Id give the food 4 stars because everything but the brisket was very good, the brisket was sub par but still edible. We really enjoyed the Mac n cheese. The wait staff was adequate. The food took more than 45min to arrive, good thing the drinks were ½ off until 7(they were the star of the show, try the stallis gentleman). All in all, good new restaurant with some fine tuning here and there. Hope it’s still here in the future.

The Cajun mushroom soup — oh my! Delicious! Attentive staff and new enough that a family would be comfortable dining in on a Sunday. I love this place so far abs can’t wait to go back!

Well, where shall I start… Jack Rabbit Slims, a nice addition to some of the new up and coming businesses in West Allis located where multiple attempts for a successful bar/restaurant has failed. Always wondered if it was just the location or if it was poor execution of operations. The newly remodeled bar is very nice and sets the pace for a enjoyable atmosphere, the food menu offers some fun and intriguing items. We order multiple items from the menu and all of them were very enjoyable and somewhat reasonably priced. However, the service offered was very poor and definitely not welcoming. There were 4 bartenders on duty and maybe 50 to 60 patrons in the bar, almost seemed to be a little over staffed but yet it took almost 15 minutes to get the attention of 1. Beside the initial wait for service being extended, we all had to wait a minimum of 15 minutes for drinks during the duration of time spent there. Definitely hope they can rectify this poor service soon, wouldn’t want to see another business fail at this location.

Absolutely Horrible the service was inattentive and did not even ask how are food was they almost seemed to avoid us all together and as for the food Do Not I repeat Do Not eat the Brisket Sandwich it was dry with no flavor I have never seen Brisket with that type of coloring it was confusing they gave us a choice of sauces I think just to mask the flavor a very anticipated disappointment.

Great place to take a date or the family. The wait staff is on point with the touch screens to take your order. I was a Huge fan of Puddle Jumpers and Lisa Keefer, head chief, master at smoking meats(and a great friend of mine!!) Try the smoked brisket chilli! Spicy and delicious(with some sour cream and cheese… very yummy) The Texas Twinkies are fantastic also! I had the large Mac n Cheese with smoked brisket and I had everyone at my table wanting to try it. Bring your appetites! Is my best advice!($ 5 shake is worth $ 5!

Jack Rabbit Slims is a new restaurant in West Allis serving barbecue and other American food. The name comes after a diner in the movie Pulp Fiction, though there is very little resemblance, if any. The aesthetics are pleasant with what you would expect at a modern barbecue restaurant. Lots of wood and attempts at a rustic old-timey look. Watch out for the booth corners though, they ripped my jeans wide open on the way out. Also, be warned the water in the bathroom is super hot. The service was incredibly slow for how dead it was, the food took a very long time. The server was very friendly, however, he asked lots of questions with every item we ordered, even when the menu spelled out exactly what the meal came with. Example: my wife ordered a salad that came with a specific dressing and she was asked what dressing she wanted. Not the worst thing that could happen, but when every order comes with two or three redundant questions, it can take a lot longer to order than it needs to. The drinks were good, we all ordered beer. They have a few good craft beers to choose from, however I would have expected more options. The food was the biggest disappointment. The menu highlights The Fatboy, a 1 lb 3 meat sandwich that sounded amazing, so of course I ordered that. It was a huge downer to find the meat without any sauce, the bottom bread soaking wet and the meat approaching room temperature. We had to ask for barbecue sauce, which came out cold, cooling down the food even more. The brisket plater and the crab cake salad are winners, along with the fries and sweet potato waffle fries. The fried pickles were pretty good, but thin, and the Texas Twinkies were certainly interesting enough to try. I would avoid sandwiches and the smashed potatoes based on our experience. My friend ordered the Ruben, which he very plainly said was terrible. You know that guy from the old commercial, «Mikey likes it»? That’s my friend. He never complains and likes pretty much anything. Well, not this. The meat was tough and the bun was soggy. The same could be said for my other friend’s pulled pork sandwich. I don’t think we will be back here any time soon, I would recommend Maxie’s or Silver Spur if you are looking for good barbecue in the area.
