Service is a tad slow, but come on. It’s time for tea. Time to slow down for a bit. They were wonderful and brewed a number of teas for me to sample. The prices were also very reasonable considering the high quality of the teas they have. I’d love to go back and eat at the café sometime. And they have a fun selection of home-furnishings and amusing socks.

I just tried the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea, while visiting with friends in Wyoming. It was fabulous! I will be ordering some when I return home from vacation.

I first became aware of Harney & Sons a few years ago while dining at the Cascades restaurant that is inside the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. I had their Hot Cinnamon Spice Black Tea and fell in love with it instantly. In this particular tea it consists of Black Tea, Cinnamon, Orange Peel and Sweet Clove. Oh, how I desperately wanted to buy some of their tea! Some time passed and I found Harney at a kitchen store in downtown Fort Collins, The Cupboard to be exact. I of course bought two boxes of the Hot Cinnamon Spice and some of the brand’s other varieties. A mint and an Earl Grey varieties if I am not mistaken. While those teas were indeed good my cinnamon tea was still my favorite. I am such a sucker for cinnamon and cloves. A box of Harney & Sons cost about six bucks with twenty tea bags in each box. A bit higher than what I am used to paying for tea but once again, you get what you pay for. Harney & Sons can be kind of hard to find if you don’t live in Millerton, NY so my first suggestion is to try looking at high end kitchen or grocery stores. If you don’t have luck there then you can go to their website at . I won’t mention any other brand names but this tea puts a certain Sleepy Time Tea under the table!

Harney and Sons makes a great line of loose leaf teas and bottled tea drinks as their main business. Though they do make tea centric snacks, books and wares associated with the consumption also. I’ve been somewhat addicted to the bottled iced teas. Organic Peach, Lemonade/Tea, Green/Citrus, and Green Coconut have been on the recent weeks. For the loose leaf, the Darjeeling and Assam’s have also been really good. You don’t see them around Norcal too much but if you do, give them a try…
