Really wanted to enjoy this place but like so many other Unilocalers said you get hella scammed. This is my third time here and at first I thought I was just over thinking. Second time I purposely calculated it and we were overcharged but since I was with friends I didn’t want to say anything and make a commotion. This marks the final time that I will be eating here. The people that run this joint will charge extra without warning and doesn’t return change. I ordered 5 dishes that were all 7.95 each and was charged $ 52. To make matters worse when my friend paid with three twentys and two dollars to avoid more change we were expecting to see that ten dollars change back. Never got it. No matter how good or how fast your cooks are you will never run a successful businesses by scamming your customers. I don’t care how good this place used to be because its definitely not what all the past Unilocalers are describing. I am not desperate enough to pay $ 62 dollars for some late night food that should have only cost $ 44 at most.

THEYALWAYSCHARGE $ 5EXTRA? The first time that we thought the total on our bill was more than expected, we thought that it might have been our mistake or something, so we didn’t make a big deal about it. The next time we came, my mom saw that the prices didn’t match up to the total on the bill. My mom remembered our last experience and got angry thinking about all the past times the lady might have charged us extra. My mom called out the lady who had calculated our total and made her redo our bill. Last night, we forgot to compare the menu prices to our bill before paying because we were distracted from a conversation we were having.(We also had not come back for awhile so we forgot about the incidents). Only when we got home did my mom realize the extra $ 5 that had been added. She told me that we are never going back again. ALWAYSCHECKYOURBILL!!! Unless you don’t care about being charged at least $ 5 extra!

I’ve been to this location several times now. And itms likely I’ll continue to return, but that doesn’t quite earn it a shining 5-star endorsement from me. Food and pricing is what earns this location a majority of it’s marks. Often times, when we go out to eat, that’s all We care about. During casual meals, or times you’re craving chinese food, not much else matters. But if you’re grabbing dinner with friends, in a large group, or just on a date night or something, you will more than likely encounter pretty poor service as this location. You REALLY need to advocate for yourself in order to get the things you want. Most notably water, something I’ve come to expect from a good dining experience. You will be given very small cups, and if you drink more then the average hummingbird, you will need that refilled four or five times before the meal is over(chinese food has a lot of sodium and I get thirsty!) In one of my last three visits, they did mistakenly provide us the incorrect dish. Not a big deal at most restaurants, you just ask the waiter to change it out. It actually turned into a little bit of an ordeal. At first with the waiter trying to show us that the dish he delivered it was in fact what we ordered. While we assured him that it was not(don’t typically order shrimp if you have someone in your party with an allergy to shellfish). And when we finally did get it switched out, the replacement dish didn’t deliver until the first dish had both gone cold, and then subsequently been eaten because we couldn’t wait anymore. That was just one experience, and it was not an experience that was repeated in my other two visits. It’s just something to be aware of as a possibility, and one that isn’t seen at most restaurants. Negatives aside, the food is good here. It’s tasty, it’s saucy, and it’s fairly priced. If you are the type of person who is very good at tracking down waiters, and you’re not looking to impress(just eat) I will give a recommendation for this restaurant. And I will return to it also. This three-star rating is not set in stone. I’m willing to up it as I see the service here improve. Because in the food department: they’ve got it!

