Uni K WAX-West Miami

I come here frequently and have always liked the work they did. Today, however was a mess. Strands of wax all over my nails (I waxed my lower arms and hands), the wax was very hot; just overall a «hot mess». I had to cancel my upper and lower lip session
b/​c I was afraid of the outcome. I’ll come back but will make sure to book my appoints with Doris (1^st choice) or Jeannette.

This location is right by my house which is very convenient. It is very nice and clean inside. Staff was nice and friendly. I would definitely come again.

I’m not one to give negative reviews but I just cannot contain myself. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I have been waxing with Uni K for over a decade at various locations. This location however is a disgrace. I’ve tried it 3 times now, considering it is blocks from my house but every time I’m far more disappointed than the last. They don’t honor coupons given and the waxing is subpar at best. I’m especially picky but this service is neither cheap nor comfortable. The least they can do is pay attention to detail. It’s incredible that I have to leave here to finish the job at home, never has that happened to me elsewhere. I’d rather drive the 20 – 25 minutes to go to the Doral location and have Ania do a great job. Don’t come here!

After coming here for 5, almost 6 years I think it’s about time I write a review on it.
I initially came here because I asked a friend where’s a good place to wax and she brought me here and even held my hand through the whole process, lol (hey, I was nervous and scared getting my first bikini wax)!!
As I was filling out the questionnaire and my information I told the girl at the front desk to please give me someone that’s good. Not that I would’ve known who’s good and who’s not with it being my first time, but still. She put me with Leyden and Leyden made me feel as comfortable as possible for my first time. Don’t get me wrong, it still hurt and I still remember screaming during my wax and the girls/​employees outside laughing at me.
Now fast forward to now, it still hurts at times, but it all depends on when in the month you go. This may be TMI for guys, so stop reading, but for females, I’ve pretty much realized there’s just one perfect week in the month to wax when it doesn’t hurt much and that’s usually a week after your period. If you go a week before you’re already starting to feel sensitive, during its extremely sensitive, and right after as well. So if you’re gonna wax, especially bikini and for a first timer, that’s when I would suggest you go.
Yes, UniKWax is a bit on the expensive side, but once you find someone you are comfortable with waxing you down there it’s kind of hard to switch, at least for me. But you can save every now and then with the $ 2 – 5 off coupons they email from time to time and also by booking online you earn points. If you let the points accumulate you can get a service free eventually.
I do highly suggest you make appointments and make them online to earn points like I mentioned above. Unfortunately sometimes even when you make an appointment you may have to wait, but I guess that’s just like anywhere else.
Although Leyden is my go to girl, she had left for like 6 months a while back and Liane (who is her sister) stepped in and took most of her clients during that time, so I know she’s also great and very nice. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. So what are you waiting for? Go get waxed and be nice and smooth for yourself and significant other! Hehe ;-)

Super friendly and nice, both of them! I would go to a unik closer to my house but the ladies at this location are so great I just keep coming back! Loveee them! Highly recommended!

I really would love to give this place a higher rating, but i don’t think it’d be fair. I used to go all the time about 3 years ago for full bikini and underarms and I had no complaints. It smells great the minute you walk in; the scenery is soothing; the staff is sweet — all a plus. My issue: I headed back about a month ago for my usual upkeeps since I stopped lasering recently. As a previous post states, these services are by no means cheap, so I certainly expect a great outcome. Instead, what I received was a half ass job. I noticed the lady rushed, but after inspection quickly spotted several areas missed with wax everywhere. Not impressed, and won’t be going back.

I love this place! I always do my eyebrows with Leyden and she is amazing and simply the best. I have referred several people to her and they love her as well. If she is not there I’ve gone with her sister Liane who does s great job as well. This place is clean, smells great, and my eyebrows always last s long time and I find that the wax they use does not cause my skin to breakout or irritate. Highly recommend!

The girls are so friendly and accommodating at this location. I have always walked in and have been seen within 5 mins, even on busy holidays, which I think is just pure luck but still.
This location is so clean. For me, a waxing place HAS to be clean or I will walk out and this place is always clean, smells nice and makes me feel serene.
Also, as an added plus, they always have candy, pastelitos or chocolate for their customers.
I use Adriana, who is just a doll and always makes me feel comfortable. If you are in the area, this is a great place for waxing.

Ugh. I went here for a full brazilian last thursday. I was really displeased with my service.
I don’t speak spanish, and ended up with a waxer who didn’t speak any english (Leyding I think). So, that’s barrier number one.
But mainly, the issue was what a crappy job was done! I was by no means smooth, and for 50 dollars, I expect to get a freaking good job! There were patches just ignored, and then a bunch of fine hairs were left because of the way the wax was pulled. I feel like it was 50% waxing, 50% pseudo hair-​breakage at the skin surface. I was definitely really frustrated with the job done.
It might have just been my waxer/​location, but it definitely is NOT a place I’ll be returning to anytime soon.

Sad to say that my eyebrows have not lasted. Dont think i’ll be visiting uni k again. If you are really looking for someone who does amazing eyebrows that last about 3 – 4 weeks call and make an appt with trista at european wax on kendall and 122ave

I made an online appointment for eyebrow waxing. It was simple and easy. I even got a confirmation text via phone.
I got to my appointment and was very welcomed. I was inside a room within 5 minutes.
Place is extrmemely clean.
Leyden did my eyebrows and I loved them, she was nice, professional, thorough and it was all fairly quick, I was out in 15 – 20 minutes.
Def. going back.
Highly recommend.
