I am writing this review on behalf of my kids, who LOVE going to Jiu-Jitsu 101 for class. My husband and I are firm believers in self-defense classes and have raised our children to be introduced in some form of martial arts. Our two older kids have been introduced to one or more forms from Kung Fu, Taekwondo, boxing, etc. Although they have enjoyed some of those classes, this particular school and form has fostered a different kind of interest, passion and enjoyment from our son. Now with our 3 younger kids(ranging from 10 — 6) who recently joined Jiu-Jitsu 101, they too enjoy training. «Enjoy» is not a strong enough word… they count the days until the next class and I am not exaggerating. I think what works for my kids and for me as well, is the environment and the teaching skills. We have been involved with other martial arts programs where the first 10 minutes of the class is about the success of the instructor and gold medals they acquire! Not my cup of tea. This school is about learning and having fun. The facility is very clean. The location is easy to get to, right off 680 and Landess. What is even more convenient are the nearby shops that let me do my food shopping and errands while they are in class! The other kids in class seem to be enjoying it as well. I look forward to seeing more kids join the program!
