My husband and I ate here with with my sister and her husband. The service was great, very efficient and friendly. The meals were tasty and the atmosphere was comfortable. We will be back.

We’ve been here three times since they opened. I like the atmosphere and the location is great. The beer offering is good but the menu hasn’t changed much since they opened. The food is ok, we had a bison burger tonight and asked for medium but it came out very well done. The wings are tasty but quite small. Last time I had the meatball sandwich and it was quite dry but the sauce was good. I really wanted to like this place, loved Clarkes, but it just isn’t there. Might be a good place for a few beers but the food is mediocre at best.

I love this bar but the new ownership needs a crash course in socialization. my wife and I went in for a pre-dinner drink. they asked if we wanted a menu and we said no thanks just in for a drink. my wife asked for 2 different martinis and they couldn’t make them so we asked for a drink menu… the angry mother behind the bar snapped out«we don’t have a drink menu we have a food menu»…never looking up from whatever she was doing under the bar. I was done with this place at this point. but there is more. the angry ladies two daughters were making drinks behind the bar by googling drink recipees. and, they had ma’s personality unfortunately. I love the bar but the new owners should not be allowed to interact with the patrons… stay home.

We had a great experience there. Early evening visit while taking a ride on the bike. Owner waited on us and was very social. We ordered drinks and a marsala burger along with a monkie burger. Food was definitely made with fresh ingredients and the beer I ordered was fresh. Overall they had fresh, tasty food and the drinks were good. The best part was to see the owner take an interest in their business and socialize with the customers. Worth a visit.

popped in for a draft after work on a Friday night. just us and a handful of biker guys. no music just Star Trek on the tube at the bar with the presumed owner watching intently. draft selection was better than average with 2 different able ebenezers the highlight.

lunch recently, pretty quiet here this day and dark, don’t know why they don’t open the curtains and brighten up a little… good beer selection, interesting bar like place with long bar and lots of pulls on the ceiling, the monkie burger was good, a tad overdone for me but good, wife had the fish and chips(fridays only) and they were excellent, about as good as you get. interesting little new spot, worth a stop!!!

Went for a second visit and we had the lamb kebabs and fish n chips. Both were well done and tasty. It was a late dinner for a Saturday night but the quality was there. Had a problem with a beer that was bottom of the keg. Fresh keg and they replaced it. Focused on the customer and providing a quality product at a fair price. It would be nice if they added a Cobb salad, or some type of full dinner salad. The server mentioned that several folks were able to combine some apps on the salad to make it a full meal.

Super friendly owners and staff. Good food(especially the Fish and Chips!) and Guinness on tap… pretty much all I really need. No pretension here, just a good pub. A welcome addition to Milford.

The Barking Monkie Bar & Grill opened recently in the former Clark’s Tavern near the Milford Oval. This casual bar & restaurant is under new ownership and the menu(serving lunch & dinner) is new too! The name of this establishment is named after a dog named«Monkie.» Like before, this place is very cozy, which offers seating at the bar, high top table seating and hard wood booth seating. Each dark table dining surface is shiny smooth finished wood. There is also outdoor patio seating in front of the building along the sidewalk. The bar offers several beers on tap and cocktails. There’s also a TouchTunes digital jukebox too! The food offerings here include appetizers, soups, salads, burgers & sandwiches(with fries), lobster roll, steaks, chicken, seafood, pasta, and desserts(brownie sundae, cheesecake, apple crisp, caramel lava cake). See the menu at The prices here seem fair, sandwiches $ 4.95(grilled cheese)-$ 11.95(Monkie burger), entrees $ 8.95(spaghetti & meatballs)-$ 18.95(grilled rib eye steak dinner). I stopped in here for dinner recently and sat myself in a booth. The waitress arrived with menu on clipboard and took my drink order. For a starter, the Goat Cheese Balls($ 6) consisted of 3 panko fried soft goat cheese balls, topped with a sweet cranberry compote over crisp lettuce. This appetizer had nice sweet flavors and a home run in my book! For dinner, I ordered Spaghetti & Meatballs($ 8.95), but was shortly informed they had no meatballs made. I was offered Chicken Parmesan instead, which I went with. The Chicken Parmesan Dinner($ 8.95) consisted of 2 lightly breaded fried chicken cutlets(very tender) topped with melted cheese and a thick tomato sauce over al dente spaghetti. This pasta entrée was very good and hearty and the spaghetti was cooked right and strained properly(no water on the dish). For dessert, the homemade Apple Crisp($ 5.95) was served lukewarm(not hot, nor cold) with vanilla bean ice cream. The very sweet flavors of the apple crisp went well with the soft vanilla ice cream. The service was very friendly. The waitress was attentive and the appetizer and dinner entrée arrived to my table promptly. The dessert took a while to be served. I was given a complementary refill on the large Diet Coke($ 2.50). Overall, dinner at The Barking Monkie was very good and those goat cheese balls I would definitely order again on my next visit.
