The Sunday Chimichanga special was raw. It was not crispy at all. It was a soggy burrito. The food is basic without any creativity. The free chips ARE the best part of eating here. The $ 5 cheese dip is all processed. The service is slow.

Our server was named Tiffany. We ordered quesadilla and the southwest chicken tacos. Everything was good. The chips with salsa and also queso dip that we ordered was free that was a plus! Our server was very attentive and brought me everything I needed within minutes of being asked. Very pleased with the service here I’ll be coming back.

I am not used to leave bad reviews but this time … Have no choice. The food is a joke. We ordered enchiladas I think I never saw such a bad presentation … And such a bad taste. We basically had the impression to eat havaianas re heated in a microwave for the third time. A lot of sour cream and cheese on the top to cover the mess… Rice not even cook(how is it possible to not have a good rice ??) Very disappointed with this place How easy and cheap it is to cook fresh and quality food. The waiter was super friendly and I felt sorry to send back my enchiladas to change it for quesadillas.(Ok with guacamole supermarket style tho) To be clear: don’t go there. So many better options around…

THISISTHEWORSTONTHEBORDEREVER!!! The waitress was horrible she forgot to put silver ware in our table or napkins. We ordered an appetizer and my husband food came before it and my order didn’t even make it to the table… She has to ask me after 30 min what was it that I ordered. The manager said he was sorry and gave the appetizer on the house but even after the service was still HORRIBLE. I’ve never seen such a mess in a restaurant before. It sucks to see this because I work in the customer service field and they need a lot of help in this area… I didn’t even want to give it one star

I am not Mexican, so I can’t say if the food taste authentic or not, but it was sure delicious! Some people complain that service was slow, but for me it wasn’t at all, and it was great service btw. This restaurant is a bit like chilli’s, but a little different. The servings are a bit smaller, but far more delicious. I loved it here to be honest, and I would recommend. My boyfriend and I ate our entrees, drinks, and deserts with under $ 40(tip not included). Could be thanks to the free chips and salsa, which makes it unnecessary to order an appetizer.

I was baffled as to how close to my job this place is. It’s a very chill environment but with the feeling of being at chillis. There are no lines and adequate seating is abundant. The waitress accommodated my entire family and recommended her favorite dishes. The location is great, price is even better! A definite plus is the abundance of parking spaces. Check it out on a Sunday afternoon for lunch.

Not a bad place if you want to get some Mexican food. They are open late and in the Kendall area. The food is not bad and priced well. The restaurant could be a little cleaner is the only thing I would say.

When the free chips are your favorite there is trouble. I waited 15 minutes for a server to reach my table, I don’t know why but the service industry in these restaurants in kendall have been terrible. The server finally came and I asked if there was specials she’s like ya margaritas but they are ok… Well that really sold me. I ordered flautas to start they came Four and burnt to a crisp, are fajitas didn’t even come with the steam, they came cold. I already knew we were in trouble by then. Me and my boyfriend decided to order a beer to get through the rest. The beer comes in a hot mug that just came out of the dishwasher. Who wants a cold beer in a hot steaming mug? When I asked the bartender he was like well we don’t have other cups soooo… In like so you can’t put it in ice or something or in the fridge? He responds with um ok… 2 minutes later bring back two more hot beers. The food was ok, the beer was the worst of the worst. The lack of management in this store real shows. If there was better service and some cold beers and the servers knew the specials I’m sure it would have way more business. Would not recommend this restaurant, I live five minutes away and can’t enjoy my neighborhood on the border :(

This is my 2nd visit to On the Border. My first one was when i lived in NY and now I reside in Miami. Overall, the food isn’t that great. It’s basically a step up from taco bell. The only thing that is decent is the guacamole live because its fresh and made to order infront of you. The bottomless chips and salsa is a plus as well. I did come this 2nd time around to try their margaritas for their 2 for 1 special after 10:30pm. They were pretty good. I ordered the frozen mango ones and they had a decent kick, or maybe my tolerance is just low. I also ordered the brownie sundae which was pretty yummy. All in all though, this really is not authentic mexican food, so for anyone looking for some authentic amazingly fresh place, this isn’t it. So for all you people that have complained about this place in the past, you pay for what you get! So stop being cheap asses if you want top quality!

Wow. I am amazed at the lack of stars for this place! I love the food here, it is very good and even on a busy night the service is great! Definitely recommend! !!

