Talk about a place with NO customer service. I bought a burrito to go and when I got back to work, my burrito had nothing I had asked for. When I went back to them, they«couldn’t do anything». Very poor experience for a place like mill valley.

Great quick healthy veggie burrito! Very consistent quality. Great chicken salad too. Local’s hangout and popular with teens.

Casual enough where you can walk in and order at the counter on your way home from the beach, but nice enough to get a good meal and not feel like you settled for fast food. Reasonable prices and great food.

Sh*# mexican food you can get. if you think chipotle is to america dang this place is also. you have to ask for them to melt the cheese and the cheese is cold, they burn there chicken and their refried beans is llike pinot bean soup on a burrito and its funny because latinos are making the food… lost my business

Their chicken taco salad is divine. I don’t know what makes it so addictive… maybe the dressing, or the moistness of the chicken or(ack) the illusion I’m eating something healthy? I also appreciate that they always get my rather complicated burrito order right, even though it is never quite the same size twice.

Wow, this was the best chicken taco salad that I’ve had. It was huge, plenty of chicken, and a nice lite dressing. Service was quick and my salad was ready in 2 minutes. What an awesome place. YUM. 12 bucks for a great salad and a drink. I’d be a regular if I lived closer !

Grilly’s is a supporter of the local Mill Valley community. There is a wall of kid’s soccer team sponsorships and a dining room full of colorful communal tables covered in celebratory Mexican oilcloth and a wall covered in kids-level chalkboards. This is a spot to take kids on those nights when making dinner at home seems daunting. Every community needs its alternative-to-cooking spots, and Grilly’s fits that mold. It took us a while to find this place once the Mexican food cravings finally set in, because with their name we were picturing a diner, and not Mexican food. My shrimp burrito included very small shrimp(I prefer the big shrimp version) and giant grilled onions. It was a very soupy, fall apart burrito that was bland and ultimately disappointing. There was a lukewarm thumbs-up from my partner in crime for the grilled chicken burrito, so maybe I’ll try that next time. The watermelon aqua fresca and horchata were legit, and the best of what we ordered. In all, a locals spot with a-ok Mexican food, geared to hungry families on this side of the bridge.

The food(enchiladas) is very Ordinary — and nothing more. Not really set up as a real sit-down restaurant either. ‘Service’ folks were weird /unhelpful. Table & seats not cleaned from previous diner(s). Wouldn’t go back.

The beef wet burrito was filling. Very sloppy but good. The atmosphere is cheery. They charge extra for chips and salsa… the salsa is good but the chips were boring and dry. The fish tacos are flavorful but need to be drained before putting it on the shell because it was extremely watery. Horchata was ok but the magi drink was very good…

My love for Grilly’s started in high school, which was over 12 years ago. I had their chicken taco salad wrap and it changed my life. I could not eat enough of them. Full disclosure I even worked here in high school so that I could get more chicken taco salad wraps. There is something about the crisp lettuce, with the unique dressing which has a hint of sweetness with the crispy tortilla bites– yum! Whenever I go back to my old stomping grounds I make sure to visit here and order a chicken taco salad wrap. I don’t even think it’s on the menu anymore, but they will still make it for you. There’s nothing quite like a salad wrapped up like a burrito. You should give it a try.

I have been here many times, as I am a MV resident, and there are limited options for decent Mexican food without driving to San Rafael or the City. I usually get a burrito or enchiladas, and they are reliably ok, but not amazing. On Saturday, I decided to change up and order the grilled chicken tacos. Good choice — they were larger than street tacos(2 for $ 6.50, but enough for a meal without sides), with tasty sauce and well-prepared chicken. This place had a few quirks, like only serving chips in a bag, and charging extra for that, but overall, a decent place to get Mex food in Mill Valley if you don’t want to drive out of town.

I read the positive reviews of Grilly’s before going and was enthusiastic to try the place. My enthusiasm disappeared as soon as I began interacting with the woman behind the counter. This«order-taker» was one of the most angry, unprofessional, negative service employees I have ever encountered. She was rude to my wife, my children, and myself. I hope she was simply having a bad day, because otherwise, Grilly’s needs significant help. She messed up my order, did not direct me to more appropriate orders(our food was redundant) and she was literally shooing us away despite the lack of a line. My wife was about to leave when I paid the bill(which was also wrong). So, having survived«Ms. I need a new career», I was even more disappointed when three hours later, my dinner returned with a vengeance. Big D, Montezuma’s Revenge… call it what you will. I was pretty incapacitated for a while. CLEARLY, I will not be returning anytime soon…

