Amy Coburn at Millwood Place

Amy is the best hairstylist I’ve ever had :) She really cares about making sure your hair looks amazing and the way you want it. She doesn’t stop till she is satisfied. She is super professional. She helped me get my hair, which had been neglected and had roots for days, ready for my wedding. It ended up looking amazing – Super blonde but also really natural. I love the haircut she gives me too– she is an artist and really knows what’s best for your hair. My hair has honestly never looked better. Amy is also super sweet and fun to spend a few hours with. If you want help getting ready for a big day, or just want to look good all the time, I really recommend Amy.

I have medium-​length blond hair, and was very happy with Amy’s highlights — the blond color was exactly the shade I was looking for, and the amount wasn’t too much, and not too little. Amy is warm, friendly, and listens well. I liked the feel of the salon, too!

Amy creates «artistry» with hair. She listens to what you are saying, and cares about how everything turns out. She loves her work and shows attention to detail. She doesn’t loose sight of what is happening, even though she is having conversation with you. It is a light atmosphere and a pleasure to see her at Millwood. She has years of experience to share «on you».

I found Amy through Groupon. After leaving her a message, she returned my call within the hour and set up an appointment for the following day.
The salon is incredibly quaint — more like something you would find in the Midwest rather than Marin. For me, that was a huge selling point. It wasn’t trying to be blatantly hip, trendy, overly modern, etc.
Amy listened to what I wanted with my hair and followed the picture that I wanted closely. When it turned out that I didn’t actually like how the haircut looked on me, she gladly made adjustments and helped me find a style that would work.

Amy is the total package of what you want in a stylist-​extremely talented, personable, efficient, and perceptive. I have been looking for a stylist for 2+ years now, and feel extremely fortunate to have finally found someone that is so talented and also so down-​to-​earth. I was incredibly impressed with how quickly and aptly she assessed what I was trying to achieve and made it a reality. It’s been forever since I’ve been this happy with a haircut-​the quality with Amy is so far above and beyond the cost. There definitely is a reason for these 5-​star reviews, I highly recommend you see for yourself what the hype is about. :)

After reviewing Groupon offers for a haircut and highlight, I called Amy and booked with her immediately as she was so kind, direct and accommodating when making the appt.
The salon itself is quaint, comfortable and completely professional. The owner and Amy have a great relationship and their banter with each other and clients makes the visit fun and the time flew by!
Amy did a great job with my hair. She asked what I wanted and then diplomatically told me how she was going to do it to look the best. I also love the highlights she chose for me based on what I told her I wanted. They look completely natural and again, the time flew by. I usually don’t like to spend the time or money on highlights but it was such a great experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and do it again!
If you’re looking for a place that’s not fussy but you can still get great services, this is your place!

I was lucky enough to meet Amy on her first day at Millwood! She is easy and pleasant to work with, is knowledgable about all kinds of hair and never pushes anything on you. She has colored my hair 3x now and it has never looked better! She is building her clientele here after relocating from NYC, so I recommend getting in to see her before she gets booked it! You won’t be sorry!

Amy Coburn, who works at Millwood Place in Mill Valley, is the best. If you are looking for a new hairdresser she’s amazing, I highly recommend her. She can do anything that you want done to you hair and listens to what your needs are.
