Good food. Great place to hang out. My son and I love their chicken curry rice. I have visited this restaurant for so many years. They are closing next week either Wednesday or Thursday because of unreasonable rent increase. I am gonna miss it :(

Went to this place relying on the reviews. Worst Asian food I’ve had recently. We had the Hainanese Chicken rice, Sauteed beef with egg sauce and Malaysian chow fun with sauce. Fail on all 3. Chicken rice — that must be a Filipino cooking there at the back because that chicken rice wast definitely fried garlic rice. Sauteed beef — Buy nido soup mix, drop pieces of beef, pour over rice, done! Malaysian chow fun — we finished off the soy sauce and the lat ju at the table to add flavor to that dish. I thought I was eating a Vietnamese spring roll w/o the sauce since that thing was so bland. I completely don’t understand the high ratings but more power to those reviewers, and I have no issue with the service. Unilocal failed us at this place.

Came here hungry for a late dinner and left very satisfied and happy! Had the salt and pepper fish, battered and deep fried but was not dripping with grease and the fish has a great flavor. Combination Singapore noodles with curry. Very good with lots if shrimp and pork. Asian greens(chinese broccoli I think?) in garlic. Who knew greens could be sooo good?! Less crowded than the other restaurant across the way but that was a good thing… Immediate seating! Lots of other things I would’ve loved to try but that’s for next time.

Good prices, lots of food, free cold-drink or hot drink. The quality and the selection of food is good too!

Location: In the smaller(much less prominent) plaza next to the massive Ranch 99 plaza in Milpitas, but this little hole-in-the-wall along with its neighbor Top Café are top notch places for food. Décor is humble and unpretentious. I personally have an impression that the more humble the surroundings for casual/homestyle Chinese food, the better the food! Parking can get a bit tricky for want of spaces, but no more so than in the Ranch plaza. Food: Pretty typical fast Chinese food — noodles, fried rice, and all the others you’d expect. Execution is generally pretty good, although at times I feel for some of the starch dishes there could be a better stuff-to-starch ratio. Vegetables in garlic are tasty and better value than vegetable dishes at other places. Portions are also quite generous, and you’ll encounter a bit of trouble finishing, say, an entire fried rice by yourself. A favorite of mine is the Singapore Style Rice Noodles, but this place is pretty consistently good. Service: The staff here are nice, down to earth, and will treat you like family. I’ve never actually sat down and had a meal here, but takeout orders are processed ridiculously quickly. Sometimes I feel as though I’ve just sat down when the waitress brings my order out to me(and I didn’t get to finish whatever NY Times article I just started reading!). Value: Considering the generous portion size, the dishes are great value for the area. Most dishes are $ 7 – 8, and will definitely fill you up. Overall: Supremely satisfying place for quick(important for takeout) to-go food. Friendly, fast, good value, and delicious. An easy candidate for go-to takeout. Better than 3.5 stars, and I’ll push it to a 4 based on service and value.

I was here on Sunday night looking for something to eat and decided to give this place a try. Pro: Good and friendly service, the food came out quick and hot. Con: Malaysian Chow Fun is not as flavorful as I hoped. It is just ok IMO. I’m hoping my next visit will have a better experience.

I have to say, this place this place has one of the best chow fun entrees I have ever had. It’s the Malaysian chow fun dish that’s dry yet spicy all at the same time. The best part about this place is that it is open late so whenever I have a craving I can just drive over pick some up because it’s open until 3am! They also have a large variety of other entrees and snacks to much on too after a long night of partying. I particularly like their chicken wings. The last time I got them they actually gave me he whole wing rather just the small drumstick(plus they come with fries too!). I would recommend takeout than sitting in to eat because they pretty much cook everything in a wok so it gets loud they have lots of orders. It’s also a very small restaurant. If you dine in they give you their soup of the day which is simple but if you order takeout… they still give you he soup to go! It’s a good place that’s worth a try despite its outside appearance and name.