This place should have 0 stars. DONOTEATHERE! We came here for a late dinner. Once they gave us our water, the cup looked nasty. I scraped my nail inside and it was like nasty scum. I was immediately disgusted. How are they going to serve water/drinks with dirty cups. So I told the guy the cups were dirty and if I can get new ones that are cleaner, he came back with cups that was still dirty. And since we have already ordered, i asked for can soda. I might not even come back with how disgusted I was. The only reason why we came back was because both my kids wanted Chinese food and it was late. I just remembered a year ago, I ordered fried rice and there was a long piece of hair in it. At the time I had shorter hair and my husband is always bald. Anyways I found a long piece of hair in our rice and I told the lady that there was hair in it and she said«no that’s from your hair», I told her I have short hair and my husband is bald. She gave me attitude and said«ok I’ll make new one» 5 min later she brings out a «new» plate of fried rice and again there were still hair in it. I was so pissed off I told her nvm I don’t want this. So I ordered something else because I was already starving. I checked every single thing on our plate to make sure there wasn’t any hair or if they did us dirty. when we finished eating, we paid and didn’t leave a tip because of the service and found hair twice in our fried rice. Clearly they used the same one and didn’t even make me a new one. so as we were walking out, the lady chases us and says«excuse no tip? No tip? Why? Why?» My husband explained to her why we didn’t tip and she begged us to put at least $ 4. Like bitch no I’m not tipping u because u blamed me for the hair second it was the same hair in the second batch. and third she gave me attitude and kept mugging me while I ate. and she had the nerves to chase us outside and beg for tip. Girl bye…

This is a must for me to visit this place and order some fried rice. It’s cheap with great amount. Love this place!

The place has decent Chinese food if you have a late night craving. It’s a little on the pricey side with Average price on each entrée is $ 8 – 9. But like other reviewers have mentioned, the overcharge you. Good news is that in my case it was only about $ 1 more. So I factored in that dollar into my tip. But it’s the principle of being overcharged that I don’t agree with so for that, I won’t be returning and I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Yep. They overcharge you here. I came after reading the reviews really hoping it wasn’t true. I kept track of the prices and calculated the bill WITH tax and they still overcharged me. The bill is handwritten in Chinese and I’m assuming they think that all these late night drunk kids won’t notice… Hell no. I never leave without tipping but I paid what was on the bill with nothing extra. Even with that, I probably paid more than what I needed to. Definitely won’t be coming back… I wonder if anyone brought this up to the workers. Food? It was good in the beginning cause I was starving but after a few bites it was SO salty. I love my food salty but this was way too much.

*YOUWILLGETSCAMMED* They don’t offer free boba anymore, but that’s okay because 85 degrees is right around the corner. Their food used to be spectacular but ever since I realized I’ve been getting scammed, it’s like the food quality just isn’t as great. Please always check your bill before you pay. In the last ten consecutive times that I have gone, I have been overcharged by almost $ 5EVERY time… especially if it’s the asian lady who’s calculating my total. They seem to always overcharge people, so remember how much it says on the menu and estimate your total before paying! Scammers! I kept coming back because the food used to be my favorite, and I kept wanting to give it «another» chance, but really??? I can’t trust to eat at a place that constantly continues to scam people. Not coming back ever again, and I’ve been a loyal customer for over 6 years. :’(

PERSONALLY, I’d rather go to OTHER places for fast Chinese food. I give this FOURSTARS for being open LATE. YOUCANNOT get any better for late night. I’m talking a real meal. You want grease and crap that hurts your stomach? Sure, go La Vics, McDonalds, Denny’s, Phở Mai? Even Jade China will give you more ache than here. BUT if you want real food that’s good enough, for LATENIGHT? You WONT find better. CHEAPTOO. $ 113 for all of this after tax. My order:(of which I ALL recommend. Mongolian beef(3⁄5) Two orders Honey walnut prawn(2.5÷5) Two orders salt and pepper pork chop(2.5÷5) Two orders Hot and sour soup(2.5÷5) Combination vegetable stir fry(2.5÷5) Two orders Garlic porkchop(3⁄5) House fried rice(3⁄5) TOTALPRICE? $ 113. THATSCHEAP. PS. Only contender for late night is Buffalo Wild Wings, and in-n-out.

Excellent food, excellent prices abd quantities. The place is run by an old couple. It is clean, busy and the menu is full if delicious varieties. It is a shame a lot of Unilocalers are giving this place low ratings just for service, which is not that bad.