We decided to have Grilly’s cater our daugther’s birthday party after having truly enjoyed their burritos at a friends birthday party a month prior. To avoid any confusion, I went to Grilly’s to order in person. Estuardo assisted me with the order and that went smoothly. Five days prior to the event, I phoned Estuardo to increase the size of our order(as the size of the party had dramatically increased). He stated that he was with a group of people and that he would be available after 4pm. I phoned at 405pm and was told that Estuardo left for the day around 2pm. Weird. The following day, I was told that Estuardo was not working and to call back the next day, which I did. Again, Estuardo informed me that he was busy and needed to talk«later». I phoned back after 2 hours and finally spoke with Estuardo. After requesting the increased order, Estuardo angrily stated, «This is the last time you are allowed to make any changes in your order!» Totally bizarre. I thought he must have me confused for someone else since I had been very friendly(despite the challenges contacting him) and the was the only tie I had ever changed the order. Additionally, why would you mind making more money on a catering job if you know days in advance of the job itself? On the day of the event, my husband went to pick up the order at 1045am, when he was«greeted» by Estuardo who said, «I told her five times on the phone that the order would be ready at 11am!» Now I was convinced he had me confused with someone else because he told me once. Besides, it was 1045am! My husband obviously sat and waited the whole 15 minutes. The order itself was fine, although my husband forgot one of the bags in the car and when I called to ask about the additional portion of the order, Estuardo literally hung up on me! I have never experienced such bizarre, unprovoked, lack of professionalism from any business. Unfortunately, although their burritos are very good and their salsa is awesome, I will never have Grilly’s cater one of our parties again.

I had the steak and shrimp burrito which was pretty good! They filled it with refried beans, sour cream and guac. Most places fill them with rice, so that was nice. It is not very authentic, so if that’s what your looking for this is not our place.

We were lured in by the festive Mexican vibe while coming back from Muir Beach(music, colors, front patio). Sadly, the festive vibe wasn’t continued with the cashier! An attentive and concerned worker would have noticed we hadn’t been here before(we were trying to figure out if it was sit down ordering or self order). Would have loved an intro to the menu or suggestions of what to try. My husband got a bbq chicken burrito and it was good… does not come with chips/salsa and it would have been cool if cashier asked if we wanted to add some to our order. I ordered a chicken taco salad. It was chopped great but super plain for $ 10! Lettuce, chicken tomatoes and some corn chips. Helllo Avacodo? Pico? Beans? There is no bar area for condiments like salsa, lime or jalapeños.

This is my favorite Mexican take away in Southern Marin. The food is always good, especially the burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas. Prices are reasonable if not starting to reach sit down restaurant levels. The only negative experience I had here was when they forgot to activate my buzzer. Oh well, in the end I got the food.

Behold there are great burritos in your midst. Right under thine noses and nostrils. Thou needeth not wonder into the Mission unless on a pilgrimage.(Book of Beans 1:1) Really, after the steak burrito with habanero salsa went down the food pipe I felt euphoric and increasingly diaphoretic(and a little scared). It wasn’t that the pepper was painful on the palate. It was not. It gave a nice slow burn that crescendoed and plateaued(for a good 10 minutes) before slowly dissipating. It was the fact that I didn’t have a little handkerchief in my pocket to mop up the sweat dripping down my forehead. I ended up with a piece of paper-towel stuck to my temple from having dabbed it too many times. Oh well. It was for a good cause. The meat is fresh, the produce green and the place is clean. Take that Lord Byron. That really sums up the place. Oh AND the nachos were something out of Tex Mex heaven. Forget paradise. Give me that plate from heaven, heaping with delicious cheese, guacamole and tender morsels of chicken. Damn. I just may have to meander back in a few hours. Who knew? Chipotle can shove it. Taco Bell can go to… Yeah precisely.

This place makes Taco Bell look like La Taqueria in the Mission. You should only go if you are a tired parent and your kid needs food before they flip out. That will be the only other people you see here at this dump. Totally inedible. I will post a picture of the slop they call a burrito.

This place was a nice find for a Mexican food craving(which occur at least once a day in my world). The food was fresh, service was somewhat friendly, and the menu options were creative. My biggest issue was that I felt my food lacked a lot of flavor. I got the super burrito bowl with grilled chicken and black beans. I was looking for my flavors, more spices and just something that stood out to me. Overall, the place was clean, service was friendly and the food was mediocre.

Spicy flavors. Juicy steak. Guac, sour cream, cheese heaven. I love this place! I hadn’t been to Grilly’s in years, and after quite the heavy nap this afternoon, I awoke with a taste for a particular flavor. I knew immediately that it was a bite– juicy steak, hot salsa, sour cream, guacamole, rice and black beans all tangled up in the perfect bite that is the Grande Steak Burrito from Grilly’s. Friday night, thought it might be fun to head down to the Mill Valley location with my cousin, Amanda. It is our New Year’s Resolution to wander from the beaten trail of our usual restaurants and eateries. I have typically been to the Fairfax location, which never disappoints, and was pleased when, years later, craving this particular taste, I got exactly what I had craved. The restaurant is on Miller Avenue in Mill Valley. The outside was lit up with cute, little lights and the inside was spotlessly clean, with a festive menu, great music, and families already chowing down on grub. Took maybe 5 minutes to get two, fresh, delicious steak burritos juuuust the way we like ‘em. And they were just fantastic. I have never had a bad meal at this or the Fairfax location. I come here for guaranteed excellence when I don’t want to worry about whether or not my meal will be good. For 2 Grande Steak Burritos we paid $ 17. Not cheap, but similar to what you might pay at Chipotle. These burritos are as humongous as Chipotle, but they are better tasting and fill you up all the same without feeling obese. Yum, yum, yum.
