Signed up for the adult classes to get started on my New Years resolution. The owner is young, but is a skilled black belt and has been training since he was a kid. The class is tailored for adults and goes through the basics of taekwondo– nothing fancy. It is a good introduction for taekwondo and is designed so that you actually go through all the belts, up to black. He has a warm and friendly teaching style and it is easy to understand. The pace is not too intense but it is enough to challenge you. I’m learning a lot about the art and will continue to take his class throughout the year. Will update on anything not so appealing about his school as they come up.

Barely going onto my 3rd week and I’m already having a blast! Master Chino Cruz is a professional at the sport of taekwondo who has a great passion for teaching the sport and you can see his passion through his teachings. The assistant instructors know what they are doing, as they are national champions and have a lot of experience at the sport. While we have a lot of fun, we also train very hard and every class works out a sweat! The main focus here is sparring and if you are looking to get far into Olympic-style taekwondo, this is the place to be. The training, as well as the motivation and support that you receive, will help you get far as they have produced hundreds of national and international champions. VERY family oriented. Highly recommend this place! Not for the faint of heart!

Manila Tae Kwon Do 2 or M2 has recently opened in Milpitas and classes are being taught by instructor Chino Cruz. I understand that he is a young instructor, but he has many years of experience in the sport of Tae Kwon Do. Currently, I think he is a 2nd degree Black Belt now and currently working on his 3rd degree. He has also received US National Gold Medal, accepted at US Tae Kwon Do Developmental High Performance Program Camp in Colorado and competed nationally and abroad to name a few. More importantly, instructor Chino Cruz is exceptional at working with young kids. I see that he is extremely patient with them and kids love him. I can tell that his program is structured at setting individual goals, developing kids’ self-confidence and discipline. I also notice that all his students are having fun and can’t seem to stop talking about their Tae Kwon Do classes! I really sense that he cares about his new school, his expertise in the sport and more importantly his students! In the few tournaments I have been, majority of his students have taken 1st or Gold medal at competitions! This is the place to take your kids to learn the sport, self-confidence, discipline, respect and humbleness. Way to go M2! As good as it gets!!!