Haven’t been here since my «stay out til’ 2AM clubbing days»! Decided to swing by for lunch since I had cash on me(I believe they are cash only) and I was in the area. Soooooo freaking delicious. Complimentary hot & sour soup was the absolute best I’ve ever had. Super flavorful an just the right about of spicy to leave you wanting more. I ordered my usual from back in the days: salty fish & chicken fried rice. Soooo good! Just as how I remember. I’m sure all the one star review regarding their lack of service is valid. This isn’t one of those places you can expect service – whatsoever. With that said, enjoy the good food and don’t leave a tip! That makes up for their shitty attitude, no? I’d like to think so! Too yummy to not try it out. ***Review Update*** Went back here during my lunch hour. I had seen from Unilocal they open at 10; however when I arrived there at 10:54a they said to come back since they open at 11. I return at 11:02 and they«shoo» me away not allowing me to sit down because they were still mopping the floor and demanded I come back in 10 mins. I don’t have all day as I’m on my 30 min lunch. They were unnecessarily rude as though I’m an inconvenience to them!!! What the??? I left and went next door.

Open until 3AM. Decent people watching and greasy goodness-type Chinese food, ranging from standards like beef chow fun(excellent) to more exotic fare like frog legs(never tried) and fried chongqing chicken(with the numbing spice — decent). Free tapioca milk tea(inconsistent in tea strength and tapioca doneness). Order the never fail salt and pepper chicken wings, beef chow fun, fried steamed buns with condensed milk, salty fish and chicken fried rice, hot and sour seafood soup, and a clay pot. Service is efficient for such as crowded joint, and let’s be honest: at a place like this, being open late is already providing decent service, and you don’t mind the brusqueness as long as they bring the food to the table.

What’s good about this place is that it serves decent Chinese food and that it opens late(3AM)! Other than that, I have nothing else that is positive to say about this place. I mean, supposedly they serve free milk tea here, but you’ll rarely get it. Maybe you have to ask for it? I’ve got it maybe once or twice and I used to come here a lot back then. Not so much anymore, but I did come back a week or so ago, and I didn’t get any tea then either, but that’s okay. Their milk tea isn’t good anyways. As I mentioned above, their food is decent here. I always order their clams in black bean sauce, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour soup, fish filet, etc. They have a pretty good size menu with a lot of choices. The food price is quite inexpensive, but what you don’t know is that they tend to add a few extra dollars to your bill. I actually never knew they did this until a friend told me about it. I mean, I don’t normally calculate my bill, I just pay it. Anyways, I calculated it by adding the numbers up and they actually OVERCHARGED me about $ 4 – 7 dollars. At first, I thought it was just a mistake, but every time I come here, they tend to make a «mistake» on my bill? How hard is it to calculate the bill especially when they use a calculator. But every time though?! And they write your orders in Chinese and the price right next to it so who knows if they even write down the write price. The staff pretty much takes your order and you’ll probably won’t hear from them again until you wave them down to order something or get the bill… Overall, I would avoid this place unless you really want Chinese food in the middle of the night and this place is the only thing that is open nearby. Just remember to CALCULATE your bill before paying!

«OPENLATE, EVENGREAT!» GREATLATENIGHTFOOD for rather inexpensive prices! Honey walnut shrimp=A+ Chow fun=B, noodles could be a little less thick and more separated for more flavorful noodle bites throughout. (refer to photos as everything we ordered was delicious!) Except for the fried rice, the rice was way too sticky and overcooked, however, my brother who dines here a few nights a week tells me that the fried rice never tasted like that before, so I’ll let tit slide.

China palace had been renovated and it now has a more modern feel. They took down all the pictures of the menu, got new menus, painted the walls, and I think they use the air conditioning. My bet is they got flagged by the health department and had to undergo some major changes. Changes that I really appreciate! They might not offer free milk tea anymore which is a super bummer but the food was just as I remembered. Greasy, yummy, and fast! I ordered the salty fish and chicken fried rice, garlic pork chops, and garlic Chinese broccoli. I’m happy to say their food hasn’t changed but I wish their service would get an upgrade as well.

