Similar to Kay Park, this is a super secret playground tucked out of the way in Mill Valley. The park is seldom populated, so it’s great to bring a play date or a child who is not terribly sociable. There is nice shade and it’s set in a cooler section of Mill Valley, which is wonderful for hot summer days. This park has some really neat structures that I’ve never seen elsewhere — a large, spinning spider web thing and twisty lollipop seats. Also, the playground is completely fenced, which is good because it’s set right next to the road. There is very little traffic here, however, so you can count on a peaceful time. On the downside, a HUGE disappointment is the fact that the«digging» area for the little children has rough rocks in it. Toddlers pick up the rocks and strew them around. The lower, little child play area is padded, but those damn rocks are everywhere, making it pretty tough for the little ones when they topple over. Also, there is no bathroom. Scott Highlands Park is fun, sweet and unique, but kids can get easily bored after 45 minutes to an hour. However, it still remains a favorite of mine because of its out of the way nature.
