Dont really like this place this much. coworkers always tell me to pick up food from here for dinner bc they have a wednesday chicken curry special. We always get the lunch box special(which are around 6.50 or 7.50 depending on which item you pick) which lasts all day and comes with rice and veggies. The chicken curry is alright, if youre really hungry, but nothing too great. The smoke chicken is okay, but i think the grilled chicken in the best. I heard from my coworkers that they make the drinks there really bad, so i dont recommend that. But i DO like their service. They’re really nice(even though they dont really know too much English), and theyre always fast with their food. They’re pretty clean too, and they let me sit at the tables as i wait. It’s more of a café than anything, or a place where you can just pick up and go. They have taiwanese snacks that you can buy. I heard that before, it used to be super taiwanese, but i think they recently changed owners, so now they’re vietnamese and they sell different kinds of banh mi(sort of like lees sandwiches)

Service here is OK for the price. Once I see the cook use the hand to pickup raw chicken and then use his hands to work on cooked foods in my lunch box. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone get sick eating food here. Also, some times, the boba drink here is way toooo sweet. I don’t think the food are prepared with any care.

This place reminds me of Taiwan. Generous portions, greasy food, and a free drink with each meal if you do their 10 meal pre-purchase card, can’t beat that deal. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or don’t exercise, consider staying away; otherwise, enjoy life and eat here once in a while.

The food is ok, but the customer service is not. Most of the cashiers there are just rude and they don’t even hand your change back to you, like a good cashier should. They would just put it on the counter and expect you to get it. Price is ok for its size, but it has gotten a little more expensive lately. There is a minimum credit card charge for this location, but not the one in Cupertino. When I am here, i always order the fried pork chop bento box

This is a good place to grab Taiwanese Bento Box I always come here for quick lunch to-go, their bento is $ 6.50(I believe it’s cheaper when you purchase a bento card) Deep Fried Pork Chop is definitely my favorite! It comes with a big piece of meat, side dishes(a hard boiled egg, some veggies, pickles, minced meat and tofu) I tried the popcorn chicken(chicken bites) before but it was so so & oily. That’s why I stick with the fried pork chop. Service is bleh — DON’T expect anything. The lady who works there is always mean and rude. I never seen her smile and she just look like shes so fed up with her job. But since I go there for cheap & fast to-go bento, I don’t care much abt her. tips: the saratoga location is definitely better than this one!

A few things to know about this. This is your typical taiwanese fast food style bentos. You can get a bento card, which gives you free boba/green bean soup, and a free additional meal for every ten you order. They also sell braised meats, and other side dishes for you to take home and cook yourself. A typical bento consists of: one entrée selection, a vegetable(usually bok choy), tea egg, fried tofu, rice, braised grounded meat, and chinese mustard. For the PRICE and SPEED, this is a great deal. TASTE is nothing spectacular, and not for those who don’t like oily taiwanese food. Not much SEATING, and like most people say, the cashier is not someone that you’d be getting McDonald smiles from. However, I believe that makes it more of the authentic chinese hole in the wall experience ;). It even comes with yelling the orders to the cook. How much more authentic can you get? Interesting TRIVIA: they used to serve free red bean soup, but probably it’s seasonal. Look out for it when the weather gets cold!

I went there for buy some lunch box first time with my coworker’s suggestion. When we go there, the cashier lady’s face looks not very happy. She looks like in bad mood and didn’t say hi or welcome to us. I order their Shang Hai short rib speical box. It’s ok. maybe little below average. I have experienced better in some place.

I have had their bento cards(buy 10, get 1 free) forever, since they sold them at $ 50… now it’s $ 65 each. good thing I still have 1 extra left. – I like their fried pork chop bento, the pork is so thin and finely fried… yum. – the grilled chicken is tasty as well, so is the beef shank… – they give you either FREE pearl milk tea or red bean soup too! =) how can you beat this deal?!

its ok… they have a set meal plan with a stamp card. you pay upfront then each time you order food they stamp it off i got it initially when i worked closer to the warm springs location. i think their food is better. but this is where i have to come when i do crave something taiwanese and fast. there is a restaurant that opened callted taiwanse pork noodle or something like that… its better but a lil pricier…

If you’re looking for a really fast belly stuffer lunch, this is the place to go. It’s not really about quality food here but they are very fast at making the food if you’re in a hurry. I ordered a Salty Duck Bento Box, which was about $ 6.50. Most of the duck was fat so it was a bit troublesome especially for more health-conscious people like me who only ended up with scraps of meat after the huge chunks of fat and skin were pealed away. The tofu was really wet and dripped for some reason, which was weird because it looked dry before you picked at it. Everything but the rice in the bento box was cold. They didn’t even bother to heat up the duck. They took it straight from the fridge, chopped it up, and threw the dish together. For the value, it was worth it. You get duck, lots of rice, veggies, egg, and tofu all jammed together in 2 – 3 minutes. For the quality… not so much.

there was no patrons here when i bought my sliced beef tendon(4.25) in the evening. not surprising since they aren’t compettive with their $ 6. chow mein. their taiwanese side dishes may be a bit pricey. the tendon was machine sliced and wasn’t noteworthy except as a spicy companion to pinot noir.

My co-worker brought me here because McCarthy/Ranch is only 3 minutes away from our work, and he guaranteed me this place was quick. As advertised, we were in and out within five minutes(I literally had 10 minutes for lunch total, including travel time). Overall really 2.5 stars. I got the grilled chicken and pork chop combo which came with rice, veggies, tofu, and a hard boiled egg. Everything was pretty tasty except for the pork chop which was literally inedible(I’m really not that picky, I am Chinese after all). I took two bites of the foul-tasting chop and threw it out. With so many other great places to eat in that plaza, I cannot justify coming back in the near future.

This used to be Champion Foods, not sure why they reverted to having only one location(Cupertino Village). There are I believe four locations of Won Stew House. While I’ve only been to one other location, which is off 280/Saratoga, I can’t believe how different the quality is between that one and this one in Milpitas. The food offered at the Milpitas location is absolutely crap! The marinated snacks(lu wei) are so different I could not believe. The kelp had this overly marinated strong vinegar taste and tasted fishy(this was the help yourself version via the sliding door refrigerator on the left). The 280/Saratoga location lu wei was made/prepped from the kitchen, what a difference. Even the deli stuff to go was horrendous. The marinated beef tendon and pork hock that were quite delicious at the 280/Saratoga location were the complete opposite in Milpitas. Ditto with the bento boxes. I was so mad at Ay Chung for not opening in the afternoon(only lunch and dinner hours) that I had to eat this shit. What a way to quickly go out of business… don’t waste your coin here. For better lu wei and Taiwanese snack fare head to Ay Chung for more authentic fare where they don’t eff it up and want to stay in business.

I’m not Taiwanese, so I don’t know for sure if it’s really authentic, but it seems to be as far as I can tell! It’s not fancy or high class, but it’s a clean *very clean* little café with Taiwanese/Japanese style bento featuring various entrees. I suggest the stewed pork, which is their specialty. I also like the grilled chicken. The pork chop is popular as well, but some may find it to be too greasy. Included with your chosen meat item is a healthy portion of rice, a hard boiled egg, a large slice of dried tofu, and a selection of green vegetables. They also have boba milk tea and green bean soup to complement your meal for only one dollar! If you are a frequent customer, they have a sort of debit card which you can purchase. Basically, the bentos will run you six bucks a pop, but if you pay a whole sixty bones up front, you will get the eleventh meal on the house. I would say that I have patronized WSH maybe about twenty times now without ever getting the card, and in hindsight, it would definitely have come in handy.
