Just dined here. Service was terrible. First our waitress(the first one) comes up and she speaks to us in Spanish. I completely understand that we are in Miami and that a majority of the population is Spanish-speaking though we are in the United States and I think one should speak English and not assume everyone speaks Spanish, so that was strike one. The busser comes and drops off water for us. He was rather pleasant and actually smiled at us. Kudos for smiling because having been a server before I am very big in customer service and hospitality. He seemed more genuine than the waitress. Two minutes go by… then three… then five… then ten minutes. then another five and no sign of our waitress. We were only two people and were ready to order and we showed this clearly by placing the menus on top of one another and off to the side. We proceeded to flag the busser for our server who then used an ear piece to what I assume he used to summon the server. That’s strange. too mechanical… plus thus is not Ambercrombie… it’s a restaurant. Take your earpiece off and focus on being present. Another minute goes by… no sense of urgency amongst anyone. another minute. and the place wasn’t busy. It was mid day. Then another minute and finally a server comes but different then the other. She had a very flat affect and appeared uneager to take our order. Didn’t even smile once or make eye contact hardly. Just took our order and left. Then we wait an appropriate amount of time for our food. It comes but the tostada had little to no butter on it and then the eggs of the person I was dining with weren’t done right. Had hardly any yoke and they were hard. My friend also asked for jelly three times and we had to flag the busser down again to ask for it because ms. Waitress was taking her sweet time waltzing around the place with no sense of urgency. The busser should be promoted because he cared more and was more attentive than the server. That irks me to no end when you have no interest whatsoever in the customer’s experience. Why work in hospitality if you are not hospitable? Anyhow the other waitress close to tip time brings out an apology to us. No one seemed to care during the beginning or middle of our dining experience but come check time… now you bring on the sentimentality and empathy… I think not. So in conclusion go to another Cuban restaurant… one that has better service. One where the waiters like what they do and care about their customers. Won’t be going back here ever again. Oh and when the check came they didn’t take my friend’s meal off which is something that should be done or at least give something on the house or a discount. The waitress said she would do the meal over again but we were under a time crunch. She should have taken the initiative and done something else to appease us. But then again it’s their loss cause they lost customers and get a bad review… and very little tip. Better shape up Sergios.

Today we visited Sergio’s with a party of ten people, the food and service was amazing, i would recommend the croquetas, empanadas de ropa vieja, crema de malanga, milanesa, ropa vieja etc, etc everything delicious and fresh. Definitely we will back, if you eat here, ask for Lorena, she rocks as a server.

The food is good. But the delivery service is atrocious, and I don’t necessarily complain about the driver. It’s the poor communication between the people taking the orders and the kitchen. You need to either pick it up or eat it there. At 6:56 on a Sunday we called the restaurant directly to place the order. It wasn’t a big deal. One order of Masas de Puerco fritas and one order of Vaca Frita de pollo and one Flan. We were told it would arrive between 45 min to an hour. Mind you, I live less than 5 minutes away from them. The only reason I got delivery was because I have a cold and I didn’t want to leave the house in 62 degree weather. At 8:00 I called to ask for the status of my order. The lady that answered just said in a very annoyed tone that the food was already with the driver. I waited. At 8:15 I called again. I asked if the driver had several orders or just mine(since it’s a 5 min drive, very straightforward). This second lady was the original person that took my order so at least she sounded pleasant. She checked and said it was on it’s way, and he had several orders. Then 2 minutes later, I get a call from the first woman I spoke to, and like a recording she said she was calling to let me know the food was on it’s way. Never did she once apologize for the delay or anything. Redundant and now I was the annoyed one. The driver arrived at 8:30. He was extremely nice and apologetic. I asked if he had trouble finding the address, he said«no, they gave me your food just now». Apparently there was a mixup with the order, it wasn’t placed in the correct area and that caused the delay. I thanked him, as it seemed it wasn’t his fault. The order receipt showed the order was placed at 6:44, Promise time 7:48. I received my food 42 minutes later than promised. It was cold. Less than 100 degrees as I checked with my food thermometer. Luckily, the food tasted good once I reheated it. But I essentially got charged a $ 3.50 delivery surcharge to receive cold food that was over 40 mins late, when I live less than 5 minutes away. Eat it there at the restaurant. And avoid the flan. It was dense and chewy, not to mention the shade of yellow from powdered flan packets, the flavor of artificial eggs and fake vanilla. Spend the $ 4 in something else. Their mojo seasoning is great, as is their pork and chicken. I asked for steamed veggies and they were perfectly cooked. I didn’t mind paying an extra $ 0.99 for them. Most places overcook veggies til they are brown and mush, but I was pleasantly surprised that a Cuban restaurant would cook them properly. I will stick to ramen packets or Campbell’s next time I can’t leave the house.

