Sushi is tiny and low grade. All you can eat, but they try to fill you up on the rice. The rest of the buffet is nothing special, modt of yhe food is cold and replacement does not come put frequently. Thumbs fown.

Place went so downhill, my order was wrong. Couldn’t ever get drinks refilled. Waited for my RIGHT order to come for about 15 minutes AFTER i told her my order was wrong. The hot food is cold and old. The crab legs that you pay extra for literally are the worst i’ve ever had. ANDTHAT’S IFYOUEVENGETANY. They are super salty! Been going here since it opened and boy did it go downhill. Came back years later after living in Arizona, realized it went so downhill. I will never return. Waitresses for the most part are super rude and don’t apologize for screwing up your order that you wait forever for. Used to be so good. Now I’m scared if i go back i’ll get sick.

Good choices and great price. They could step up the service a bit. Waitress never came and brought water. Also never refilled soda until asked. Sushi took a long time and it was not busy. Overall good sushi

Got the dragon roll as I do every sushi place because I love them. Was going to order a second but my cousin told me I’m too fat(obviously joking) and we’re watching our portions together. Next time I will have to try the buffet but probably will still just get the dragon roll. Service was very good and the food came out quicker than I had expected, though it is rather slow at 8:30 pm. Definitely coming back!

Great good food I ordered the Godzilla roll it was amazing but you need to unhinge your jaw to eat it. My cousin ordered the dragon roll and he ate it faster than I could believe. Would definitely come back. They also have a nice buffet but I choose to order my sushi individually. Nice place spacious and neat atmosphere not campy like other places that offer sushi.

Delicious and well worth the evening prices. We stick with sashimi and nigiri to get the best fish possible. Checking in for the 10% discount makes it even better! Great value makes us regulars here.

To start you out with a good indicator of my experience at Fushinami, I forced myself into a Denny’s the day before out of necessity and had a better experience than I did at Fushinami. Surprisingly I left Denny’s with superior service and food, unfortunately I can’t say the same for this sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is a little dark however, it was spotless and had easy parking. However, the promising surroundings set me up for disappointment. When me and my mother walked in, we were seated immediately, but then waited about 10 – 15 minutes to be asked for our drinks. Annoying, but easily forgivable given it was lunchtime. Our drinks came and we ordered three rolls for which we waited thirty minutes,(which I think is awhile for sushi, especially when we didn’t order any fried rolls). I felt like they want you to fill up on their included ACYE buffet. We were relieved when our rolls arrived, having waited for awhile we were anxious to see what this relatively well-reviewed sushi joint had to offer us. Sadly our rolls were mediocre at best. They were rather bland and fell apart easily. There was very little meat and a ton of lettuce/cabbage, honestly they tasted more like vegetable rolls. We found ourselves at the end of the meal bargaining over who would eat the last rolls to avoid their charge for excessive waste.(Leaving 5 or more pieces). Among other shortcomings my mother asked for a soy sauce tray for which she waited 15 minutes, and a refill on her hot tea which never arrived. Overall, the atmosphere and the server’s personality saved Fushinami from a one star review. While she was really slow and not too attentive, she was very nice. Our rolls were not good at all, the buffet did offer fresh fruit, spring rolls, and desserts that were good. This is my first Unilocal review and I do not like to be so negative as I’m a rather positive person, but I would be hard pressed to find many things in my experience that would merit a return visit.

Not as good as i thought it was going to be. Service took way too long and it wasnt busy what so ever. Food was ok, sushi wasnt that well. Everytime i ordered more sushi the waitress –when i was in mid sentence– left and i had to get her attention for me to continue. And when we asked for the check we waited 20 minutes. My girlfriend went to the bathroom while waiting and our waitress was cleaning in the women’s room. My girlfriend told her we were waiting for her… I will not be going back. :/