Malaysian food, open late. A little too authentic for my taste, but some dishes weren’t bad. Spicy chow mein: Thin, short noodles with shrimp and chicken. My boyfriend liked it. Fried Rice: Not very fried with pieces of squid, chicken, and egg. I wish it had more soy or oyster sauce. Sweet and sour pork: Heavily breaded with pretty standard sweet sauce, hunks of pineapple, and red bell pepper. Chinese broccoli beef: I like that it wasn’t too salty and they added a kick of heat per request. Free soup! This reminded me of when I went to Hong Kong in 2001 and after ever meal, they give you soup. I liked how earthy it was with mushrooms, simmered greens, and carrots. Honey Walnut Prawns: Big pieces of fried shrimp with lots of mayo, sugar, and candied walnuts. I liked the flavor, but I wish I dined in for this because it wasn’t crispy anymore by the time I got home. That was my mistake. The girl that took my order on the phone was extremely patient considering the language barrier between us. Service was polite. Take out was an epic fail.

We came for a dinner after reading all the great comments and impressed by the rating, so we had kind of expectations. Unfortunately all the food was pre-cooked and arrived within 3 – 5 minutes of placing the order. The chicken noodle soup came later than the main course, cause I assume they waited on noodles to get cooked — and that was the only thing that was made to order! Soup was very bad, no taste, though the noodles tasted like paper. Actually the small bowls with veggie soup that they provided for free with our order was much better! As well as the complimentary tea — also tasted good. Service was really friendly, but unfortunately this kind of cooking will never make us return.

I came here on Friday night with a friend for dinner, and there wasn’t anything too delightful about it. The restaurant was pretty dead when we got there and it pretty much stayed that way until we left. I ordered the Singaporean style rice noodles and my friend ordered the baked sesame chicken over rice. We had a hard time determining what kind of meat was being used in the noodles. They did give a complimentary corn and carrot soup, which I did not expect. The baked chicken was not cooked all the way as I did notice some pink spots. The rice was super oily too! Other than that, the service was pretty good. They kept refilling our tea throughout the evening and they weren’t too upset about us staying there and chatting for an hour or so after we had finished our meal.

Chip, chip, cheap. Ordered: — Stir-fried beef chow fun $ 6.95 — Curry chicken over rice $ 5.95 — Black Sweet Rice Dessert Small $ 2.00/Large $ 6.00 Tina’s Tips and Tantrums — Great food combination deals such as $ 21.99 for three items — Cash only, but that’s a given — Decent authentic Chinese food — Located in the plaza next to McCarthy Ranch one, but the smaller of the two — When you eat in, the cute Asian lady gives you free iced chrysanthemum tea — Pictorial of entrees are displayed all over the windows, I like it — My rice with curry had a little spice, but just the way I love it. It had a little bit too much grease and fat though. — Black bean rice dessert was too sweet — Prices are ridiculously cheap for the proportions that are given — Friend enjoy this place a lot — And they open late!

The mall where this business is located is packed with really good restaurants that is open late! Family Delight is one of them. We’re doing the rounds and we wanted to try each one of them. Family Delight is clean, offers fast no nonsense service and makes this incredible Spicy Malaysian Chow Fun. I never had spicy chow fun before but I’m hooked! You can choose the level of spice you can handle. Best of all they carry disposable chopsticks! CASHONLY.

Cash only for this delightful family café. You can get three dishes for around $ 25 and for two people, this is more than enough to take home for a second meal. My favorites so far have been: 1. Salt and Pepper Pork — crunchy and salty. Yet, also sweet in some weird way. Must be the MSG. MMMMMSGood 2. Silky Egg with Beef 3. Malysian Chow Fun Good warm tea and soup with veggies to start off your meal. Plus, it’s not in the crazy plaza where Ranch99 is so you can find parking no problem.

