Waitress was crabby. Food was overpriced. Caesar salad was just lettuce, no cheese or croutons and they gave me french dressing? Hmmm… Pizza was boring. Their chicken was more like McDonalds chicken nuggets. Good location, but don’t recommend.

I saw that Meglio’s offered something called a triple baked pizza and I couldn’t resist heading over to this pizza joint to give it a shot. I ended up trying a couple of their specialty pizzas, one of them being their self-declared world famous triple baked pizzas. I didn’t know what to expect from this«triple baking» and after eating this pizza, I don’t think I was able to tell a difference from a once baked pizza. It did take longer for the pizza to arrive to the table and it cost a little bit more, but those were the only discernable differences. The pizzas tasted about average but I saw some other people get calzones that looked pretty good. This place is open late on weekends so I think I’ll grab a calzone the next time I get hungry while bar hopping in downtown Milwaukee.

Stopped in last night for a quick bite before work. They were out of bread, so sandwiches were out. I was informed by the counter staff that«someone hadn’t done the ordering,» and that they were«also out of mushrooms,» and«oh, yeah, you’ll have to sign your receipt in pencil because we don’t have any pens, but we won’t change any numbers on your receipt, haha!» Hahah-wait, that’s not funny. *pause* I opted for a slice of sausage pizza. Bland crust, mediocre sauce, and an alarming lack of cheese added up to a less than stellar pizza experience. On an earlier occasion, I had tried their«triple baked pie,» supposedly their specialty, but it was the same sad ingredients layered differently in the pizza pan and cooked more. Other than the strange… joke(?) about not stealing money from me, the counter staff is generally very nice Definitely don’t plan on coming back.

Fantastic pizza! We had a bbq chicken and a deluxe this afternoon, and both were great, as was the garlic cheese bread. They have an impressive list of beer, wine & soda, and we all found something to enjoy. The staff was friendly not overbearing, and the restaurant itself was clean and bright. The pizzas took a while to make, but it was obvious they were using super fresh ingredients and cared about making quality food. That being said, their prices are too high. Yes, the small pizzas were great, but are they worth $ 18 – 20? Not really. I’m sure we’ll be back, but the prices will probably keep us from becoming regulars.

I definitely second what Sharon said, with the exception of the fact I haven’t been to their actual location yet, but only tried it due to the fact their pizza is sold at Lakefront Brewery. I enjoyed the fact that the slices they sold at Lakefront were just $ 2, and were big in size, a la Bacci Pizza in Chicago. Though I didn’t like their sausage pizza as much, I’d still be open to giving them another shot, the next time I get around to having their pizza. And regardless if next time is at their actual location, or having their pizza at Lakefront Brewery.

Clever marketing on the part of Meglio’s because of a free pint promotion they have with the Lakefront Brewery. Inside the brewery, slices of thin crust pizza could be purchased for two dollars a piece, which was just ok, no special bells and whistles, but the restaurant itself had a wider variety of entrees. The thin crust triple baked pie was pretty good, but I felt that it was a bit on the expensive side for the amount of food you get. Also, the atmosphere is set up more like a fast food restaurant, with a counter where you place your order and pick up food when it’s ready.