Kind of disappointed in our visit to Fushinami. Our family LOVES sushi and since we were house-hunting in the area we jumped at the chance to try a new place in our future new home of Milwaukee. As others have stated it is is a great price for AYCE and the buffet had a big variety of asian dishes to choose from. They did have oysters and clams which was impressive although we stayed away from the bar so we could eat more sushi. The atmosphere is eclectic and furnished in dark woods and was very clean. If you check in on Unilocal you get 10% off which is cool. We were greeted right away and the the server was very good about making suggestions which was all great… until it wasn’t. We placed our first order and it came right away. The rolls were cut uneven and kept falling apart. We tried the Santa and the Philly and both were lacking flavor, I know to expect a little lower of quality when doing AYCE but this really didn’t have flavor at all. When our server came back for our second round we ordered other rolls hoping the next round would have more taste. My hubby asked for cream cheese to be added to the roll and the server said no problem. When we got the bill we saw that she charged us for the cream cheese. Now it wasn’t a lot of money but if it is AYCE and cream cheese is in your other rolls why would you charge us for it? It took a LONG time to get the second round. We didn’t order anything complicated and it wasn’t crowded, so not sure what the hold up was. The second round tasted like the first round. We weren’t going to order any more rolls but our server brought us the bill without asking us if we wanted anymore. That really irritated me especially because we only had 6 rolls between the 3 of us. I really do not like to give low stars and I try to overlook small things but the family was pretty underwhelmed. Not sure if I would come back, as there seem to be a lot of other places to try in Milwaukee. I did like the atmosphere and the location. Our server and food left us with a 2 star experience.

Since this place opened a few years back, I’ve been a loving and loyal customer! I’m a huge sushi fan and am always looking for the best places in Milwaukee to get my sushi fix. I generally don’t go after too much on the hot buffet, but when I do, there’s nothing to complain about. But, it’s the sushi I’m truly there for! I’ve tried a multitude of maki rolls and nigiri, all of which have been fantastic. I love anything spicy, so I almost always go for a Godzilla roll, which is filled with spicy salmon, and the volcano roll, which features of variety of fishes. Each item is made to order, so you know it’s going to be fresh when you receive it. The rolls themselves are smaller than typical rolls you would see, which is fantastic because you can order a good variety and not worry about getting overly full on one item. The service is always give or take. The sushi chefs are always spot on and never take too long to make your order. There have been times when the place was packed and it took all of about 15 minutes to make my meal. There have been a few not so good servers. I usually go on my lunch break, and while I’m not that kind of customer to get impatient with a server because they take an extra 30 seconds to do something, I have waited over 10 minutes for my check on numerous occasions. All in all, definitely a place I will come to a lot!

I’m going to skip over reviewing the buffet selection. There wasn’t anything worth mentioning and everything tasted pedestrian. What did make the lunch worth it was the sushi. The sushi rolls had to be ordered off a menu and it was still all you can eat. This wasn’t «worth the money good», they were actually very good. Godzilla Roll(back) & Dynamite Roll: We were skeptic on how good buffet sushi would be. We hoped it didn’t taste«cheap». Let’s just say we had one more each of these when all was said and done. Philly Roll(back) & Spicy Santa Roll(front): I was also very pleased with these rolls. You know we had to end it with a Sake Bomb.

Great price for all-you-can-eat sushi. All rolls Alien tried were yummy(Fantastic Rolls, Sakura Garden Rolls, Spicy Santa Rolls, Spider Rolls, and Outstanding Rolls). Nigiri was okay. You can eat better ones in Milwaukee if you pay more. Buffet foods were not the best but good enough for the price. They have fresh oysters during dinner time, and the oysters were good.

Filling and relatively inexpensive(under $ 15 for AYCE sushi and Asian lunch buffet), Fushinami is pleasant –dark furniture, light floors/walls, low lighting. However, this is not first grade sushi and aficionados will likely be disappointed. I was led past the buffet on the way to my table and noticed there was no sushi on the buffet. My server quickly explained that rolls and nigiri are made to order, while other dishes(a mix of Chinese, Japanese, and American hybrids) was kept warm and waiting. I ordered nigiri and made my way to the buffet. Besides the usual miso soup and edamame, I found, among other offerings. chicken teriyaki, hibachi vegetables with noodles, pork and mushrooms, and crawfish. I tried small portions of a number of things, as per my usual buffet approach. Quality was on par with some of the larger Chinese buffets in town — that is, plentiful, but mainly overbooked. I was surprised to find the edamame unsalted and cold. A few dishes that should have been hot were also cold, an issue I brought up with my server. That was mostly resolved, but another piece of teriyaki chicken found it to still be cold. I asked for a dish of salt for my edamame(is salted edamame an American thing? I’ve never had it presented unsalted before), passed on a couple of items after a bite or two, and moved onto the nigiri. Nigiri were small, not unexpected for an AYCE restaurant, but were also of lesser quality than I’m used to. Slices of fish were thin, the mackerel looked a little dry but had a pleasant flavor. Scallop(one if my favorites) was bay, rather than sea, scallops, served in a little nori«cup.» Service was a little rough, when pouring my nigori sake into a carafe, the server wasn’t aware the it should be shaken first. Another server caught it and it was served properly. I found myself looking for my server a number of times, though, and toward the end of the meal, before I’d finished my wine, my server decided it was time for me to be done and offered nothing more than my check after that. Overall, my experience wasn’t unpleasant, but I’m not sure I’ll be back. For about the same price, I can order outstanding sushi at one of a number of other sushi bars, and enjoy every bite.

