Awesome sandwich made to order the way you like it. Ask for the wifi and it’s a great place to eat and wait for someone to land at the airport.

Leonardo’s Deli, in Millbrae, is a real gem! They have been In business since 1987, and they must be doing something right. Ever day, the place is filled with a hungry lunch crowd. My favorite lunch is their 49er sandwich. It is full of roast beef and cheese. They have a lot of other sandwich choices too, and each sandwich comes with a side salad of your choice. The soups are made each day with the freshest of ingredients. Yum! They sure manage to keep this Italian happy!

When I got together with my friends for a luncheon yesterday, I had a great tuna sandwich, with some fantastic salads and soups. The tuna sandwich made by Mollie was so good I had to have my leftover half before dinner that night. Keep up the great work! Madeline V.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere the damned tastiest veggie sandwich I’ve recently ingested(The Athletic minus the mayo, plus some breaded eggplant on Dutch crunch)! Leonardo’s son was working the counter and I can say this place has way more space, character, comfort, charm and flavor than any of the chain cafes on Broadway. Will be glad to study here again!

I go in about once a week to get my sandwich for lunch. Usually get a turkey and cheddar. Recently, I’ve gotten the Nancy K. I’ve been coming here since 1996 so Gary, the owner, has been doing well! Almost all the meats and salads are made in house, especially, the roast turkey. The soups are great too, and perfect for those that are feeling under the weather.

The breakfast sandwich is made to perfection. Croissant, egg, cheese, onion, tomato, and pesto sauce made this a perfect combination. I came here on an early Saturday morning a little bit before the Millbrae Super Chili Bowl Fun Run. I’ll definitely come back here when I stroll past millbrae. Highly recommend. — Black Tiger

I came back and finally tried a regular sandwich. Lots of flavor, and lots of meat on this uboat sized sub sandwich. I got one of the sands with a variety of Italian meats, and am glad that I did l. Healthy amount of garlic, so bring mouthwash if you have any afternoon appointments, but I loved the«Nancy k» from the specials board

Wow! the worst experience(so-far) at a Deli place. Went there around 1:00pm, no line and speedy service made for a nice in/out situation. Sweet, not I’m back in the office, ready to open this huge ‘Niner’ sandwich, and that’s when it was all bad!!! smeared mayo and avocado was all over the placed, stuff hanging out the side, just overall really bad looking sandwich. But oh well, I was hungry. So, I rolled up my sleeves, covered my shirt, pants, desk, and surrounding area with napkins and I dug in. Yeeaaak! terrible cheese, bad avocado, and the meat — Oh the meat, let’s just say that it wasn’t eatable. This is was my first time there, and I’m not sure if I will be back. I really wanted to like this place as always try to support local business over safeway right next door :-/

My mom didn’t have any complaints and I think the sandwiches are good. I woulda liked if the horseradish was a little hotter. That part was a lil bland. It is pretty creamy tho. The meat is really good tho and the bread is really fresh and tasty. The cheeses here are pretty good and I like the authentic taste of the sandwiches . The place is also very appealing.

Such a shame there are not many good Italian deli’s around anymore… but there is a subway on every block. The 3 kids behind the counter were totally confused. The sandwich was terrible. They screwed up my order… the cheese was a joke… they side salad looked good but the fly inside the case made in unappealing. If they train the staff and clean the place up it would be a good little corner deli.

It’s sad that I haven’t written a review earlier because this place is fantastic! Place is well priced for the quality of food and the great service that they give. U come in every weekend to grab lunch between work and am constantly welcomed and taken care of. I wouldn’t go to any other sandwich shop in the area. PS: Nate is there just about every time I am and makes the most well balanced sandwiches there! Props to him for helping me out every weekend!

After a morning of pediatric clinical rotation, I was famished. Was driving down the El Camino trying to decide what I wanted for lunch and thought a sandwich sounded like a good idea, so I looked up deli’s and came across this one close by. The guy(I think the owner) was very friendly. I ordered my sandwich, turkey and cheddar with everything, some chips, and a soda, totalled just under $ 11, not too bad. The sandwich was pretty good, I’d just suggest slicing the onions thinner, I pulled out a couple too thick slices. But overall a good choice for lunch. They have other deli items, a huge drink selection, and some imported specialty items.

Way better than Mr Pickles. Cheaper and better quality meat. If you compare the two pastramis for example, Leonardos is on a whole ‘nother level. Roast beef, eye of round, tri tip, corned beef… it’s freshly sliced for your sandwich. If you see red when sadwich places shove a thin sliver of meat in between two thick bread halves, then go to Leonardos, I’ve never had them skimp. Good selection of sauces, mustards, condiments, and sides. Gives it a good edge over Millbrae’s numerous sandwich spots. I wish they didn’t close at 5.

I’ve been to Leonardo’s three times. Twice I got the tuna salad sandwich on sourdough, and once I got the Shaddy Daddy(chicken breast, mushrooms, tomato, lettuce, mozzarella, mayo on non-sourdough bread). The first time I went, the owner Gary rung me up. For some reason, I got a half tuna salad sandwich with a side of potato salad for about $ 5, probably because I had it for here, or because Gary rung me up. The second time I went, I got a full-size(about $ 8) tuna salad sandwich to go, which was huge! Third time was the Shaddy Daddy(about $ 9.50) because I didn’t want tuna anymore. The Shaddy Daddy is a huge, hot sandwich and it was delicious! Perfect amount of chicken breast, veggies, and cheese on a type of bread that wasn’t sourdough or wheat or white or whole grain(sorry, I’ll follow up with this). They have stamp cards so be sure to keep your receipt if you forgot to bring your stamp card with you! Buy 10, get one free. Credit cards: They take American Express. Score!

Tasty, fresh, friendly, great location close to shopping. Love the local family business vibe and cred. They’ve been filling happy tummies in Millbrae for years. I’ll be back here for sandwiches soon.

Rule 1: if you get one of the hot sandwiches, wait til you drive/walk back to your office to try and eat it. your dry cleaners will thank you for the extra business. Rule 2: this is where the locals eat, from offices to teens to cops. that’s where you want to go for a good deal and a great sandwich. Rule 3: get the tri tip. it’s insane.

When it comes to deli sandwiches, Leonardo’s is THESPOT! Best tasting roast beef in the peninsula. Service is friendly and the owner is a great dude. They also give you a free side salad which is a big plus if you ask me. I definitely recommend the pesto pasta!

While walking around doing errands in Milbrae I decided to check Unilocal for a recommendation on where to eat. I saw Leonadro’s and figure sure lets give it a try! The vibe of the place feels like a 7-eleven fused with a deli store, a little odd but familiar enough to put my mind at ease. I decided to try the 49er sandwich with their signature pesto mayo sauce. I loved the fact that they make their roast beef and turkey in house and it shows, especially in the roast beef. The beef was well cooked, had an amazing peppery herbaceous crust and ever so tender. That aside, the rest of the sandwich was just a-ok. I know I know, its a sandwich, so why so picky? To keep it simple, besides the meat, there wasn’t anything else that stood out that was different then what I would do at home. Overall Thoughts Amazing roast beef =)
