Hands down best wine shop in Marin. I knew very little about Spanish wines when I moved to Mill Valley. So glad someone recommended The Spanish Table. Like big plummy reds? Maybe something equivalent to a decent cab from Napa or Sonoma? Like not spending a boatload of money? This is the place. Their $ 12 Casa Castillo is a screaming bargain. Lots of fantastic options in the $ 20 range. Tucked away in the Strawberry shopping center across from Pizza Antica, worth a visit.

I love this place! Huge paella pans dot the walls in the back and you can pretty much get any ingredient you desire for cooking spanish cuisine. I drop by for the seafood broth, bomba rice, saffron, sherry vinegar and fantastic wine selection they have. If you do a bit of research you’ll find that they have a wide selection of really good Spanish wines… at a very aggressive cost. It’s priced comparable to K&L, with a slightly different inventory and you’re able to pick up at either the Berkeley or Mill Valley location.

I’ve always walked past this place on my way to La Boulange or High Tech Burrito, but I never actually poked my head inside. And then the other day, my friend needed to buy some special spices for an upcoming dinner, and we stopped in. Well, I’ll be damned. What a cool, little store! This is certainly a biz that you shouldn’t judge by its cover. I was always under the impression that they just sold ingredients and appliances for paella. Boy, was I wrong. They have so many other neat food items(meats, rice, sauces), as well as exotic spices, and cute gift ideas. What was most surprising was their vast selection of wines. I thought that Safeway was the only place to purchase vino in Strawberry. But if you’re really looking for some inspired options(from red to sparkling), The Spanish Table has got you covered. The store has a whole lot of charm going for it. I’ll definitely be returning here the next time I need to find a housewarming gift or wine for a dinner party.

If you’re seeking something from the Iberian Peninsula that you have had trouble finding elsewhere, stop what you’re doing and head to this place immediately. The Great: + The selection of Spanish and Portuguese wines is impressive. + The selection of Vermouth, Sherry, and Port is even more impressive. + A wonderful selection of imported canned and dried foods. + Impressive selection of meats and cheese. Similar items to La Tienda but definitely cheaper. + Three words(if you don’t know these words, you must learn them): Jamon Iberico de Bellota. Yup, they have it. + Crazy selection of Paella