Called now for a delivery and wait time is 1 hour and 20 mins. Simply ridiculous. Horrible customer service for an expensive place. The lady who answers phone didn’t even let me talk. I am a loyal customer ok who spends a lot of money there.

I probably come here at least 3 times a month, I used to be loyal to casahavana but this place is way nicer, more prepared staff from the servers to the bussers, and the food is amazing!!!

This place used to be great but now every time I go it’s like the food is flavorless and no thought is put into it. I miss the old Sergios, whatever that was. I thought it was just me but it seems several of my friends are feeling the same. This used to be THE place for an emapnizado. I want to go back but don’t want to be underwhelmed again.

This review is based on delivery service which is HORRIBLE. I ordered through eat24 over an hour and fourty-five minutes ago and the food came back cold. Not the first time either. They just lost a customer — I called for an update after an hour a half and was treated as though I was bothering them. I just called again and spoke with the general manager, who was apologetic and offered to refund me the meal. I hope he does as the customer service was originally poor.

I don’t know if I just haven’t been to Sergio’s in a while or this is a unique Sergio’s. The feel is more modern from the empanada case to the dessert case where the top is room temp and the bottom is refrigerator for cold sandwiches and fruit salads. There is a bar with seating and little sushi cases but instead it has seafood salad in the– it is charming. They have an open kitchen that is the modern trend theses days. The menu is Latin, but updated with flatbed choices, guava biscotti and there is even a Lo-cal Menu called La Flaca. There are lunch specials and and breakfast is served all day. I had the small Caesar salad — nothing special, but I appreciated the dressing on the side. I ordered a cup of plantain soup and I was not disappointed. It was rich and creamy with big chunks of chicken and small chunks of beef with balanced seasoning that will bring me back to this establishment. I tried the new chipotle meatloaf and it was flavorful although it was not dry it wasn’t juicey. I would like to have it as a sandwich in fluffy Cuban bread. The worst was the tostones. I read that one reviewer said theirs was soggy, well mine were too hard to cut with a knife. My server greeted me in Spanish but quickly changed when I spoke to her in English. She was supper friendly, just not really attentive. She delivers the food but never asked me if I need anything else where I would have asked for new tostones. When She did come by after I had been finished for a while, she asked if she could exchange it for anything else. She offered flan or coffee. The problem the time was too long and the filling soup wouldn’t allow anything else. She was very apologetic and friendly. Even though the food(except the soup) wasn’t remarkable I am encouraged by the atmosphere(comfortable trending furniture with updated pop music) and the new additions to the menu. Sergio’s I am coming back and won’t write you off as another typical Cuban Restuarant!

Over 1.5 hrs to get my delivery. I live less than .5 mi from the restaurant. After 1 hr, I called the store. They told me the driver was already out with my delivery. Over 30 minutes later it arrived. I was on the phone with the store manager at the time. He offered to send a fresh meal… what? We had already waited 1.5 hrs for our food. Do it right the first time. Maybe the management needs to assess its ability to deliver. You may want to eat in the restaurant but definitely do not order delivery.

Poor service, cold food and poor management… Our food was served cold, manager came to the table wearing a kitchen plastic blue glove and did not offer any recovery. Don’t go there!

Loved my experience for breakfast! They have these delicious Guava berry mimosas, you HAVE to try them. I love that they have a «flaca» menu for those looking to devour«healthier» options. I had never been to this particular location and had not been to a Sergio’s period for a long time but I will def be back!

What can I say about this classic spot that’s been around since forever and only gets better in time. The food there is delicious and the service is pretty good. They now have added a menu called«skinny girl menu» so you can have that Cuban taste but without all the fat but to be honest with you not worth it cause it doesn’t have that same Cuban flavors so if your going to eat Cuban food you got to do it right save the skinny menu for your home lolol… My favorite plate is the chicken on the grill with its amazing congre which is rice and black beans cooked together they always add a piece of pork to give the rice that yummy Cuban touch. The desserts are delicious and have a bakery attached if your in the mood for just a Cuban coffee with a pastelito which is a pastry that is a staple in this restaurant. They also have breakfast so come check it out.

So it was between Starbucks and Sergio’s and clearly Sergio’s won. They’re colada are what I need this early in the morning. Pleasant staff and no wait at the window. They have a full breakfast menu and judging by the firefighters and police, it’s a good early morning go to. I’ll be back for sure !

