R U FEELINLUCKY? That is how I felt walking into this hidden gem about 3 years ago. This location was new to the area and since we were craving Cuban we decided to try it out. Plus we didn’t have to actually get in our car and drive over to the Cuban neighborhood. I must admit this is a really nice business. We have dinned in and also taken our food to go and eat poolside at the hotel. I will tell you we get many looks of envy as we are chowing down on this amazing food in front of the other hotel guests. When dinning in just make sure the waitress knows what you want because there can be a language barrier. My trick is to speak slow and always point to the item in the menu as you show her the menu. This will insure that there is no confusion. Probably one of the most frustrating things about Miami is not being able to communicate what you want. This place also has killer lunch specials and these change daily. The list is very long too, so there’s much to choose from. My wives favorite is always on the list. It is the grilled flat chicken steak with grilled onions. It is really good and seasoned perfectly. It also comes with rice, black beans & fried plantains. Yummy! I forgot to mention the basket of Cuban bread prior to food arriving. Cuban bread is amazing. Un-pressed it is light and full of air but press it and it becomes flaky and crunchy. The bread is served pressed with some butter on it. Yes and Yes! Such a treat to enjoy. Basically you just dive in because the work has been done in the kitchen. I love the Cuban ham croquettes. These are one of my favorites. Recently my little one wanted to try one. That was a huge mistake because now they are her favorite. This is how I lost my Asian dumplings when she was one. I just want my dumplings back. And now I’m losing my croquettes. I may have to sneak back here and get an order after they all go to sleep. Now on to my masterpiece. I love a Cubano sandwich! Hands down one of the most delicious sandwiches ever, when made fresh. I’ve had many favorites in the Miami area but most have changed and cut back on quality. Not here!!! This place puts together one amazing sandwich. First of all the meat is fresh and piled high. The pork is perfectly roasted and tender with each bite. The warm gooey swiss cheese with mustard, mayo and pickle. Finally the crunch of the bread. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I really can’t get anything else here because this sandwich is so good. Despite the name… Las Vegas… I’m definitely a winner here. In fact, I’ve never walked out a loser. The food is out of this world. It is also a family run business. They have several other locations but this is the only location I’ve been too. So if your looking for some delicious Cuban food, then this is the place. Don’t let the name fool you because Las Vegas is all Havana and luck will be your lady when eating here!

I really enjoyed this place. Twice… different locations… lechon asado was equally amazing at both spots. I feel like Las Vegas is chain like in its consistency but still an independent with a great story behind its creation. Definitely prefer this to the tourist traps.

Good Cuban food but a bit pricier than other casual Cuban places in the area. It’s a more formal restaurant than La Carretta but the food isn’t any better.

I just murdered a seafood soup dish from here. It was basically a load of lobster, shrimp, scallops, and mussels in a tomato broth… similar to a cioppino. It was served with a side of rice & black beans. The soup was good. But I prefer the atmospher and dishes of La Rosa which is in the same area.

The waiter took this inexperienced midwesterner and guided me to a great lunch for about $ 12 — fall-apart tender lamb shank with the best fried plantains I have ever even heard of. I didn’t know that they could be so good.

It was late one weeknight and I really had a hankering for a Cuban sandwich. I ducked into this place which I had not been to since they were La Casita. Despite not being on the dinner menu, it was fixed and in a very accommodating manner. I have to say, it was one of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. Perhaps they went all out since it was a special off the menu order, loaded with meat, cheese dripping off the edges, HUGE. I can’t recommend this sandwich enough, very nice when a restaurant not only accommodates a customer’s request, but comes through like Evil Kneivel. I’ll be back for that sandwich.

