Pretty nice place and the coffee is average but I wasn’t a fan of the clientele or the espresso. I love espresso and this is why I came here with my friend. The espresso is average at best. The lingering molasses taste is far too strong, and all I tasted was the molasses. My recommendation would be to cut back on the amount added. The crowd was not I am used to. Just about everyone was taking up seats pecking away on their laptop, and barely eating/drinking. I think it very rude when people take up seats doing work, school work, or chatting on their cell after yoga with their new Lululemon tights on. Just because the shop has free wifi doesn’t give you the right to take up space. If you are not eating or drinking it’s time to move on and be courteous and give up your seat. Seemed like the place for prep school kids or baby boomers in town to get out of NYC. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon!

Wonderful breakfast place in Millerton. Coffee is very good, nice mix of traditional, healthy & offbeat breakfast offerings. Excellent chicken curry salad too. Wonderful ambiance, and the baristas(and manager) are terrific. I was particularly impressed with the coffee stirrers, which are segments of pasta! Once they are used, after a couple minutes in the coffee, they are soft enough to munch on. No solid waste. Brilliant!

I was in New York recently on business and stopped in to see my daughter in the small town of Rhinebeck. We went up to Millerton to a new coffee house she had been ranting and raving about called Irving Farm Coffee Roasters to relax and catch up. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Now, I’m from the Northwest where there are more coffee houses than craft beer places, so I know good coffee. The Irving Farm Coffee Roasters has the best I’ve ever tasted; not the burnt swill from Starbucks, but just good coffee. I found out that these guys source their coffee from small farms in Honduras where everything is done by hand. Okay, so we found some great coffee, but the food was just as good. I had a grilled cheese, which was just perfect. It had creamy cheese melted just right and crisp, not burnt, toast — a lot like I used to get as a kid. But the real surprise was their bread pudding with raspberries & chocolate chips. I don’t care how full you are, you just have to try it… you’ll be hooked! Irving Farms Coffee Roasters actually has seven locations scattered around New York City and Millerton(along with their main roasting location also in Millerton), which should tell you that a lot of coffee lovers love this place. I just wish they had a place back home. Thank you Irving Farm Coffee Roasters for being a part of my East Coast culinary community.

Stopped here for a quick cup of coffee on Valentine’s Day and got more than I expected. I ordered a hot apple cider(cider is my weakness I admit) my boyfriend got a cappuccino and we split a piece of raspberry chocolate chip bread pudding. The drinks were great but I am writing this review to let everyone know about the amazing bread pudding they have here. I probably shouldn’t because if I ever go back it might be sold out but WOW. I had never had cold bread pudding in my life and I was skeptical when my boyfriend ordered it but, this bread pudding was one of the best I have ever had. It had just the right amount of each ingredient. If you are in Millerton, visit Iriving Farms and get the bread pudding. You will not be disappointed

Oh, jeez. Granted, I don’t come here that often anymore. Living in NYC, I frequent the West 79th location more often than not. However, growing up 15 minutes away in Canaan, I used to come here a LOT. When I was 18 and I had my first«big kid» job at Northeast Community Center, I used to come here a few times a week, even! I heard there was a change in management at this Millerton location a few years back; one of my best friends is a frequent customer, and my mother, who works in digital sales, has many meetings here with clients. They both told me to stay away from lunch here now and stick to breakfast. Well, I’ve had a few occasional lunches here over the past few years. Today, in fact, I brought the beau here for a nice Christmas Eve Day lunch before bringing him to his train in Wassaic. What I ate… uh-oh. Not good! I used to get a sandwich very similar to one of their current offerings called the Barista, the Barista containing pesto, mozzarella, and grilled chicken breast. I ordered it today, and the beau got their grilled cheese. Simple, right? I got my sandwich, and the chicken in one half was very rubbery. I took a bite and… I couldn’t even bite through it. I took a bite out of the other half of the sandwich… same thing! I took the chicken out of the sandwich. It was so rubbery, I couldn’t even pull it apart with my fingers! I am way too introverted to tell them that my sandwich was bad, haha, so the beau went up and told them; they were VERY nice about it(…the staff is always lovely!) and they gave me a replacement grilled cheese sandwich with potato chips. The grilled cheese was great! It’s hard to screw up one of those. Heh. Also, they don’t use Harney chai anymore, which kind of bums me out, but I do like their spicy housemade mix! Their breakfasts items and pastries are still very much on point. In fact, I love love LOVE their pastries! I think my loyalty towards them will remain to their breakfast items and their chai lattes. To backtrack to a few paragraphs ago, I’ve had a few lunches here over the past few years since this alleged management change, and this isn’t the first *meh* sandwich I’ve had there. After too many *meh* sandwiches there over the past few years, however, I may stick to grilled cheese, or perhaps soup, if I ever find myself there after noon.