I have been here multiple times and have yet to be disappointed so I’m not sure why the reviews are so poor. In my experience, the food is great and the service has been fast, friendly, and efficient. The original queso dip and border sampler are my favorite things on the menu but everything I’ve tried has been tasty. Don’t let the negative reviews fool you, this place is definitely worth a try.

This is my second time eating here in 2 years, the first time was an ok experience, this time around wasn’t to pleasant. The host sat us straight down in the middle of 4 loud tables, our server waa nice and food came out fast. I ordered a combo for 13 that included a soup or salad, 1 of 3 to 5 choices and a dessert. I ordered a salad with a mango dressing, steak fajita and a chocolate brownie dessert with a strawberry lemonade The color of the lettuce has discolored to making it look bad and orange, the chips in it was stale and the sauce was like mango juice, nothing special. The fajitas was ok, although they literally only gave me 3 little pieces of steak that was chewy. The desert, well I had it to go and they gave me the wrong dessert. Its not hard to screw up an order if there are only 2 desserts on the special menu. Overall, I probably wouldn’t return, i should of read the reviews before coming. 2 stars for so so service and getting food out fast, other than that, It was just a terrible experience

I’m rating this spot 3 stars because if the amazing queso dip they offer with the chips. The salsa is also very good, but the rest of the food is eh… The drinks are a tad bit overpriced and just OK, nothing out of this world. The service was good and our waitress was great. Other than the points highlighted above, nothing special here.

I second others’ comments about food being average here. Service was quite attentive, to the point that one of the waitresses stood on top of a chair and pulled on the fan’s chain since everyone in our party was cold, but the food was not impressive. Compared to Lime or Salsa Fiesta, my favorite casual, fast food-ish establishments, On The Border really doesn’t impress. The portions aren’t as large, nor are there many ingredients provided. Prices aren’t bad, but they’re not bad at Lime either, and the food is much tastier, and fresher, in my opinion. As others mentioned, parking is a pain too. I suppose that if you’re in that strip plaza and craving something resembling Mexican, it’s okay, but I would not go out of my way to come here. There are better Tex Mex places in Kendall, in my opinion, and OTB is certainly not authentic Mexican food.

Pretty average in my opinion. I think it is similar to Chili’s but not as tasty. This place is in a busy shopping area so good luck with the parking. I’d say if you come here, it’s better to just come for drinks. There’s free chips and salsa which is a plus. The prices are also very reasonable and you get a good portion of food, but I just wasn’t impressed with the food. I ordered the Big Bordurrito and was surprised to find that the so called«side salad» it came with was just a pile of lettuce. I think they should’ve just stuck to pico de gallo because lettuce by itself like that looked awfully lonely.

This review is solely for their 5 de Mayo Party. I went with about 13 girls and I have to say, considering it is one of their busiest days, it was a very good experience over all. They did not take reservations so I arrived early to reserve a table. As I waited, I went to the bar, got myself the obligatory 5 de Mayo Margarita, and headed outside where they had tents, seats, and a DJ playing some great music. Our table was ready a lot faster than we anticipated so we went in, had dinner while being serenaded by a mariachi band, and then headed out for more drinks and dancing. There were planty of cops there and that felt good — you never know whats gonna happen when people are having teqila all night. Food was good and all in all, I would go back to cino de mayo for sure!

After reading the previous reviews I was not sure if I should try this place, but I’m a risk taker Glad I did, the food was great, I had the fajitas, also it was Tuesday so they have a Taco Tuesday special 2 dollar tacos. Tried a couple of those They took my order fast, it was accurate and the attention was 5 stars My sever was Luke ask for him if you decide to try this place. Fast friendly service. Luke seems to enjoy his job and it shows with the service he provides.

We have been to On the boarders 2 times. First time, did not like it, decided to give it another chance since we were near by today. Today’s experience: We were seated promptly, asked for moist toilette to wipe hands, not available. The waiter was nice and made suggestions on food and drinks. She checked on us often. No complaints there. The food was very simple tasting. Both my husband and I ordered fish tacos. Didn’t love them. They could have used more seasoning or some sort of creamy sauce or something — they were pretty bland. Presentation of plate was good though, they looked good, just didn’t taste the part. My daughters meal was $ 3.99. Ordered her the grilled chicken, salad, and rice. She liked it. Only thing I found odd is that the chicken came whole vs chopped into strips(or smaller pieces period). My husband tried the chicken, said it tasted good. My daughter enjoyed her meal and price was just. We did like the margarita(frozen), and bottomless chips and salsa. Noticed that the lamp above our heads had a few years worth of dust, as if it hasn’t been cleaned in ages — -gross!