I’ve been meaning to try Las Vegas for a while, and finally made it to the location near Miracle Mile the other night. The service was excellent. The man who was taking care of our party was attentive and friendly. He answered all of our questions and really made our time great. The restaurant’s menu has a family photo on it, and a story about the family who started the whole thing, and there really is a nice family feel inside. The bread we were given before our meals was amazing. I mean seriously delicious. I had the garlic chicken, which was just ok. The chicken was kind of bland other than the sauce. The rice and beans were delicious, and the plaintains were good too. I also tried my husband’s entrée, the shredded pork, and I would definitely order that instead if I were to return. We also had a carafe of sangria, and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t think it was too sweet, and it had a lot of fruit in it. The three of us were able to finish it but a half would probably be okay if you just wanted a glass or so each. However, prices are great(I think the full was $ 18 or something) so might as well spring for the bigger carafe! I don’t think this is the best Cuban restaurant I’ve tried, food-wise. But the atmosphere is really nice. We stayed talking well after we had finished our meals, and we didn’t get that awkward feeling that the staff wanted us to leave, like I’ve experienced at some other restaurants. I would give Las Vegas another try… another carafe, some shredded pork, and another good conversation would be worth it.

Food was great. Minus one star because the sangria was pretty terrible(really, really sweet — tasted like canned fruit punch with a dash of wine). I had the lechon asado(roast pork). For under $ 10 you get a TON of food. Like, a mountain of delicious and well seasoned pulled pork, plus two huge scoops of rice and black beans. I wish I could go back and order the paella(need to call one hour ahead). I am by no means well versed in the ways of Cuban food, but I have to believe this is one of the better dining options in Coral Gables. If you’re staying nearby, skip the overpriced and crappy hotel restaurants and walk over to Las Vegas like I did!

Whenever me and my buddies are craving some good old cuban food and want to just walk to get it, this is where we come. Their mariquitas(fried plantain) are great, and they have a good variety of lunch specials. Overall their food is inexpensive and quite good. I’m a fan.

Want inexpensive Cuban food? You better get in here. We’re not really a fan of visiting Cuban cuisines, since we can make the food of our own. BUT…this place is an exception. Any dish is very much seasoned with Cuban seasoning. As for the side dishes, my favs are Moros y Yuca. Yum! Daily specials, great tasting food and the service is just as good. Also, if you’re hungover get their large chicken soup. You’ll be feeling better in no time :)

I stayed at the Westin for a night prior to a cruise, and ended up at this spot per the recommendation of the porters at the hotel. We ended up here about 45 minutes prior to closing on a Sunday night, and they couldn’t have been more hospitable. Even though it was painfully clear that they were cleaning up for the night, everyone was incredibily patient with my family. My family hasn’t been exposed to much Cuban fare, so we needed recommendations on what to get… And the standby Cuban goodies is what they said: lechon, chuurasco and the chicken bites(the name escapes me). Everything was great — I got the sampler, which included a bit of everything. Oh, and get the Sangria. It’s really really tasty, even though I’m fairly certain they use canned fruit cocktail instead of fresh fruit. Oh, well.

I went here while visiting the area for a day. I got here about 10 minutes after they opened on a Saturday. My food was delicious and the service was friendly. The empanadas were pretty good, and the ropa vieja and plantains were outstanding. It was fairly priced but the restaurant was very pretty and had the feel of a place that should be charging about $ 3 – 4 more per plate. Why the 3 star review? Here’s the conversation I had with the server: Me: I’d like the Sandwich Cubano… Server: We don’t have that on Saturday. Me: Wait, what? You are a cuban restaurant and you don’t serve cubans on Saturday? Server: No, sorry… Me: Alright, how about arroz con pollo? Server: We don’t serve that until an hour after we open because it takes an hour to get it ready. Me: WTF?! I can’t get two of the most quintessential cuban dishes at this place… Okay, fine, how about ropa vieja? Server: Okay, we can do that, yes. So now you know the story of why I gave this restaurant 3 stars.

Wow what a place! Was staying at a hotel nearby and ate here twice in two days and it was so good! Loved the service(wish they spoke more English), loved the appetizers and loved the entrees. Oh and don’t forget the tres leches, it’s awesome! Yes there is a reason why I ate here two days in a row… ITWASAWESOME!!!