LATENIGHT hole in the wall chinese joint that opens ’til 3 am for your post bar drunchie needs! they serve complimentary hot tea & white rice to accompany your meal —mongolian beef: the beef was tender & tasty but there were WAY too many raw onions on the dish(probably so they could give less meat) —walnut shrimp: you can never go wrong with this dish anywhere NOTE: CASHONLY

Service? Non-fucking-existent. Methods of payment: cash only. Overall ambience: hectic and loud. Space: very little(like 12 tables total). Menu: extensive and prices are inexpensive. Speed: waited no more than 10 minutes. My only gripe about this place is that they do not accept Visa/MC. The wait for the kids and I was roughly around 15 – 20 minutes which isn’t that bad but since we were all hungry, every second seemed forever. There is another Chinese restaurant nearby that we can be seated right away but you have to question why this place is so popular and filled w/Chinese folks! My daughter wanted Chinese for her birthday dinner so Unilocal landed me here. I wanted to knock off a bookmark and to dine for cheap. For some reason, now that I am making slightly more money, I am more conscious w/it. We ordered the shrimp fried rice and while I wanted chow fun, I went w/the beef and tofu w/a serving of white rice. It’s somewhat healthier. At least that is what I believed. After being seated, I told the rude ass couple that there is a sea of people waiting so they should talk elsewhere so I don’t need to see either of their faces. They gave me a mean ass look but left in less than 5 minutes. What the fuck. People are oblivious and downright rude! I wanted to punch them in the face. Anyhow. The food came out and it was piping hot and delicious. Tess’ fried rice looked bland but it wasn’t. It was flavorful. No soy sauce added. My beef and tofu dish was also tasty. The beef was very tender and the tofu was soaked in their gravy mixture. I’d come back. Will try to be nicer to rude folks next time. No, I don’t think so. F them!

I’ve dined here a few times in the past and tonight was a stark reminder why I will never return. Sure the food is very authentic, but inconsistent with some dishes being tasty and others mediocre. They offer dishes most Chinese restaurants in South Bay don’t, like the Salty Fish and Chicken Fried Rice. Aside from that I was not impressed. The menu is full of fish dishes, which explains the pungent fish smell when you walk in. If you seek Chinese fish dishes, this is definitely the place. Also the portions are extremely generous; unfortunately, the accolades end there. Cash only places like here, annoy the crap out of me as I have to go and take cash out from an ATM next door and spend $ 3 before I even order my food. Sure I should plan or remember that they don’t accept anything else, but last time I checked we are in the 21st century, where I can pay with my phone at some places. I can only speculate but Uncle Sam is not getting his share with ostensibly forged books. The service here is horrible! We waited for menus while the staff stood around talking, and finally got them myself. Want utensils with your food, get them yourself as well. Need leftover boxes and your bill, go to the counter and ask or wait to be noticed. And when I leave a deserving shitty tip, they give you an attitude, as if I’m obligated to tip well for inexistent service. The guy literally tried to hand me my tip back stating, «I don’t need it(sarcastically),» right after I heard him say, under his breath, «that’s it?» Well get off your phone and your ass and earn it. For the record, I always tip minimum 20% for deserving service. F$&@ this place and the fetid interior of a fish market. On top of that, the tables are crammed such that the back of my head is being grazed by someone’s ass when they stood up!

I went here a few times so I’m ready to give my review. I never gave 5 stars on a restaurant with bad service, but this place is an exception. Why? Because their food is so damn good! My favorite orders are peking style spare ribs, string beans, snow peas, and walnut shrimp. I highly recommend to order the peking style spare ribs. When customers seen us eating it, they always asked, «That looks good, what is it?» Also, this place is not pricey either and great delicious food. I believe this place is open late and does get really crowded during peak times.
