This place has become so americanized lately, it’s hard to believe that they are still part of a Hong Kong chain. They used to make a really nice black forest cake. But they don’t anymore. Now they make something called«chocolate cake» which does not taste anything like the authentic black forest cake. The baked curry tart has also transformed drastically. It’s not the Hong Kong style anymore, it now contains weird mixed vegetables with visible corn bits in its filling.

Very disappointed, limited selection of pastries somewhat overpriced I wouldn’t come back here again. However, they do have a large selection of prepackaged assorted cookies and breads along with gift wrapped presents.

Amazing Vanilla Fruit Cake. Delicious. Had two of them and picked one around evening 5 pm. Limited options but they will make one if advanced order is made with them. Would recommend to get cake for birthdays and others.

The tiramisu was super scrumptious. Ordered a bunch of other stuff for my co-workers, and they weren’t as impressed with what they ate… I guess that the tiramisu doesn’t cost a little more for no reason! Maybe next time I’ll just get a bunch of those. The staff here was great. They were eager to help me and really nice. I’ll be back for sure.

I’ve always been a fan of Sheng Kee, but it wasn’t until I tried a friend’s birthday cake that I was completely sold on switching over to Kee Wah. Their mango green tea cake is my most favorite cake right now. It only comes in one size, 8″(unlike SK which has all different sizes including sheet cakes, if you order ahead). It’s jam packed filled with mangos on the top. There’s mango square chunks, mango slices cut like chocolate, and strawberries. The mango square chunks add a nice crunch to the texture of the soft green tea cake and mango mousse. It is surprisingly not heavy, and is all sorts of delicious. At this location, you’ll have to fight for a spot if you come during grubbing hours, and they only make TWO of the mango green tea cakes a day. So if that cake is what you’re after, it’ll be in your best interest to order ahead.

I have been going to this bakery for about 20 years now and it is as good now as the day I first went. They are even better now that they are open earlier! 8AM vs 11AM. My personal favorites: 1. The Egg Tart — I like flaky crusts on my egg-tart so this is why I like theirs. It’s not as good as Golden Gate Bakery in SF but who has the time to drive up to SF just for an egg-tart? 2. The pillow bread. I usually get a loaf and have a piece for breakfast for the week. It’s of course best fresh but even by the 4th day, it’s not too bad. Just keep the bag sealed. 3. Sponge cakes are light and fluffy. 4. Wife cakes are chewy and not too sweet. Bonus points: The ladies who work there have been there for 10+ years. They are super nice and friendly and efficient. The place is always clean and smells great of fresh baked goods.

Got a pretty chocolate cake here to bring over a friend’s house for Christmas dinner and it was quite yummy. The cake was not too sweet and everyone enjoyed it. The price wasn’t that bad either, and it fed everyone. Great place to get your bakery as they have a variety of items to choose from. Parking can be a tight situation as there are tons of people that visit this shopping plaza.

Plus: + fruit cake and fruit pastry + cappuccino dessert cup + coffee/chocolate slice or full roll cake + everything smells and tastes so fresh here Minus: — they used to serve veggie options in light snack bites which they seemed to have stopped now. Only a minor complaint because I am a vegetarian. — the cream portion in the coffee/chocolate slice is a bit heavy/thick and can be reduced to get more coffee/chocolate flavor while eating. The price of this slice/roll is slightly high. Will I go back? + YES. It’s a good place to pick up personal size dessert or for birthday/occasion cakes!

Cocounut cream bun here is sooo good and soft and fluffy with the filling not too sweet but very creamy and light !!! The egg tart(dan tat) is one of the best around also, or at least definitely better than 85C. The tart part is less dense, and the crust is very flaky and loose and delicious . I also had a BBQ pork bun but didn’t love it since it was more soggy on the inside than i expected and the meats were very soft and fatty. I just found the texture somewhat strange. Still a great go-to spot for the sweet bakery items.

Kee Wah Bakery used to be my favorite bakery shop to go to. When i wanted Hong KOng style bakery, I would think of Kee Wah Bakery first. But recenty it looks like the management changed. A lot of popular items have disappeared off the shelf. Also there are very few items displayed to choose from. I do hope Wong’s family can look into this matter and do something, so we can continue enjoying Kee Wah Bakery products.

