaurant to pick for a quiet dinner, as the place still seems to be picking up business and have few patron that actually din in. They are great with pickup and delivery orders, always having the food piping hot and ready on time. Good food, good prices, goo service. NIJI deserves all 5 stars in every department.

Was not happy at all with the pad Thai tonight. Very bland. I’ve had it other times and it was delicious. The chicken doesn’t even look or taste real.

I went there for a birthday lunch with my friend Joe. His sushi was good. I ordered the Mango Beef and let me tell you, I am not sure what they are using for beef, BUT I assure you that it is not beef. It actually makes me sick to think of what it actually could be. I did not eat the rest and ate only my brown rice with soy sauce on it. Horrible!!!

So I’ve given this place a couple more try’s. Tonight came here withy a party of 6. Most haven’t been since the transition from Janis. I must say they are getting their act together! Everyone was very happy with their food. In addition the plating and care taken with the food is something above and beyond the typical Asian fusion restaurants. The service still needs improvement but they are getting better and in can certainly acknowledge that. I’d move this to a definitely try it out and give it a chance. The décor is nice, food is good, and service is improving. I will be back.

Met a friend for dinner who loves sushi as much as I do. We ordered four special rolls and not one was good. They all tasted so bland, and we were very disappointed! The service was prompt initially with only two other people in there, but the waiter never came by to fill our water glasses, maybe because it was his first night. Would never go back.

My coworkers and I have ordered take-out from here a few times during our lunch break. They have a solid three-roll sushi special, but not as good as the one at Jane’s Café down the block. Owner is nice, but the waitstaff always seems clueless. Would probably keep ordering from here solely out of convenience, but the atmosphere and food are not appealing enough to be worth going out of my way to dine in.

Three cheers for Asian Fusion, where the perpetually hungry AND indecisive can just about ALWAYS find SOMETHING to satisfy all those random cravings! We stopped here for a very late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday and shared several yummy, creative sushi rolls, my fav. seaweed salad, a flavorful Pad Thai with chicken, and a decently sized shrimp wonton soup. Reasonably priced(surprise 10% dinner discount a bonus!!) with attentive service and quiet, well-decorated dining room. Their take-out menu looks like it’s full of plenty of great choices as well… Great spot! TOOBAD they don’t deliver to Ohiooooooooo!!!

So I had 2 tries with this restaurant that I had went with friends to try out for lunch on the weekend. they woe us with their nice decoration and big modern signs, but our high hope for them tank to the bottom after we sat down at the table. The waiter was nice and pleasant, and came quickly to take our orders. However for some reason she can’t remember which of us order which entrée and we had to re-direct her to the right person for each time (accept the last person that got the food, which there was only one person waiting for the food). I understand if the place was packed and she has trouble remembering the order, but we were the only table there; which I think was a bit unprofessional and inexperience at waiting table. The menu at weekend lack the flexibility to give its patron choice of special, or combination dishes for lunch; which normally all restaurant do offer some sort of combination dish. This not only help the patron get a small sample of the full entrée that you offer at normal time, and help spread the word for the restaurant. But they don’t have it, so just giving you an FYI if you decided to come during weekend hours. The entrees that we got was either too salty, or too sweet; it looks like the real thing, but once its in your mouth then you realize its far from what it suppose to be. it almost seem that they were trying to get it right, but has been testing their recipe and still at the testing phase. Its like the Egyptian trying to build the pyramid after the 3 Giza pyrramid, and fail since they only can imitate and don’t have the skill to build the real thing. The chicken teriyaki was more like soy sauce and sugar chicken, the pad thai was too sweet for our taste, and it look pinkish for some reason. The stir fry udon was too salty, and the noodle was not cook through. Mango chicken taste blend and lacks flavor. I think we should be happy that the chicken was cooked and not raw at this point. The only good dish that came to our table was the fried vegetable tempura, we were thankful to the kitchen god that he didn’t overfry the dough on the vegetable… I have given two chances for this restaurant to impress me with their food and service, and after 2 different tries with friends I have to say they are not as good we hope them to be. All of us had great hope for this restaurant to be good as we are so close by, but their food and overall service just not up to standard…