An A+ lunch — buttery delightful grilled cheese with caramelized onions and apples on rye… holy crap it was amazing! Got a cup of the black bean soup — great flavors and textures… Bravo!!!

Terribly rude management.(Generally I’m a huge fan of this chain, but sadly would never return to this one. Much friendlier places in the area.) Actually, now that I’m back in my regular town, I’m still loathe to go to ANY of these, based on my horrid experience with the management at the Millerton location.

Great food and friendly people. The only gripe is that it’s way too busy, especially when were here on the weekend(there aren’t that many breakfast options in town). That being said, I enjoyed a very delicious lox/avocado/cream cheese sandwich. Couple of nice local beers I hadn’t seen before were available. It’s a popular place and even patronized by local celebrities(the SO’s brother pointed out the editor of Cosmo was in line).

Somehow I can always find a table at Irving, no matter how busy they are. The servers are always warm, friendly and efficient. The coffee is the best. The baked goods are amazing. The sandwiches and soups are delicious. For breakfast, I always get the Evil Moo wrap — perfection. It’s the perfect combination of local hangout and special occasion for out of town visitors.

Went for brunch with some friends today. We hit it just at the right time – 11:30 on Sunday morning – plenty of seating available. I had a good omelette – spinach, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese, but no toast! Nope, no accompanying bread product whatsoever.

So glad I stopped by here on my way to the Interlaken Inn to meet with a client. Was dying for something refreshing, but didn’t necessarily want to opt for a coffee, though I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a great menu for it. I got a 7 layer bar which shamefully I scarfed down in less than 2 minutes, and an Arnold Palmer that was true perfection. The staff is super friendly, the menu is what you’d expect for a neat little«corner coffee shop» and had an interesting layout that felt communal. Can’t wait to some back!

Coffee is good and so are the sandwiches and pastries. Sandwiches are nothing I can’t make at home. Atmosphere has great vibes, buzzing with lots of people(early afternoon on a weekend. Lots of seating. Very clean bathroom. My only complaint is that they charged my husband for a to-go cup for his in-house coffee. I mean relentlessly stubborn about this and charged full price! We didn’t make a scene and just went along with their bad policy. All this after spending $ 50AND tip. I live near by and because of their stingy, greedy policy, over a mere $ 3, they will be missing out on these regular customers. Won’t be coming back.

Delicious coffee(albeit expensive — close to $ 2.90 for a small coffee with soy milk). This is a cute little coffee shop in the hamlet of Millerton that would be the perfect place to stop in for coffee while walking around, or to stop and get some work done. The space is large with several tables. The shop also serves sandwiches and pastries, but I did not have any food upon my visit.

Horrible service. They don’t understand the basics of customer service. The quality of the food continues to decline. They are no longer the only option in town. I prefer Back in the Kitchen in Amenia any day.

Great place. Friendly and casual. Great place for delicious coffees and teas and cold drinks as well. They also serve sandwiches and morning breakfast foods. I usually get here in late afternoon and it can be a depleted of «coffee and…» items. There are still pastries tho. I just love the afternoon great cup of coffee so I’m always pleased!

At least once a month we have to make the 75 minute drive and get our favorite sandwich and coffee house fix! It isn’t just the sandwiches either, the coffee is extraordinary and the Harney Teas never disappoint. Someday we are going to have to try something different but for now… my wife can’t stop craving the Portobello pesto Panini and I love the turkey bacon roaster on a delicious multigrain bread. Also the ambiance is always nice in this great country village. For dessert the chocolate croissant is a must if you can get one because we always have to fight over the last one. Millerton is obviously very proud of this place because locals seem to predominate and they should be because the next comparable place is another 45 minutes away in Rhinebeck and there is nothing like this in Connecticut that I have ever been to. This place is more than a coffee house… it is a destination..

They have the best espresso! I go to the stores in the city, so it’s great seeing them in the burbs. Pros: the espresso! So good. The staff is always friendly! The ambiance is very café like and laid back. How it should be. Cons: none!

Had the grilled cheese special with basil pesto, tomato and spinach. Really delightful. The bread was buttery and crisp. Although not on the menu you can get a side salad with your sandwich for about a 4 dollar up charge. Not a big coffee drinker but want to try a drink? Go for the latte with vanilla. The vanilla and chocolate syrups are made in house and the bitter coffee taste is mild. Also, don’t pass on the tasty pasties. They’re made in house ! The oatmeal raspberry bar is where it’s at. To top it off the baristas are so sweet, so what’s not to love about this place :)