Bueno, bonito and barrato at it’s finest! seriously folks, where else in the Gables can you have an excessive amount of hot food for lunch at a sit down restaurant for less than $ 9? oh and be in and out in less than an hour? hmm?! I honestly go to Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine about 2 – 3 times a week and I’m always satisfied. The staff is amazingly attentive, my glass of water is never empty and even during the lunch hour rush they still manage to put on a smile and give great service. My favorite lunch special is the grilled chicken with morro and platano maduro. I also enjoy the fish, breaded steak and vaca frita. No need to question the authenticity of this restaurant, their vaca frita tastes just like my grandmother’s! Did I mention their proportions are out of hand? yeah, pretty effin’ amazing. Parking can get a bit complicated especially during lunch hour but I normally find parking right across the street. If not, there’s plenty of garage parking near by. So if you happen to be in the Gables area during lunch, I highly recommend Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine! They also do carry-out!

I am so happy there is a great Cuban restaurant just down the street from me. This place is great! Not only is the food good, but it also comes out really fast. I had the roasted pork(lechon asado) — cooked perfectly and tasted great. My only complaint is I wish they would give you more plantains. Three pieces is not enough for me!

If you could name something more to walk away from, I can only imagine«Clem’s House of Shitty Food». But, I went with my friend, for lunch and ya know the food wasn’t that bad, the atmosphere, wasn’t that bad, the service… BAD! Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine serves the typical Cuban fare, I guess less typical in Las Vegas, but way typical here, there by it gives the consumer a better chance to judge. I ordered the Pork Chunks and my bud ordered the Vaca Frita. It was better then La Caretta, way better the Pollo Tropical, presentation was better too, but that’s where it ended. Our waitress was busy on the cell, or just to detached from our table to come by. It really takes something away from the place when you have to wait and wait and wait for your check. I hate that part of dining! From reading the other reviews of this place, I get the idea that it is a good place, with a bad name, I bet the owner has plastic on his/her furniture. I was good, inexpensive and I bet on better days the service was better. But, hence LASVEGAS, you bet, sometime you win sometimes you lose!

Went there for dinner on Sunday as having left Florida a number of years ago I was craving proper Cuban. We ordered a Sangria and a Mojito along with Yuca Frita for the appetizer. Both drinks were good and the Mojito was dirt cheap at $ 2.75. The garlic mojo dipping sauce for the yuca frita was really good. For the main course I ordered the classic masas de cerdo with black beans, rice, and maduros. Excellent on all accounts! Wife ordered Filete de Pescado a la Mariquita which a very pleasant surprise. The plantain coating on the grouper filet was a perfect pair. Finished it with 2 cuban coffees and it was a perfect meal.

I’ve been here twice and the first time I went here, the lechon was ONPOINT and so was the service. The lechon was flavorful and not overly oily and the service was prompt and friendly. On top of that, the prices are decent, too, especially being on Miracle Mile. However, the second time I went, it was just ok… nothing more, nothing less. I got lechon again hoping for the same great quality I had the first go ’round and it just wasn’t there. It was kinda bland and excessively oily. It was nothing at all like the first time. My family ordered papas rellenas and they were mediocre, at best. I forgot what my mom got, but that was just mediocre, too. I’m really sad things aren’t living up to my first experience. Nonetheless, this is one of the few places where service is always good. Clean and nice, classy ambiance as well.

I think the 3 stars pretty much sums up my experiences at Las Vegas. Every now and again I like to sit down for lunch and Las Vegas is usually the place for that, except when they’re not. The interior is well decorated and it’s always a refuge from hot Miami days. However, they don’t consistently have good service and I’ve found myself leaving guests at the table because I had to run back to the office. The food is always well prepared though and they have all the staples of Cuban Cuisine covered.

For typical Cuban food, Las Vegas continue to be one of my favorite. It also serves as an affordable eats in Coral Gables. It’s the only Cuban I know in the Miracle Mile area. Clean and nice interior, affordable prices, big portions, good food, tasty sangria(cheaply made, though), decent service.
