I stopped in here over my lunch hour yesterday for the first time just to get a bottle of hairspray that I knew they carried. When I walked in the salon there was no one there but a young woman behind the counter. Who didn’t say a word of greeting or offer to help me find something; just stood and stared at me. I found the product on my own. She was not friendly and rather abrupt while ringing me up. I was asked to provide my name, phone number, and address just to buy a bottle of hairspray with no explanation as to what was done with my info. I don’t care to give this info to a business I’m not familiar with just to purchase an item. I’m going out of my usual way to spend $ 20 on a small bottle of hairspray anyway. She did say have a nice day or something at the end, but other than that no smile, politeness or anything. If this wasn’t the closest place I know of that carries my product, I would never go back. I’m glad my hairdresser doesn’t have a chair there. I don’t expect to be greeted in every place I walk in to — in fact sometimes I’d prefer to be left alone to my own devices while shopping. But the staring felt inhospitable without some sort of greeting.

I’ve always wanted to donate my hair and the people at Vici did a great job. They helped me style my new short hair just the way I wanted it. Everyone was very friendly and nice!

Took my daughter for a pedicure as a little treat, great parking, efficient staff. The chairs for the pedicures are comfortable on a raised platform and the room is bright and airy. The pedicure included saltscrub, peppermint scent cream. Overall a great experience!

On a whim yesterday, I decided to go to Vici beauty school to try if and get in for a conditioning treatment– I know I was pushing it, but I couldn’t get in, the receptionist suggested that I go across the hall to Vici Capilli) .I am natural, I have very thick hair, my hair gets dry and knotted easily– I needed someone else to touch my hair for a change. It normally takes 3.5 hours at the beauty school. He finished in half the time, he was nice enough to check my ends for me and I would have paid $ 30 on the otherside, I ended up paying $ 21. I will be going back for sure.

My daughter was brought here after me and her mom decided to allow her to grow all natural. They were very professional and courteous. I can say that i did not like the fact that i could not follow her to the artist’s station. I wanted to make sure that she was comfortable. My daughter has never had a perm or relaxer and they promised that they would use no chemicals. This was relieving, however the wash/shampoo and flat ironing wasn’t enough. Her hair was straight but really poofy. She didn’t want that. It didn’t look bad at all and the ends were clipped wonderfully. The stylist was being observed and corrected by the master stylist and instructor. So the apprentice was in my daughters head all willy nilly. You can keep a particular stylist if you like that one versus another this sucked! The prices were reasonable the establishment was clean, professional and modern. I liked that they were able to talk healthy health care and maintenance. I liked it here and so did my daughter but it was just an ok experience. If it were a shop where you could select your own stylist or control more of the experience then it would get a higher rating. Other wise i would recommend it. No real gripes about service, attitude or cleanliness.

I got my first haircut in 1.5 years(I KNOW) at Vici on Saturday, and was mostly impressed with my service. I arrived 5 minutes before my 12:30 appointment with Bunda and was greeted and told to sit. They offered coffee or water, which was nice. About 12:40 a woman came out and told me she would be washing my hair. We sat at a station and she put some yellow oil in my hair, then led me to the washing station. She was very friendly and spent a nice amount of time with the scalp massage — almost put me to sleep!(I was told later by several coworkers that they usually do a paraffin hand wax while your hair is washed, which was not done to me…) Afterwards she led me towards the chairs again and told me to wait for Bunda… she had me sit in an old chair at an abandoned station covered in hair and dust –gross. Bunda was behind me braiding someone elses hair. After several minutes she brought me to her station. The cut was a simple clean-up which is hard to mess up, and she was fine. She was awkward and conversation was pressed… She used a ton of product and was pretty pushy about me buying them — she even grabbed a bottle of each and gave it to me before checkout! I had to go back and put them all in their spots before paying. It was fine overall — $ 28 was a good pricepoint for me, but I would not return to her as a stylist.

I had a male stylist don’t recall his name. He is located on the left side of the salon NOT the school side. His entire area was just filthy combs, mirror, scissor looked like nothing had ever been cleaned. He didn’t even know how to correctly layer hair. I could not believe the manage would not be checking their equipment and work stations. I will never go back.

I have gone in twice for a haircut and have been pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service and quality of performance. I didn’t give 5 stars only because I don’t give those out to everyone. I got a manicure one time and an enzymatic facial with Aveda products last night. My hair is longer so I only need trims when I go and a little fringing in the front. Simple. But I have baby fine hair and not a lot of it. Both students were helpful with volumizing tips. Both of them took advantage and styled it with products and blowdryer. In other words, they practice on your hair in exchange for the low price. Be prepared to stay awhile. My mani was fine. The price was great. The facial was awesome! The music player was broken but I was able to relax anyway without the Amazon background. The facial massage was very soothing, I swear I fell asleep for one second, made a half snore and woke myself up in the span of one second but she denied knowing anything. Aveda aromatherapy is free and I needed this facial badly with the winter weather and dry indoor air. But I am conserving funds and I had to do it on a budget. So, if you are looking to spend little and reap rewards from people that benefit from training on you, go for it. Your realistic expectations will be met and possibly a bit more. I am excited to try their roller curling before an evening event sometime. Hours are generous, but closed Sun and Mon at Bayshore.