We did the 3-item dinner for $ 18.99 including soup and rice. Our choices were: Scrambled Eggs with Chives and Prawns(3) — good eggs and prawns, not enough chives nor chive flavor and the entire dish could have used seasoning(sald) Salt & Pepper Pork Chop(3) — large portion, good pork; unfortunately too salty Chicken with Fried Garlic and Salted Egg Powder(2) — this dish was not as we expected it. While it had a salty taste, the Salted Egg was not really discernible. It was more like Crispy Chicken withsoft skin than anything. The soup was nothing special and arrived after two of our three dishes. The woman working the dining room was working hard taking care of all the tables by herself. Although she was practically running the entire time we were there, she always managed to keep a smile on her face. It might take some of the pressure off of her if the dishwasher came out and bussed some of the tables. We’ll give this place another try sometime to see how the Malaysian Chow Fun is.

In the Ulferts Center plaza on barber lane, you’ll find several late night restaurants. Pros: Prices: It’s the not most high quality food you’ll get but for the huge portions, the super low prices are worth it. They also have a special where you can select 3 items for about $ 20, which comes with soup and rice! The 3 item special is on a separate menu, which they usually give you. If not, just request for it. Late night: Rather than going to a fast food restaurant, this place is perfect for those in dire need of food. The restaurant opens pretty late so it’s a great food stop for those late night party animals or overworked individuals. Variety: There’s a wide selection of entrees to choose from. As you step right in, you’ll find the place plastered with food items. Service: The lady that works during the nights is really friendly. And she’s pretty good about refilling drinks and getting food out quick. Overall, Family Delight Café is a good place for cheap Chinese food, especially for late night cravings.

Service is whatever, but the food makes up for it BIGTIME. My dad works for Cisco and his building is literally right across the street, so I always look forward to eating here whenever I visit his work. I come here for two dishes specifically: #45 Indian Style Chicken Curry and #49 Beef Chow Fun. The chicken is fried and generously covered in curry sauce and the rice has some curry flavor as well. The flavoring on the beef is really good too! Generous portions especially for the prices. Also, during lunch the chrysathamum honey tea is free — I always get mine iced. Yum!

Came by for some late night eats. Ordered the house-special Hainan chicken and it was okay. The chicken was cold so they put the chicken in the microwave for a little bit before bringing it out. …the garlic rice was also cold, so they stir-fried the rice a little to warm it up… The Hainan chicken was $ 5.95 and came w/a complimentary soup. The Lemon Iced Tea was good, esp. at $ 1.50. …service was good.

This is one of those rare places where every dish is amazing and nothing can’t go wrong. The only thing that concerns me is how fast they bring out the food. It’s almost at fast food pace which makes you wonder what they do in the kitchen. If you’re new to this place, order anything that has tomato sauce on it. They can customize your order for you since I wanted tomato sauce on my fish fillet instead of just tomatoes and they did that. The service here is great and the prices are really good for each person. The only down side is that I didn’t like how they have pictures of all their dishes on the walls and the menus. It made choosing just one dish really really difficult :).

I’ve been here so many times and I haven’t written a review for this place? Unbelievable… This place was small and located in the small plaza next to the Ranch 99 plaza. There were pictures posted on the windows of a bunch of the menu items. I think the pictures were helpful and helped me decide a couple of times when I wanted to try something new here. I usually order #18 which was the Silky Egg and Beef over rice or something similar to that name for $ 6.25. The portion for that was enough for me and I ended up being full. It tasted good to me but that’s just me. My friend ordered #35 which was the Black Pepper Chicken and rice(also $ 6.25 I think). There were other things I’ve tried here but I can’t remember the numbers to them. One of them was the spaghetti and another was the Mao Po Tofu over rice. I don’t remember how to spell it but that was good. A lot of the plates were good to me so just try whatever sounds good to you but those are some of what I’ve tried. This is the place to go for inexpensive food(a good amount of it too). They are cash only, too.
