Seven-Eleven Food Stores

Your typical 7-​Eleven. The guys that work here are always mildly friendly and the store is stocked with a decent variety of snacks and drinks. Bonus: surprisingly decent selection of beer.

Driving to work at about 6:45am I was in urgent need of coffee. Seeing the 7 – 11 I had to stop. I got the medium-​large (red cup) coffee which is about $ 1.50
I don’t know if the register guy was in a good mood or just likes to flirt early in the morning but he only told me to pay 1 dollar. I didn’t know what to say. What a deal, what a discount? What should I do to thank him for doing this for me?
I paid him one dollar and have never returned since. That is how I returned the favor. I do not like getting special treatment for no reason at such an early hour in the morning. Is this guy trying to butter me up for something bigger he’s going to ask me later? Does he think that if he gives me this discount that I will continue to come in early in the morning and buy the coffee? Well little does he know, this evil plan of his backfired.
I think that if I did return, again and again, I think our relationship would turn into something more (in his mind at least) and the last thing I want to do is cause some emotional, psychological, or mental damage to a guy that thinks he is getting somewhere with me by giving me some huge discount on columbian roast coffee with irish-​cream.
In reality, I only like the 7 – 11 coffee for the irish cream and hazelnut cream individually sealed liquid cream packets.

Be careful in this store. I went to buy a soda and gave the guy a $ 20. After some business about getting change from the other register, he only gave me change for a $ 10. No way to argue. Very expensive soda. Couldn’t’ tell if on purpose or if he just was not focused, but at any rate, will never go back to that store and will be very careful in any 7-​Eleven. The $ 10 they made off me pales by comparison to the many years of future lost business.