The Good CHEAP $ 12 haircut Wash and shampoo included Professional comes around and ensures the haircut is decent before you leave The Bad Slow haircuts Students cutting your hair Luck of the draw… could be pretty cruddy Wait a little bit even if you made an appointment Bottom Line Vici has slow cheap haircuts if you are okay with gambling with the outcome of your hair. Won’t be terrible but it may not be so great. Personal Experience I came here several times before. I was very surprised to see that this is my first check-in here. I have only tried getting haircuts from this beauty school so I cannot say how it compares to others. I had my BEST experience this visit. My hair was cut by a student with a named Dobri. If you see a girl with a Mohawk, definitely request her because she is great. I came in after work all exhausted from my hour commute and expected to fall asleep and drool all over myself during my haircut(was not worried about soaking my clothes with drool because of that gigantic bib). Dobri kept me awake with some fun chit chat. I personally never know what to do with my hair and Dobri actually suggested something a little different to try out. I agreed and it turned out looking great imo! The haircut took a lot longer than a typical haircut at any other place but it’s great for the price and free wash & shampoo. My other experiences at Vici were not so great. It took forever to get my hair trimmed and took forever for the teacher/professional to clean up after a few minor mistakes. Just the haircut took roughly 1 hour and I had to wait in the lobby for 10ish minutes before being seated on the fancy spinny chair. I am not too picky about my hair so I deemed the result to be fine. You just have to face the luck of the draw on what kind of student you get. I personally like the excitement. Twelve dollar plus wash Never know what you will get Will you make the bet?

Well because the people who are doing your hair are still students… I have had some really good experiences here and some very bad ones as well. Your experience is completely dependent on if the person knows what they are doing or not. It is extremely cheap though– I got my hair highlighted and toned for only $ 25 and they did a very good job.

Jade is a genius, and the only person I will trust with my hair. She is a perfectionist who will put in the extra time and work to make sure you’re thrilled with the results. Seriously the best stylist I’ve ever been to. In addition, the front desk staff is friendly, appointments are easy to book, and I like the product lines Vici carries. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else!

Scheduled a pedicure/manicure yesterday for an appointment today. 30 minutes before the appointment today I get a voice message saying that the person who was scheduled to work with me decided to leave early. Not a good first impression.

I guess you get what you pay for. I called to get a quote and they said a color would be $ 40, unless my hair is really long. I have shoulder length hair, pretty standard. So I made the appt and went in just needing a basic color to cover some grey hairs. Once I got there she said it would be $ 65 for all my «extra hair». Whatever, I’m already here. Then, the gts(stylist in training) gave me two options, one that was more red brownish, one that was more blond brown. I chose the blond option. She finished my hair. Only it was obviously really red. She blamed the red tone on the mirror. Well, when I got home, not only was it red, but you could also still see the grey hair!!! Fail.

Front desk service is getto. To much attitude is the morning. If you don’t like your job stay home. It’s not what you say it’s how you say it!

While they do share space, the Vici Capilli Salon is separate from the Vici Capilli School(which has its own Unilocal page). Full disclosure: I am NOT a hair snob. My hair is ridiculously straight and doesn’t cooperate with many styling efforts, so I just let it do its thing and go for the low-maintenance approach. That being said, I don’t like to pay $ 40+ for my hair care. After shopping around for salons in Milwaukee, a friend recommended VC. Prices vary by stylist expertise level, ranging from $ 19.50−50 — much more my style. Within the past year, I’ve been there for hair trims, a bridal trial and final updo, wedding make up, and finally to hack off 8″ of hair for donation. Each time, my experience has been great. Reva is a Graduate Training Student and does fabulous work — I highly recommend her. During my last visit, I was there for nearly 90 minutes. I didn’t think to mention while scheduling that I’d be chopping all my hair off(note: if you do, according to their website, you can get a free cut and style), but I didn’t expect it to take so long — despite a conditioning treatment and the extra time, I was only charged the standard haircut price and never felt rushed. The stylists here are friendly and professional and find a nice balance of expertise and asking for client input. As I mentioned above, I booked my bridal party here. Each member but me lives outside of Milwaukee and was unable to do a trial, but the stylist team was great about working with us. These were some of the best salon prices for bridal parties I could find(around $ 40−50/person), and we were all pleased with the results. We weren’t able to modify our original reservation to accommodate our flower girls due to availability, but the staff was very helpful in setting them up with the VC School at the same time and allowing us to go back and forth to check on them. Their styles definitely took more time but turned out beautifully. Overall, I love this salon and look forward to continuing my visits here. Best part? When you’re all done, you’re already at the mall to spice up the wardrobe to go with your new look!