It’s an all you can eat sushi place, so that already says a lot. But hey, I love my cheap sushi! It’s tasty, it fills you up and you can try so much stuff! I personally suggest trying their special rolls, there is some very interesting combinations over there. I usually skip the buffet, since I want to get the best bang for my buck, but it’d actually worthwhile to try some of their stuff. The hibachi noodles are really good and so I’d the sesame chicken. All in all pretty great sushi place!

Best bang for your buck! AYCE sushi with a buffet appetizer(basically). The speciality sushi is pretty good! The menu is pretty simple & not overwhelming with a ton of crazy sushi options. You’ll definitely not go home hungry!

I love /hate this place at the same time. I love how great their food is, but i hate how fat I feel after stuffing myself. Regardless, Fushimi has always been my go to Treat-yo-self spot. It’s price is reasonable, and the amount of food I put in myself more than covers the cost. Point is, I always arrive with anticipation, and I always leave with satisfaction! Here’s a tip, don’t eat any breakfast and just head straight here for brunch. I guarantee the unlimited sushi will keep you coming back for more.

In this area they have what could be a great deal if you go for the all you can eat meal. Just be warned that it can bla if you had higher expectations. The server seemed to be quick and attentive. The Unilocal check in will save you 10% over all its a basic buffet with a choice of all you can eat as long as its from the list from the two sections. I prefer the buffet in Menomonee falls as they have a pretty good selection of both hot and cold items. The sushi on buffet are 1⁄3 smaller in size. With a busy lunch crowd that means the food doesn’t sit out too long. The staff are constantly replenishing the selections. Other Unilocalers suggested not to dive into the buffet line and overload, good advice. I certainly will give this place good marks for cleanliness and decorations. Sushi has to be one of my favorite foods! I am originally from chicago and I have tried a LOT of different sushi restaurants. Fushimi has to be the BEST one I’ve had so far. Typically I only come for their lunch buffet special and always end up overeating. Their buffet has a great selection. The lo mein and fried rice are amazing. But even better is the sushi itself. I’ve had all of the maki creations and the Santa roll is by far my favorite. I don’t think I’ve had sushi better than this restaurant. Only downside is that they get very busy and the servers can become inattentive of their tables.

I struggled with this review. I wanted to fall in love with this place but alas, I couldn’t bring myself to. The boyfriend and I came here after watching a movie at The Oriental. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated by the welcoming staff. Judging by the interior, what’s not to love? Clean, sleek, and the furniture(the bar, the buffet, and some of the light fixtures) emanated a pretty blue glow. Our server was lovely. The overall staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, it’s the food that prevented me from loving this place. We ordered the«Sushi for Two,» and we weren’t impressed. Every fish should have its own discernible taste and texture. Excluding the shrimp, all the sushi kind of tasted the same. The California Roll was okay. I liked the Shrimp Tempura Roll a little more, but I felt there was too much filler(rice, tempura, cucumbers) and not enough shrimp. By the end of the meal, I was full but I wasn’t satisfied. Like I said before, the employees were nice but the food wasn’t enough for me to want to come back. Since there are better sushi options in Milwaukee, I’m going to have to say farewell to Fushimi.

Came here on news years eve with a couple friends for the lunch buffet. Since it was a «holiday» we were told that they were only serving the full dinner buffet for the dinner price. While annoying, it wasn’t a deal breaker and should’ve been expected I guess. Atmosphere is much nicer than I expected. The hot bar has some pretty delicious picks — the lobster/shrimp/squid dishes in particular. The seaweed salad was still partially frozen but it was yummy once defrosted. Don’t fill up here though! Sashimi quality is what you would expect from a sushi buffet– not great. The pieces were very small too. Stick with salmon and the fatty tuna in my opinion. The best deal here are the specialty rolls. We tried five kinds and they were all very delicious. If you come here for lunch I think it is really an amazing value for the quality of specialty rolls you get. Dessert left a lot to be desired but hopefully everyone knows asian cuisines are not known for desserts anyway. Enjoy all the seafood you can here!
