I stopped in this store with a friend of mine that was looking for a dress. As soon as I figured out that this was a store that sold primarily reasonably higher fasion and certainly high quality women’s apparel, I thought that there would not be much that would fit her as she is a bit larger than size 2, but I was wrong. There are a lot of options there for plus sized women, and the nice lady behind the counter explained that any of the garments on the racks can be ordered in any size not on the shelf reasonably quickly. My friend got a really nice dress that not only looked great but also fit her wonderfully. She got the dress at a pretty good price too. Sure, it was on a good sale, but I would have expected her to pay more for a high quality designer garment. I would shop here again for sure, though I would have to shop for someone else as they don’t carry men’s clothing.

Six months later… Two visits to B.L. this summer and find a shift in ‘tude. Two sales staff behind desk; I engaged primarily with one, but the other(younger, know-it-all) kept interjecting her opinion. Felt she disrespected her senior co-worker and frankly, her advice was as narrow as her young life. Rule # 1: do not correct or instruct your customer. As this is one of very few designer shops in MIlwaukee offering extended sizes, I tried again yesterday. I like to look through clothing yet maybe not in mood to try on, but felt the not-so-subtle salesperson push after 5 minutes to do so. Rule #2: you are a high-end shop, act like it. You are ‘pushing’ this customer out the door.

Where do I start?! This store is an absolute ray of sunshine. I actually get excited to look at clothes and try things on at Boutique Larrieux — something I can’t say for any other store with extended sizes. The store is bright, happy and full of gorgeous, beautifully crafted pieces that would make any girl swoon. Lydia(the fabulous owner) is always there, ready to help you find something that makes you look — and feel — as amazing as you should. Stop in and check it out — you will not be disappointed!(And join the Larrieux crew… every month you get 20% off an item — as if I needed another reason to pop in!) THANKYOU for being here, Lydia. You and your store are a delight.

They say work what your momma gave you, well, I’m working what being a new momma has given me: some extra curves. So I finally stopped by this well-located boutique in the Third Ward, and man, was I impressed with the selection. The store’s definite strength is dresses, of which they have plenty of gorgeous styles in a range of sizes for real women. I walked out with a gorgeous black strappy dress that was a decent price, especially for how wearable and flattering it is. They also have some great tops and what looked to be some solid pant options. Some items are on the pricey side, but everything is so high quality, that you’d certainly get a lot of wear out of each item. I was impressed with the name brands the store carries, didn’t realize some of these lines/designers made plus size clothing! So glad to see there’s such a fashionable place for women of all sizes. And there’s great jewelry for women of any size. The staff were super friendly and the dressing rooms were nice and roomy. Highly recommended.

BRAVO! This place is so overdue for Milwaukee… wait for the midwest! There are women with curves all over the place, and clothing options limited to the Avenue and LB just WON’T do! *sigh, this is a brilliant concept. The clothes are fresh, fun, fierce and fly– yep, it’s what is needed on the MKE scene. And although its a boutique, there are options for people who aren’t rich. Not to mention the owner seemed to really like her job! She’s helpful and has good fashion sense and on top of that, she is friendly. If you’re size 12 and up, and under age 50 I think you’ll love this place. They have dresses, jackets, denim, and rumor has it– shoes are next!