This is probably one of my favorite bakeries in the Bay! As soon as you walk in, the aroma makes you feel that everything that you see, has been freshly baked minutes before you arrived! My favorite pastries are the following: *Pineapple Bun *Chocolate Croisant *Egg Tart *Coconut Bun *Hotdog Bun I’ve purchased all of these pastries at least a dozen times or so, and each and every time they have been perfect! One would think that they would have a bad batch of pastries once in a blue moon, but NOT at this place! They pride themselves on bringing out pastries and cakes that are baked to perfection. All of the pastries sit in a case that you are able to access with a sliding top. You are provided with clean trays and tongs that are located a little to your left as you walk thru the doors. The cakes and specialty items behind the glass case are served or handed to you by the employees. Side note: You have to come before 1:00PM if you want to see their full line-up of pastries. Otherwise, a lot of the pastry cases will be empty. Conclusion: This is definitely a bakery to visit when you are in the Milpitas/McCarthy Ranch area!

My favorite bakery for their cakes! Every birthday or special occasion, I come to Kee Wah for their mixed fruit cake, mango cake, or fruit tart. The cakes are on the pricey side($ 20-$ 40 depending on size) but I think it’s worth it. I am not a big fan of cream or frosting on cakes and their cakes are just right. The cakes are also not too sweet and are moist. Aside from cakes, I also like their coconut bun, cocktail bun, pork sung bun, and the baked chicken pie.

I really love Kee Wah bakery, I have been a little fan since I was a kid(kudos to their shops in HK). This review may actually be a little biased because I worked for Kee Wah for a little bit as a student part timer back in my high school days(this is over 10 years ago– HAHA) but I really do love this bakery and their food. There are a lot of new cakes and a few new breads that I noticed. People say the prices are a little high and I agree only to the point that other Asian bakeries may not charge as much. This doesn’t mean they’re overcharging, just they are not what you expect from a typical Asian bakery. If you look at the cakes and breads at 85 degree bakery, it’s pretty much the same. I love their classic pineapple and hotdog buns. I really used to love their blueberry cheesecake but apparently they stopped serving that. I tried their Tiramisu today and I LOVED it. I have to say it was actually much more impressive than some served in Italian restaurants. I’d definitely be back for more. I used to really like their coconut pyramid but the one I got today was a bit too sweet. I also tried the other new product, the raspberry chocolate mousse cake but I’m not too terribly impressed. It was ok. I heard their green tea cheesecake is really good but they sold out by the time I got there today. I will have to go back on another day to try this again.

They have wedding packages that I found were very unique. Nicely designed tins and containers. 1) Fruit parfaits = whipped cream, fruit and short cake. Dry. 2) mango green tea cake = not bad. Mango could be sweeter to counter balance the green tea. Chunks of mango in the icing make it a lot better. Green tea cake is good as well. 3) tiramisu = not extremely cheesy or strong. Like that they use real marscapone cheese. Good cake to cream ratio, 50 – 50. Overall, like it! Would come back again.

Since the food here is quite expensive(compared to the other place I’ve been to), I rarely come here. For the few times I’ve been here, there selections were pretty good. Also, whenever my in-laws have a birthday coming up, the family would buy cake from here. This place is not my cup of tea but there’s not much choices in the Milpitas/San Jose area to choose from.

Was rushing to get me some cake during father’s day eve. Was about to go to another bakery, but decided to check this out first since looking at their pics, the mango cake looks delightful. However when I arrives there weren’t much to choose from. They do have a green tea cake and a couple of regular cakes which looks the same as the ones you can buy over the 99 Ranch bakery. I wanted mango. No mango around. Went to the other one. Though disappointed, I looked around for some pastry and got me some of their breads. I had something that with a crunchy sweet topping, a hotdog bun and a pork bun. Oh and those honey toasts… Of all the pastry, the honey toasts is quite. It is soft and fluffy yet filling. Not convinced of the hype I’ve read before. And its baked goods are pricey than the other store I went to.

This is an Asian bakery in the same complex as Wang’s and Ranch 99, and while the location is favorable, I think this bakery is meh. After trying 85 degree bakery, this comes off as a sub-par bakery. Still wouldn’t mind dropping by here for a sweet treat because it is closer than 85 degrees for me.

$ 23 for a 6 inch 3-layer mixed fruit cake. It’s actually kind of expensive compared to the true Chinese Bakeries. Eh, it’s Milpitas. What can you do?