Eat here every once in a while and the actual restaurant is good. However, my review is based on the horrible delivery service. I’ve given this two chances, should’ve learned the first time! The first time I ordered delivery they forgot my order… It was never delivered. When I finally called the restaurant they told me that«somebody with the same name and same exact order actually picked up my order.» How is someone going to pick up a delivery order is beyond me. I’m calling BS. I eventually got my food, 2.5 hours later. No apology from management, no compensation. Nothing. I ordered from delivery service last week in hopes that they would redeem themselves. However, my order arrived and the food was cold and they forgot my order of fries. I gave them a call, informed them and was told the fries would be there shortly. 50 minutes later… After the rest of my meal was digested, my fries arrived. Again — no apology and no compensation. Pretty safe to assume I’m done ordering delivery from these folks. I’ll stick to dining in and order delivery from a more reputable Cuban restaurant.

Typical Sergios fare. Food is fresh and good. Although I’m cuban, the food is not something I am a huge fan of, so normally my stops at sergios are not for«traditional» cuban meals. I come here for their breakfast, which is always great and served quick, and their mimosa special — 2 bottles of champagne for 35 $. Love that they serve it with fresh O. J and watermelon juice. Croquetas here are always a good choice. Service is usually pretty good. The only thing that kinda sucks is that there is usually always a fruit fly or two flying around.

When visiting South Miami, eating tasty Cuban food is always a must. Sergio’s is a well known Cuban restaurant in this area. They serve delicious Cuban food in an inviting ambiance with warm colours, cultural paintings on the walls, and soft lighting throughout. The menu offers many delicious choices to select. We ordered the Mariquita Chips to share. Light and crisp fried plantains that were so delicious! They came with a garlic sauce and a cream sauce. Drizzle with some fresh squeezed lime juice, and WOW! For my entrée, I had the Pan con Bistec. It is made with Thin-sliced grilled steak, Swiss cheese, grilled onions, tomatoes and shoestring potatoes served on delicious Cuban bread. The steak was so tender and very tasty. The bread, ooohhh I can eat it all day!!! Looks like French Bread but the taste is way more flavorful. Sergio’s is a Florida based chain restaurant, but don’t let that fool you. The quality and deliciousness of their food is above par. It gets busy here so be prepared for a wait. Sergio’s is a local’s favorite, and it is reasonably priced and has friendly service. I look forward to visiting again.

I went Friday with a friend before we went out dancing. We figured we’d be able to get some good fortifying food from here. We went around 8:30 p.m. and were seated very quickly. Upon our arrival we were offered free samples of some berry sangria they had. I didn’t try it, my friend did, and she said it was delicious. It took some time for them to serve us water and the bread. In fact a good 10 minutes passed and I had to ask the waitress for bread before we were served. The bread slices were alright, but really heavy on their cheese/garlic powder. It’s only problematic if the bread isn’t buttery enough. Our orders were taken quickly, but the food took a while to come out. I ordered a blackened tilapia with a ceasar salad and mashed potatoes as sides. The salad came before the actual food, which I didn’t think was a problem, I was hungry, but it might matter to someone else. I’m sure many would be happy to know that they separated the dressing from the salad and let you apply it as you like. I wasn’t 100% happy with the fish, I felt the middle was a little too close to undercooked, but I’m not a chef. The sides, on the other hand, were very tasty. Since I didn’t finish my fish, I decided to order dessert. I ordered a café con leche with a plain flan. Now here is where I’m sort of on the fence. Someone in the kitchen took a chance and added(whipped?) cream and sprinkles to the flan. A traditionalist like my uncle would have balked, and honestly it really threw me off at first, but I also have a love of sprinkles so I embraced the anomaly on my plate. I wouldn’t recommend that the chef repeat it unless s/he knows who they are catering to. Besides the sprinkles, it wasn’t anything to write home about. It was a very subpar flan, I’m sad to say. The taste of the custard was very mild, saved only slightly by the sauce. However, it was edible. It didn’t taste bad, it was just like flan-lite, a ghost of a flan. The café con leche came in a fair-sized mug. I’ve been to places with bigger/smaller mugs, but this one was a nice average size. The milk was just right and they served plenty of Cuban coffee to go with it. I wouldn’t come back to this Sergio’s when I could find the same thing elsewhere. The service was slow(although the waitress was very nice), the sides were better than the fish, and the flan wasn’t worth the calorie-intake. However, I should note that my friend’s vaca frita looked a lot better than my plate and I didn’t try the pastelitos. Perhaps this Sergio’s has some redeeming factors. If so, please let me know.

I liked my intro i to cuban cuisine. This is where the locals go and I enjoyed my dining experience here. the churrasco was tender, salad was ok since the dressing were bottled not freshly made. thw crispy pork asado tasted good as well.