Kee Wah has an excellent reputation of making fresh and delightful breads and sweets. We bought the usual fare, which includes red bean pineapple buns and hot dog cheese buns. My sweet little brother bought me a slice of honey chiffon green tea cake, and it is quite possibly, the best green tea cake in the world. It is a a cross between a sponge cake and a normal cake with a delicate crumb, but it is enhanced with this phenomenal infusion of honey and green tea flavors. I’ve made several green tea cakes at home, but nothing comes close to this. However, at $ 1.50 a slice, my inner Asian winces a bit. Been here a billion times, but why 4.5 stars? Here’s why… it’s a bit pricey. At least to me. I’m about to be a broke college freshman in 1.5 years and the fear of eating instant noodles for days is giving me nightmares. Plus I’ve been raised to buy things that are drop-dead cheap and of exceptional quality, so don’t let my definition of expensive scare you. (It’s actually quite affordable in comparison to the darned pathetic Starbucks coffee cake that’s no where as delicious as green tea honey chiffon cake.)

Doesnt look as nice as the cupertino location. $ 54 for a quarter sheet bday cake for 20ppl seems a bit much though. There were some black specks in the cake, im going to assume its vanilla bean specks or some burnt cake particles but it was a bit strange. The cake was good but not great, ive had a cake from cupertino branch before and it tasted a lot fresher.

I remember eating Kee Wah baked goods as a kid when my aunt and uncle and cousins came up north for visits. As it was back then, Kee Wah makes the best Chinese bread and baked goods — baked char Sui bow, hot dog buns… I still enjoy this place, especially now that it’s a lot closer in Milpitas than SoCal.

My parents still love this bakery so I find my stopping by this place from time to time to pick up goodies for them. In a world of 85C and Paris Baguette, this place still has the classic Asian pastries. They have backed pork buns, taro buns, red bean buns, cakes, sponge cake rolls and plenty of others. They also sell moon cake during the time of the season.

Decent priced bakery goods, array of flavors, whole cakes, sliced cakes, hot baked pastry items, cookies, etc. What more do you need from a bakery?! The store is a bit small so when/if it gets busy it is hard to roam around but overall a good bakery!

Kee Wah is a chain bakery, but don’t let that deter you! I first discovered Kee Wah’s Cupertino location, which is admittedly nicer than the Milpitas outpost. Still, the quality of the baked goods here is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. On my last visit, I picked up a crunchy red bean bun, a green tea and honey chiffon slice(in the fridge), a «crunchy pork puff»(which is just as good as it sounds), a chicken pie(which is like a chicken pot pie pocket) and a curry pork pie. Those five items only set me back $ 8.75. Aside from the freshly baked carbs that you put on a tray and present to the cashier, Kee Wah sells moon cakes, birthday cakes and Chinese wedding desserts.

My friend and I came in here after eating at Sizzling Stone because I wanted a dessert. First thing that hit me in the face when I opened the door was the strong smell of house cleaner. It was about 7pm and this place did not close for another hour, but they were already mopping and cleaning their store. There wasn’t much of a choice left for baked goods by the time we visited since it was so late. That’s understandable. Still, I expect that what was left should have still met the same standards as what was sold. We both purchased a red bean pastry and a green bean pastry. They were okay. Not great. The filling inside was too thick and my green bean paste looked a bit yellow, so I am not sure it it was even a green bean pastry. The pastries were displayed in small bags next to each other. However, there were no labels on the packaging, just the baskets that they were held in, so I am sure my pastry must’ve been a lotus seed pastry that was mistakenly placed in the green bean basket. I will need to come back in the future during the day so I can try something fresh and give a fair review. My current tip is not to visit during the end of the day.

Honestly don’t get the hype. I was super excited at coming here because I had been hearing about these amazing Coconut Cream Buns( ) for so long and they look amazing in the picture but in reality — meh, kind of boring. I bought some other pastries too which were also ”just alright” as they were on the dry side. I think my favorite of them all was one with a Hot dog Sausage in( ). The bread was really soft and fresh although would be much better warmed up if they had the option. I see people complaining of the prices and I actually thought they were fairly good. Baked goods are something that are quite pricey here in California but the 6 items I got came to something like $ 6.80( ). The set up is just like any other Asian Bakery — Grab a tray and go crazy then pay at the till when you’re done.
